"A fan, eh? With an Armaldo, I can believe it! Fine by me." Doug said as he palmed 2 net balls, grinning at the man. "I'll try my best no to disappoint."

With a swing of the arm, 2 pokemon were released into the field: A Frosmoth and an Araquanid.

"You asked for it!" Doug said with a grin, lifting his arm in the air before swinging his arm forward. "You know the drill!"

The Araquanid's water bubble suddenly surged forth, transforming into a massive bubble before it suddenly swung it downwards, destroying it in a massive burst of water that thoroughly soaked it and its companion both. The water however, clung to the Frosmoth's body, sliding around the surface of its body with a blue glow as it slowly permeated its fur.

For its part, the Frosmoth snapped its gaze towards the other two pokemon as its body began to glow, the blue liquid around it shimmering as it pooled around its eyes- before it unleashed two blinding flashes of burning, fae light towards the Garchomp and Armaldo.

And so it begins. Having fought a number of trainers Miles is always so impressed with each individual's style their tactics. The bug gym leader's style was no exception refined to a degree.

"Dig, Sandstorm!"

Miles calls responding more to the dazzling gleam and so the Garchomp avoids burrowing into the stone the maze of containers rustles and shakes as the Fairy-type move strikes Armaldo. Still, it's not nearly enough to stop the bug type who in turn responds with a massive roar generating a raging sandstorm amidst both trainers and their pokemon.

The Garchomp would rise bursting through stone below attempting to strike the Frosmoth with its bladed arms as the sandstorm raged around them.

Miles had plans for Doug, but before he could enact them he wanted to test the man. He knew his heart was in the right place, but he needed to make sure the man was strong enough to be trusted.

"Don'tcha think it's hot enough already?" Doug said casually to his pokemon and opponent both, the two snapping to action immediately after.

A barrier was erected by the Araquanid as the Frosmoth rose directly above its companion and spread its wings wide, a croon resounding across the battefield as the dry, arid air of the Sandstorm was whipped away by a freezing breeze that preceded a rain of solid hail.

The barrier held strong as the Garchomp tore through the earth like it were water, repelling back the dragon.

"These guys always look so angry, even the ones friendly as a Yamper." Doug said, scratching at the back of his head while thinking of Zac Ramsay's Rocko.

"Not nearly!" He calls as the sand turns to hail. "Don't let her win Secta, Sandstorm!"

Dust and Hail collide and combine striking against each other as the field swings between the two climates, what would come from the rapid change if this weather-based fight continued, well who was to say.

Small chunks of Ice and Rock would rain down on the two as the sandstorm took control of the field once again. "Dragon Rage on the Frosmouth." He calls to the Garchomp peering through the sleet and sand. On command, an orb of dangerous draconic energy would fly toward the temporary water type all the while Secta would close the distance making sure she'd be able to support her partner in the rounds to come.

"Fine by me, have it your way." Doug said with a chuckle, before swinging his arm. "But let's even the odds first!"

The Araquanid shone a dull red as it looked eyes onto the Garchomp as it moved to attack the Frosmoth. A bizzarre lightshow followed soon after, before the Araquanid began to feel... stronger than before, physically and... energically(?)

For the Garchomp however, the experience was likely the complete opposite.

For her part, the Frosmoth, a cunning special attacker, saw her opportunity, flashing brightly as she blasted back the dragon's rage with burning fae light to overpower the weakened, disadvantageous attack and strike back in one fell swoop!

In the twisting burning winds, what looked like an easy target to the Frosmoth wasn't quite so. As the Dazzling Gleam bursts through the dragon rage the Fairy-type technique would slam against stone and steel containers flying through what felt like a mirage of the Landshark. Its Sand Veil ability hiding it in the desert squall.

"X-scissor!" He'd order from the Armaldo who'd leap to face the water type Frosmoth, all the while Garchomp bided its time. With the sandstorm at its second phase, it was time.

Miles would slide a hand through his hair revealing an ornamental gem in his hair tie. A scientist who helped perfect infinity energy ought to use mega evolution, no?

"Enough testing the waters. Pistri, we're going all out! Iron Head!"

In a flash of light, the Garchomp would be revealed transformed, its body sharper more volatile now. Alongside its physical changes the pokemon's speed and attack would have increased exponentially despite the afore used power split. Boosted now by Sand Force the Garchomp with incredible speed would blast through the storm eager to knock down the Moth pokemon with its Sand Force boosted Iron Head.

The Frosmoth flapped its wings, a sour croon echoing as the Armaldo's X-scissor scrapped against furred body.

Nonetheless, it managed burst forth while the Armaldo was in the Air, rushing towards the Garchomp, wings flowing with power. As the Garchomp mega evolved, Doug tipped his hat, muttering.

"The gloves are off, huh? Power's got its charm." Pity he hadn't brought a Mega of his own to the party; well, no taking things back now. "But so do tactics. Boys- let's pull out a few tricks! No wasting energy!"

The Garchomp had become more powerful, but it nonetheless had abandoned its veil for greater power.

As the Garchomp rushed forth-

The Araquanid appeared before it, its water bubble absolutely massive as it thrust itself into the Garchomp-

just as the Frosmoth came near, swinging both wings forth, unleashing a powerful blizzard upon the water bubble, intent on freezing it completely with the dragon inside!

"Very clever!"

Miles grins as the Garchomp finds itself suspended in water with the Araquanid. It'd been a long while since he'd found himself in such an interesting situation. We can't let that happen. Secta! Cut off the moth with rock blast! As the Moth attempted to freeze the Garchomp with its blizzard an assortment of Stones would fly through the blistering desert winds directly at the Moth allowing the dragon enough time to launch its next technique. While Submerged it was only a breath away from the water spider pokemon. If it wanted to test the Garchomp at close range, then the Miles and the dragon herself welcomed the attempt.

For the amount of water surrounding them, Miles was confident the pokemon could burn it all away. "Fire Blast."

And so with its maw steam began to spill superheating the bubble until all that remained was a massive steam cloud in the heart of the sandstorm.

Had it been its usual Bug and Ice type, such an attack would have perhaps made its focus crumble.

It was a water-type, though. So while it did lurch as it was stricken by two boulders...

"It's gonna be a loud one!" Doug said as his Araquanid erected a barrier around itself... and the Frosmoth swung its wings, unleashing its blizzard.

A massive explosion rocked the arena as the steam around the Garchomp detonated, the mushroom cloud rising through the air as the windows nearby shattered to pieces and freight containers were turned to scrap.

Everything has to give at some point, and this too was no exception.

Miles throws his arm out, "Secta Protect!"

And so the Armaldo does a peaceful blue barrier raises standing against the blast contrasting the chaos of the fight. As for both Frosmoth and Garchomp both closer to the epicenter of the explosion who was to say.

Containers blow over and arm comes to Miles' face in an attempt to shield himself from the blast. Even the ground shakes in the combustion, still, The trainer doesn't falter.

Smokes Rises and spins in the dust storm, and Miles decides to go for it. "Dragon Rush!"

All is silent for a moment too long, and Miles' worries that the pokemon hadn't made it through, but glints of purple shine through the smoke, and in one singular dash the dragon reveals itself covered in a brilliant oversoul of purple, its aura in the shape of a dragon all on its own. Blast towards the Frosmoth with all of its power.



The Dragon hadn't much left in him, but it wouldn't yet go down.

It was all fixing to be a proper finish.

"We got a proper finisher in our hands 'ere!" Doug said as the explosion came to a close, hand clamped atop his hat and grin wide as he swiped across the air. "Freeze 'im to his core, Lepi!"

Rising over the mass of smoke with a graceful flap of her wings hurt and dirtied, the Frosmoth released an echoing croon as she spread her wings wide, a white gleam surrounding her form, seemingly tripling her wing span.

With a flap of its wings, it unleashed an absolute avalanche upon the and whipping, frozen gale upon the charging dragon, the breaths of both trainers becoming clearly visible as the sands were whipped back by its sheer force.

... After staring for a moment, the Araquanid casually, sneakily launched itself at the Armaldo with Liquidation, it's water bubble enlarging to cover the entirety of its body before it began to expel pressurized water back, turning it into a massive, charging bubble of watery death.
