While it wasn't Cat's first battle, nor her last, the sweltering sun didn't seem to have the slightest hint of fazing the pinkette, if anything all this was great experience for when she'd take on a gym! She wanted to prepare as best as she could, and what was better than an endless round of battles with all sorts of different faces?! She'd been restless and antsy, determination burning in her eye—it was easy to tell that she couldn't wait for the next battle, her hands fidgeting with a ticket that declared her next opponent.[break][break]

Standing beside her had been Björn, ready to tackle whatever challenge the Perrserker's trainer would inevitably throw him into, though Cat had prepared pokémon for the battle, it was easy to tell that Björn was who she was most confident with. Though the summer heat seemed to have been getting to the Viking cat, as he sat down near his trainer. He hadn't gone unnoticed at least, the pink-haired go-getter quickly pulling out and uncapping a bottle of water for him, before rehydrating herself too—heat stroke was no joke after all! Though Björn had downed half the bottle before pouring the rest of it over himself. While Cat had been a bit worried about whether Björn and the rest would last, she'd tried her best to reassure herself that this'd be a good challenge for both them and her as she awaited her opponent.

No matter who her opponent is, Eris finds herself having fun thus far, loving every bit of thrill and interaction with other trainers she gets! Of course, she's been taking frequent breaks to help treat her pokemon and make sure that they too get to enjoy the tournament to the max. So whilst Reiner takes a break from babysitting duties, she's accompanied by Lucky, Terra and Tai, three of her newest additions to the team.

Lucky prances in her wake, bouncing around Zen as he ambles beside Eris, mindful of the little Dedenne that sits atop his head. Carrying her next challenge letter, she's a little curious as to who she's going up against next, tugging at the seams of her windbreaker as the wind sweeps at her sundress. Anyone might call her crazy for wearing a jacket in this weather but hey, it technically helps her to avoid a sunburn! On top of hiding the bandages she'd hastily tied over her scars...

"Hi there!" She waves to the girl ahead of her with a wide smile on her face, watching as her Perrserker helps her to uncap a bottle of water. In a sense, he was kind of like Reiner with how much he cared! "Ready to go?"

Cat had jumped with excitement, her opponent had arrived! Yet she'd seemed even younger than Cat was, nonetheless she wasn't going to say no to a battle! "Heya, I'm ready as I can be!" She'd replied with fervor, pumping her fists in front of herself to show just how excited she was, "Name's Cat by the way! Good luck!" She'd shouted over to her opponent, she'd thought a little to herself, while she didn't have that many pokémon, there was something she wanted to try.[break][break]

Before readying herself for battle, she'd called over to her opponent, "Actually! Do you mind if we try a triple battle?! It seems kind of interesting to do!" She'd offered with inquiry, there hadn't been much a particular reason why she wanted to—almost entirely a whim, though of course it just seemed fun, and she was excited to do a battle with everyone in mind!

A triple battle? There were no rules stating that they couldn't do such a thing and the idea seemed interesting enough. Even with a lack of experience, Lucky and Tai seem to be quite excited, hopping and cajoling Terra to go along with them. And though it takes a few minutes, she's eventually convinced, taking her place on the field with a quiet grunt.

Watching as Lucky and Tai psyche themselves up with some kind of strange cheer, Eris can't help but shrug, standing on her tiptoes and waving to her opponent.

"Name's Eris! I might be younger than you but we won't go down without a fight!"

A sharp inhale, followed by a fluttering whistle - Lucky begins to charge a Solar Beam whilst Terra swings at Empoleon with a Hammer Arm.

While it truly was on a whim, it had just occurred to Cat that this was the perfect opportunity to test her team coordination, especially considering that Björn had just recently evolved. She'd smiled in response to Eris' determination,[break][break]

"Likewise!"[break][break]

Whilst still a fairly fresh trainer, Cat had one thing if nothing else to rely on, she was meticulous when it came to learning new things, especially when it came to pokémon battles considering she wanted to take on the gym challenge, "Orm, block the Darmanitan's attack with Iron Tail!" she'd quickly shouted, the giant Steelix slamming his tail down from overhead to defend the allied Empoleon, "Kejsare, Aqua Jet to follow up, and Björn, Hone Claws!" she'd commanded with excited fervor, the Empoleon bursting out from behind the Steelix's tail in a flurry of water to strike at the Darmanitan, whilst the Perrserker stayed back to up its stats.[break][break]

Cat couldn't keep her eyes away from the battle, ignoring that she was a part of it, she was excited beyond imagination, battles were fun after all!

There's a gap in judgement, a moment spent forgetting that adding momentum in the same way that an attack goes does nothing but add power to a strike. Thankfully for Cat, Terra's arm slams down onto empty grounds, the impact kicking up a cloud of sand as she tanks the weak hit. As Aqua Jet is fired, a tongue click makes the battlefield shift, a Dedenne leaping out in front of the water and taking the hit as Terra refocuses herself, swinging a Fire Punch right at the Steelix.

Lucky, on the other hand, already knows what he's doing, firing a Solar Beam right at the offending Empoleon before darting sideways to catch Tai mid-flight. It is here that Eris gives a low whistle, the Dedenne pushing himself back up and giving the enemy Perrserker puppy dog eyes in an attempt to Charm it.

"Yup! I came from Wyndon!" She'd shouted out with a silly smile, she hadn't had much care for any politics in regards to the strains between Hoenn & Galar, she'd loved her home & she loved the beautiful, wonderous sights in Hoenn. Nonetheless, rather than reminiscing, she'd been rather focused on the battle![break][break]

"Orm, you alright?!" She'd shouted, checking on the Steelix that had taken the Fire Punch, while she'd trusted in the iron snake's defensive specialty & its heat tolerance, she'd worried nonetheless, "Orm, Bind that Darmanitan!" she'd called out, the Steelix attempting to snake around the fire... monkey pokemon? I dunno man, "Kejsare, Björn, Metal Claw!" she'd further ordered, while the Empoleon had taken quite the brunt of the Solar Beam, Cat was confident in how sturdy the Empoleon was—the Empoleon & Perrserker had slashed at the two smaller pokémon, empowered by the Perrserker's Steely Spirit!

Wyndon is a familiar name that sits upon the tip of her tongue. Has she maybe seen it whilst studying the various maps of regions around the world? Perhaps, something about her mother's notes had mentioned Wyndon? Then again, it could just have been a name that stuck whilst she brooded through pokedex entries on Galarian species...

Though he mind drifts, her eyes are most certainly focused on the battlefield in front of her, a two-toned whistle twisting off her lips - As the Darmanitan finds herself ensnared in a strong grip, she manages to twist her head just enough to launch her own counterattack and try to sink a Fire Fang into the Steelix's body. Unlike Terra however, Tai and Lucky are much less versed in the ways of combat. Completely unprepared to defend against the attack, Lucky is clawed by their tenacious opponents, letting out a Growl as he stumbles. Tai, on the other hand, avoids the attack by leaping straight at the swinging limbs and latching right onto the Empoleon for a quick Nuzzle.

Cat's heart leaped with excitement at the ensuing battle! The thrill of it all, commanding her pokémon, trying her best to lead them to victory! Her heart had even fluttered a little seeing that Eris could give out commands without a word, she wanted to know how to do that! Regardless, her eyes remained fixed on the battle![break][break]

"Orm! Fight back with Thunder Fang!" She'd shouted out, the Steelix far too close to possibly dodge the Darmanitan's own bite, but the opposite should be true too, Cat had thought, the Steelix raising itself up, still wrapped around the Darmanitan, plunging its massive maw, brimming with electrified power down at the Darmanitan! If nothing else, even with the type disadvantage, she trusted in her Steelix's sturdy frame that the pokédex claimed had been tempered in volcanic underground heat![break][break]

Her attention shifted back to her other two pokémon, "Kejsare, Aqua Jet and get that Dedenne away!" the Empoleon had been rather swift, utilizing a high speed move to deftly backstep away from the mouse pokémon then charge straight back in with a speedy tackle wreathed in water![break][break]

"Keep up the offensive, Björn! Iron Head!" In turn, the Perrserker had quickly tried to silence the Deerling, lunging forward with a heavy headbutt! Though Cat's pokémon were all feeling that Growl's effects, Cat was confident that Björn's Steely Spirit would let her keep brute forcing it for a little longer![break][break]

"It really is! It can get a little chilly since it's up north but, the stadium, tower & ferris wheel are something you've gotta see!" She'd called back in response, smiling. Even if she felt a little homesick talking about Wyndon, it was overshadowed by her joy thinking about it, and her thrill in the heat of the battle!

The Thunder Fang is quick to elicit a Flinch from the Darmanitan, a sight that causes Eris to waver but not fully break under pressure. With a soft inhale and exhale, she's forcing her way back into control, giving a tongue click and a whistle.

Tai is a stubborn creature of habit, readily taking the hit but gripping tight to the Empoleon and Nuzzling him in turn. On the other hand, Lucky's living up to his name, tanking the hit but never once wavering in charging up a Solar Beam.

Responses like 'That sounds cool! I wish you could see my home too!' Or 'You shouldn't miss visiting X location in Kanto' seems morbidly funny when she thinks about it. From the propaganda spread about the state of the region, she can almost find herself wanting to believe it. It's a nice feeling, knowing that home still exists somewhere. And it's a feeling that's been robbed from her for a long while now.

But it feels rude to simply leave Cat hanging, so Eris offers her a word at the very least.

Cat couldn't help but give a little fist pump at the sight of Orm having successfully dealt some cringe damage against the Darmanitan, and wasn't about to let up on her offensive! "Let's go with another Thunder Fang!" she'd announced—in this situation, she couldn't quite really ask Orm to employ an Iron Tail or Dig while it kept the Darmanitan bound in its iron coil, and neither of the other biting moves that the Steelix knew would be particularly effective against it either.[break][break]

While initially, the Empoleon had managed to evade the electric pokémon, persistence had earnt her opponent a chance, and while Kejsare had managed a hit, he'd almost immediately been paralyzed by the Nuzzle! Her Perrserker, Björn, had continued the onslaught, an immediate follow-up to the Iron head with its Fury Swipes without needing to hear the order from Cat. The Perrserker being her closest partner since she was young, their bond had at least afforded that much, "Kejsare, fwap the Dedenne away with a Metal Claw!" she'd called out to her Empoleon, its wing tip glowing brightly as it swung the Dedenne around with its attack, hoping to throw it off before it could do any more!

With a Perrserker charging right at him, Lucky dodges the first few swipes. And with the time bought from those manoeuvres, he's able to fire the Solar Beam at the Empoleon. But luck only lasts for so long, a few Fury Swipes landing meaning the end of the road. When the final scratch rakes his torso, the Deerling is stumbling to the ground, crying out softly as he faints.

As she recalls him, Eris turns her attention to Tai and whistles once. The Dedenne persists through the attacks, dodging the Metal Claw by the tips of his tail as he latches onto the Empoleon's flipper. Pressing his cheeks against the flipper, Tai then begins to Nuzzle once more, electricity sparking from the action as he aims to Paralyse.

From the onslaught of attacks it had received, the Empoleon had ended up getting knocked out, much to Cat's own distress.[break][break]

"You did your best, buddy!" she'd shouted out, returning the Empoleon to its ball, "Let's avenge Kejsare with a Metal Claw, Björn!" she'd quickly followed up, with the Deerling down, Cat could focus on the problematic Dedenne now, "Watch out for that Nuzzle though!" she'd added on, the viking cat pokémon's claws matching together into black-iron daggers before shining brilliantly as it lunged at the electric rodent pokémon!

A low whistle gets Tai on the offensive once more, the Metal Claw striking his torso as his cheeks begin to spark. Then, he Nuzzles with the last bits of his energy, fainting as the electricity leaves him.

Terra begins to wind her arm up, flames coating her fist as she swings at Björn with a Fire Punch. She has to narrow this to a 1v1 or she'll be at a severe disadvantage for sure.
