Sam was reminded of KING WAYLAND, from long ago, when Lars started spewing curses and angeredly mumbling. It was comical enough to bring a small smirk to Sam's face.

"I'm not usually one for sweets," he considered the offer a moment. "But if they have lemonade, then I'm game."

Maybe they could have some sort of h✩t shaved ice competition or something. Who knew, right?

"And as for doing something for me upon success, I'll think it over. I'm not a fan of owing favors myself, though I see this task as more part of my job than a friendly favor."

Not that they weren't friends, but also it was literally part of his job, so...

Friendly people like Lars and Alice Godfrey always confused him. They didn't have a reason to help him yet seemed to want to. It wasn't that he didn't understand the whole 'friendship' thing, it was just that even friends wanted a favor. If you didn't return it, who actually let it slide?

Nobody he'd known or witnessed.

"I'll think of something for you to accomplish on Mt. Pyre then, Mrs. Anderson." Something like keeping wildlife at bay? Who knew.

The overhead announced another battle, and the trainer IDs that were associated, along with names. Sam's was mentioned, which had him taking a deep breath.

"I've got another battle. I'm sorry to cut our time short."
