Apparently Raphael came at a time where Hoenn was at it's liveliest. Some H✩T Festival or what not. So before he would go to the rondevu point to find the submarine Hoenn's Rocket branch operated out of. Pryde figured he would see what this little festival was. On top of that he'd visit the casinos here, counting cards and near himself some extra money. [break][break]

He played with the chips in his good enough, enjoying the feel of them against his hand before folding after his hand was dealt. It's been a few rounds now and from his count the probability of a good hand would come soon.

The bait is taken, and not just by those he was playing with. The first three cards are shown and his face alters some almost like he wasn’t expecting but he was. The old man has been giving a fake tell for the past hour for times like these as he ‘hesitantly’ raises which encourages others to raise. ”Of course I do,” unlike his mask with the players he does little to hide his sarcasm with Theo. Another card dealt and another round of betting goes. ”And I suppose you do too as you wouldn’t have come to sit with me if you haven’t. How’s Asriel?”

As Theo would go to pat his shoulder his arm was quick to act, though not of his own accord. A tight grip would be had on Theo’s wrist to prevent the other from touching him. [break][break]

The Rotom in his arm would alert, for a moment squeezing tighter before Raphael finally ordered it. ”Down,” he commands and immediately the arm lets Theo go. ”Apologies,” his sorry was meant more for the table than for Theo, but final best are place as Pryde shows his hand for a win. He doesn’t let himself get baited again though like he did with his boy’s name. ”No I couldn’t” he admits but probably not for the reasons Theo thinks, ”my wife and I raised a strong soldier.” he’s going to ignore the other’s involvement with his son’s training

"Well normally when one goes into a casino it's for drinks and fun," he finishes a drink before he tips a dollar for another, "But now that you're here I'll settle for one of two" why the other brings out this side of him he doesn't know.
