Having made it no secret among those in Rocket who'd expressed interest in the tournament, Gavin assumes that Bryan knows who he's truly up against when Liam King is announced as his opponent.

Having suffered a few losses by now, Gavin's looking to win.

A werewolf with midnight blue fur snarls upon release from its capsule, pupils shrinking as they adjust to the sun.

Gavin waits for Bryan to release a Pokemon, then whistles. Like a runner on their mark, Lycanroc crouches. Gavin clicks his tongue and it springs forth with NO GUARD and FIRE licking at its paws. It throws a violent PUNCH when it's close.

Bryan was starting to get more involved in this tournament. Glory to be won and all of that good shit, to be honest he just wanted money and he wasn't exactly sure if he could win a cash prize or something like that, but if he won a bunch of battles then that meant that he could at least put a fair argument in with Rocket to pay him a bit more as he needed more moolah! Bryan didn't recognize the name, then profusely began to let down sweat drops when he realized his opponent was gavin.

"Fuck fuck fuck" he whispered to himself as he had to at least appear calm, he couldn't let people know they had a connection. In typical rocket underhanded tactics, before Bryan even saw the opponent's pokemon his was already getting slammed, and by a fire type move no less! Bryan had to recover as it was obvious just by looking at Gogoat it took a good amount of damage. "Grassy terrain! go!" as Gogat let out a pulse of green fog onto the floor and it started to heal ever so slightly and it grew slightly puffier on account of it's grassy pelt activating.

In spite of his best efforts to appear calm, Gavin glimpses through Bryan's veneer with practiced ease. A smile curls his lips.

Lycanroc cackles gleefully as its punch connects, but the Gogoat shows resilience as grass springs up between the cracks in Slateport pavement. It's bright, verdant, unaffected by the withering Hoennian sun above, and it seems to bolster the Pokemon's coat.

Interesting.

Gavin clicks his tongue, and Lycanroc lunges in an attempt to bowl over its opponent, PLAYING ROUGH.

Next it was a play rough and Bryan saw just how relentless and savage this lycanroc's fighting style was. Fine if that's how he wanted to play it then he'd return the favor "Grab him with a vine whip!" he said as two vines emerged from the goat's bushy leaf coat.

The vines slapped at Lycanroc at first to try and stun him and then aimed to wrap it's vines around it's limbs to try and restrain it from doing damage and raise it in the air till grassy terrain could restore it's health. God this thing was rather terrifying.

Vines lash out and wrap around the Lycanroc's limbs, restraining.

A pitched click of Gavin's tongue instructs the werewolf to retaliate, and it does so by LASHING OUT, one swipe of its claws looking to cut through its bindings before it lunges for the Gogoat with another.

It has been trained to be nothing but vicious.

[attr="class","bryanbody"] Where Lycanroc was trained to be vicious and savage, Bryan's was freshly caught and on top of that it's training consisted of only helping him carry and move stuff for him. He should've been a lot of things during this battle, but cautious was not one of them. He had to shape up or else Gavin's pokemon was going to completely overwhelm him. [break][break]

The vine's released Lycanroc easily as the opponent pokemon's natural strength completely surpassed gogoat's and the lash out was much faster than any speed gogoat could muster. If he was a close range fighter then.. "Gogoat! Seed bomb, now." he orders as his frustration was leaking out like venom in every word.

"Mm, someone's getting a little heated." It's not the steady voice of Gavin but Liam King's Galarian lilt, edged with a purr. "Best not to lose your temper, we have an audience."

He turns to their spectators with a mocking bow.

Behind 'Liam's' swagger, the advice of an underboss is concealed: Keep your head level.

Seed bombs burst against Lycanroc's hide, and it snarls. Gavin's whistle is pitched and peculiar. Lycanroc's limbs begin to pulse with energy that swirls around Gavin as well, drawing upon the bond between trainer and Pokemon.

The earth shakes before SPLINTERED STORMSHARDS of jutting rock erupt from beneath the Gogoat's feet, aiming to impale. It decimates the grassy terrain beneath their feet. The pavement crumbles and cracks under fissures.

Destroy part of the environment - complete!

[attr="class","bryanbody"]Shit! A Lycanroc Z move?! Bryan hadn't seen this move before and while it seemed to deal a great amount of damage, Bryan was more worried about the fact that his grassy terrain was destroyed almost immediately. [break][break]

Crap, he's ruining gogoat's strategy with just a single Pokémon. This lycanroc was a seriously well trained Pokémon and it was apparent that Gavin was reading Bryan like an open book with his comments. [break][break]

He gritted his teeth and bit his tongue. Very well then "Gogoat, Leech seed." he ordered with a much silent rage. Gogat puffed up it's leafy coat and spread seeds on lycanroc's body that slowly spread vines that instead of restraining him grabbed onto it tightly.

Bryan's irritation is noted, offset by Gavin's calm.

Brilliant blooms of verdant green burst against the werewolf's rocky hide, and Lycanroc grumbles its discomfort after an unsuccessful attempt to shake them free. They drain his energy, sapping strength, but he does not back down.

A click of Gavin's tongue sees the distance closed between Lycanroc and Gogoat.

When it's drawn near, the canine lashes out with a display of its skill in CLOSE COMBAT, scoring sharp claws along the goat's hide.

The close combat lands on gogoat making it cry out in pain from the extremely offensive move. He is begining to look really rough and the leech seed's drain was doing very little to restore it's energy. [break][break]

"Now! Vine-whip his arms and toss him!" he calls out as the gogoat attempts to grab the pokemon by his arms and throw him away to create some distance.

Predictably, the NO GUARD Lycanroc makes no attempt to avoid the snaking vines. They tangle around its limbs and hold it fast, hurling it across the field where it skids across the ground, growling. Its claws leave deep gouges in the earth.

But though it excels at close combat, it's not without tricks for distance.

Gavin clicks his tongue, and the splinters of rock created by its earlier z-move shatter apart and form a ROCK SLIDE that targets the Gogoat. Not a particularly effective move, but it plays into their strategy...

[attr="class","bryanbody"]Bryan had no options, he had to sit here and get sand bagged pretty much because of his inability to prepare for situations like this. He mentally yelled at himself for his fuck ups, it's like gavin had a magnet to see when bryan was going to fuck some shit up. [break][break]

The rockslide makes contact with the gogoat as his pokemon looked visibly tired and pretty wounded, but bryan refused to give up. "Gogoat! Milk drink!" he says as he tosses a bottle of milk with the cork off towards gogoat and gogoat somehow manages to catch it in it's mouth and drink the milk. [break][break]

But it seemed like it's wounds were too severe for any kind of magical milk powers to really heal very much. It seemed to heal it's spirit more than anything as Gogoat buckled down and stomped it's foot at Lycanroc.

It should spell the slow end of their battle.

Gogoat had the capacity to recover, could refresh its grassy terrain to increase its defense, and Lycanroc's NO GUARD ensured that it couldn't dodge whatever supereffective moves were leveled at it. bryan delarosa should, theoretically, have the advantage.

But there's a reason Gavin's cycled through every one of Lycanroc's moves.

A sharp whistle, a click of his tongue.

A signal to use their LAST RESORT.

Lycanroc lunges for Gogoat with reckless abandon, teeth bared and claws extended. It looks as if it won't stop before Gogoat is torn to shreds.

Gavin's hand rests on his pokeball, ready to call it back before it could kill the poor goat.

Oh crap, a big attack was coming. Bryan had no idea what to do, the milk drink worked but he knew this attack was gonna be too big for Gogoat to handle as is. He only had one option and had to pray that he wasn't about to have a pokemon die. "Gogat! Grassy terrain! Activate your grassy pelt!" he shouts mentally praying. [break][break]

The grassy terrain was thrown out sloppily, only really covering a small area that gogoat was in as it's grass pelt fluffed up into a ball to try and block the attack. It did manage to lessen the blow, nothing sharp at least puncturing gogoat but he was sent flying back towards Bryan. The only thing stopping it from killing bryan too was the fact that Bryan managed to recall it before it hit him and saving it from dying. [break][break]

"Alright, I know when im outclassed. I forfeit." he says putting both of his hands up. "You win." he admits defeat before a pokemon has to die for him.
