With no more designated targets from higher ups, and no higher ups themselves coming to challenge her, Plank is left to wander the beach without much direction. Challenging people actively isn't something she has much desire to do, but she wants to fight more . . . it's a pretty petulant position to hold but if that isn't just how she is sometimes.

So she picks a spot of empty beach and squats down while waiting for someone to do the hard part for her. While she waits for someone to challenge her she putzes around, alternating between glaring out into the sea of people and drawing patterns in the sand.

Robbin had no idea what she was doing, or what was really going on. There were a bunch of people battling within slateport beach. It wasn’t a war, just a lot of friendly and competitive trainers going at it… for some reason.

Robbin looked around the beach for a free person to bother. She was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of trainers and pokemon. She ended up spotting a clear and calm spot occupied by a single young girl. Was she waiting for someone?

Robbin made her way over, dodging and weaving through people and attacks that were going left, right, up and down. There were people even in the sky if she looked up! Now standing in front of the lone girl she holds her two balls in one of her hands.

“Want to do a double battle?” Robbin wasn’t shy, so she just squatted and blurted it out without an introduction. Robbin was at least happy to see someone close to her own age out here in the fray so she wouldn’t have to challenge someone with towers of experience over her.

“Oh, I’m Robbin by the way, just so you know who to hate when I win,” She teased playfully.

[attr="class","sunshine"]Plank's eyes are on the sand when a challenger finally approaches. Her left pointer finger is in the middle of drawing something crude when a pair of shoes come into a view, and then she nearly topples over onto her ass when she looks up just in time for the other girl to drop down. Suddenly she's face to face with a stranger.

A stranger who seems to know exactly what she wants.

It's entertaining, the blunt first impression Robbin makes. Plank doesn't miss the way the request for a battle comes before her name.

"Why the hell not," she replies, shrugging as she stands. As if she weren't sitting here waiting for someone to ask the question Robbin just did.

"Hope ya battle as well as ya banter," Plank says, walking back a few paces so they have a proper battlefield between them.

"Ya can call me Bonnie," she continues, turning around to face Robbin again, "'n' since I'm so nice, ya can take the first move."

Once she's done talking Plank rifles through her pockets for two pokeballs. When she's got one for each hand she tosses them out in front of her, revealing Grog and Livewire. Her Gyarados and Lanturn.

Grog waits for the arrival of his opponents, eager to test their mettle with an INTIMIDATING glare.

- Jaws' Hyper Cutter activates, their attack stat staying while Penni the Empoleon’s drops.


- Jaws goes for a Crunch of the Gyarados.

- Penni uses Scald on the Lanturn.

Robbin could tell she would like the girl, Bonnie as she had introduced herself, started to speak. She expected meek and quiet but instead she got a fun tongue to listen to for the battle. Robbin would do her best not to put her foot in her mouth during this battle. She watched two water types be released and her eyes brightened as she looked at them.

“Nice!” Robbin complimented her competitors' pokemon and then threw two of her balls out. A mawile and empoleon were released in streaks of red and white. They took position in front of their blue haired trainer.

The mawile, Jaws, remains unwavered by the intimidating glare of the gyarados thanks to their hyper cutter ability. Penni, the empoleon doesn’t stand so proud and tall against the large water/flying type’s harsh glare.

“Thanks,” there was a brief pause, everyone waiting for Robbin to make her first move.

“Jaws, use Crunch on the gyarados! And Penni, Scald on the lanturn,” The mawile was quick to move, lunging at their opponent with an unhinged back jaw threatening to snap with a crushing force.

Penni wasn't as fast, but soon a piping hot jet of water came rushing from their beak hurling at the electric fish.

[attr="class","sunshine"]Plank wets her lips as the battle gets properly started. The girl and her pokemon do well to stay confident in the face of Grog, it's a good sign for what's to come.

"Let 'em do what they will!" she shouts to Grog and Livewire, "let's make the most of it! If they come t' ya, make 'em hurt! If they don't, play our game!"

Heeding their trainer's commands, her Gyarados and Lanturn stand strong in the face of the attacks coming their way. The first to hit is Mawile's CRUNCH.

Grog flinches as sharp teeth dig into his scales, but he doesn't back down. The Mawile has put itself voluntarily within pointblank range. Without hesitation the Gyarados opens his own maw wide over the smaller pokemon and lets loose a torrential FLAMETHROWER.

Livewire's actions are less dramatic. The hot SCALD beats against her side, but the Lanturn's resistance to the move takes all the punch out of it. The only worry is the residual ache on her rubbery skin, a potential burn. She'll worry about it if it sticks.

Instead of responding to the Empoleon in kind, Livewire skirts around the edge of the battlefield closer to Grog. On her way she turns and wiggles in a strangely choreographed RAIN DANCE. Clouds gather above the field and begin to drop fat raindrops onto the heads of the combatants.

- Jaws and Penni use Iron Defense!

Robbin felt a flutter of panic as she watched a Flamethrower send her mawile tumbling and rolling into the sand to quickly snuff the flames. Of course the water type knew Flamethrower to melt her poor steel babies. It made her think about reevaluating her own teams moveset.

She was pleased to watch the lanturn become burned from the Scald. Though, it completely ignored the empoleon and went towards Jaws instead. The penguin lingered back, watching lanturn use Rain Dance.

“Iron defense 2.0!” Robbin said gleefully, like it was a catchphrase she was just getting to try out. She felt like a dork after, but kept her confidence high. Both of her pokemon used Iron Defense, glistening with an iron sheen for a moment and sharply boosting their defense.

Robbin wasn’t sure what the Rain Dance was setting up, but she didn’t like it.

Her pokemon proceeded to change places, the empoleon making a wall between their ally and the opponents. “Good, it’s a team battle!” She cheered as she watched Penni, her semi-tank act like a tank.

Less than 11 and the flamethrower burns
