Oscar had yet to have the pleasure of meeting Raphael Pryde. He knew he was a scientist on Rocket's payroll, but that was just from spending too much time around Lulu Flint. Eh--let's face it, you can never spend too much time with Lulu. That was another matter, for now it was time to get acquainted with today's opponent.

Oscar provided Pryde a raised hand in greeting, unaware how well the one armed scientist would know about him. The beast's expression remained kind, though more or less he was attempting to be neutral. Smiling was starting to hurt his cheeks.

"Hey there uh, guess we're up against each other. Double battle sound alright? I have a combo I've been meaning to try."

Naturally Raphael knows who is coming toward him. The old man made it a point to learn not only of those at the head of Rocket, but also those who were seen as powerful. The beast were common knowledge for him, so he is amused at being approached as he's far from what he used to be. [break][break]

Oscar chuckled at Pryde's gaff, pointing finger guns at him to indicate that he had indeed seen what he did there. As his amusement faded, Oscar pulled two pokeballs off of his belt. "Well then I say we get started. I'll take the first move, you'll see why in a moment."

Oscar opened his capsules, releasing Hatred the Tyranitar and none other than the king of Garchomps himself: Mustakrakish. The two stretched a bit, preparing for what should be a rough fight. Oscar gave no verbal commands, simply snapping his fingers when he wanted them to begin.

Sand was kicked up around Hatred, and it quickly spread as wind began to rush through the arena. Soon what was a mild annoyance of stray sand became a billowing Sandstorm, thanks not to a move but Hatred's innate ability Sand Stream. Hatred roared as the storm reached its apex, slamming a leg forward to send a series of jagged rocks jutting toward Pryde's Golisopod (Stone Edge).

Meanwhile, Mustakrakish had disappeared. Thanks to his Sand Veil, he had slipped into storm seamlessly and now hid amongst the raging sand. His location would be revealed only when a blast of Scorching Sands would burst forward toward the side of Pryde's Grapploct.

”That depends, are you fast enough?” Raphael simply chuckles as he snaps his fingers as well. After the Beast even as if to show off his pokemon’s speed. So before the STONE EDGE ended up striking it’s target the Golisopod would use FIRST IMPRESSION on the Tyranitar. It wasn’t the best target, but with the Sand Veil picking up, seeing the other was difficult. [break][break]

Grapploct meanwhile tries to keep their guard up as their opponent seems to have blended into the sand. Before the Scorching Sand ends up burning him. So in retaliation they would attempt to grab them for a SEISMIC TOSS.

Hatred's eyes widened as the Golisopod burst forward, its speed too much for his eyes to track. The bug warrior slammed into his stomach, knocking the air out of Hatred. The Tyranitar placed its claws on its opponent's back, growling as it fought through the pain. It breathed in deeply, reeling its neck back before lurching forward. His maw was opened wide, crackling with electricity that he would attempt to inject into the Golisopod (Thunder Fang).

Mustakrakish's attack nailed its target, and as the spunky octopus attempted to retaliate the Garchomp king would already have blended back into the raging sandstorm. He ran to the right, diving toward the Grapploct's side with a claw raised. The claw would quickly be brought down, surging with draconic energy as it tried to smash against its target (Dragon Rush).

With them in a dangerous situation, and the Golisopod’s cowardice nature being at its core. They aim to protect the team, going for WIDE GUARD to protect both himself and his partner. Protecting both pokemon from the Thunder Fang and Dragon Rush. [break][break]

With no longer needing to protect itself from the Dragon Rush, Grapplock is able to attack freely before the dragon could leave. This time they would be sure they didn’t escape into the sand before grabbing hold with it’s tentacles and tossing the Garchomp with SEISMIC TOSS. The octopus makes the attempt to throw them into Tryranitar.

Mustakrakish growled as his claw smacked against a shield. The surprise indeed stunned him long enough to be latched onto by his opponent and effortlessly thrown toward his ally. Hatred's own attack clinked against the Golisopod's wide guard, recoiling him away as Mustakrakish came hurdling toward him.

Hatred saw his ally coming, opening his arms to catch the flying Garchomp on impact. It was the world's most painful hug, nearly knocking the Tyranitar over as he latched onto his friend. Musta was dropped, Hatred heaving as he tried to regain his composure. Garchomp slowly stood, looking to the Grapploct with burning hatred.

He would turn on his heels, slamming his claw into the sandy ground. Sand began to swarm the octopus, aiming to encase him in a Sand Tomb for daring to humiliate the Garchomp King. As for Hatred, he knew he would need more time to recover--yet he couldn't let the pressure off of the Golisopod. He stomped his foot, sending another series of jagged stones toward the frightening bug to keep him busy (Stone Edge).

The Grapploct grunts as the SAND TOMB traps him, the sand coming up and hurting. However it was willing to keep going, running forward Grapploct would try to aim its SUPERPOWER at Garchomp. [break][break]

However unlike the fighting type, Golisopod was quite terrified of how far the battle was going on. As STONE EDGE was coming at them, rather than taking it to try and fight back. It tries to protect itself with DEFENSE CURL to reduce the damage. Pryde makes note to have them corrected later.

Oscar was--concerned about the Golisopod. The poor creature was not having a good time, and he was a bit scared that it was gonna be traumatized after this. Oscar made his concern known to his opponent, "Hey is he gonna be okay? He looks like he's about to piss hims-oh fuck!"

Hatred was running up to the curled Golisopod, not giving two shits about how scared it was. He swung his massive body around, attempting to slam his opponent with an Iron Tail.

The Grapploct was putting up a much more formidable fight, a fact that Mustakrakish much appreciated. He'd take a challenge over a short fight any day. The Garchomp roared as he charged to meet his foe, matching its attack with a Brutal Swing from his claws. He would take some damage, but the flash and ferocity would be worth it.

"Does it matter? He'll learn to battle properly soon enough," Pryde says uncaring about the other's concern for his pokemon. His pokemon were either to properly preform, or they would be corrected. He doesn't care about their so called feelings and he doesn't care if the crowd or his fellow Rockets knew it. [break][break]

Golisopod is knocked back by the IRON TAIL, figuratively being back into a corner. Pryde would give another whistle for an order, not sure what else to do it follows. A red aura comes around it before it explodes out ward to strike at both of their foes with STRUGGLE BUG. [break][break]

Meanwhile Grapploct feels himself getting weaker, but he was going to keep on trying. As the Struggle Bug also goes for his opponent, he would try a ROCK SMASH.

Eh, Pryde had a point. Rocket got into fights often, if pokemon were gonna survive they would certainly need to toughen up. This golisopod wouldn't get far in a real fight curling up in a ball. Luckily, golisopod wouldn't use its next move to hide. It struck out, attempting to attack both Hatred and Musta. Grapploct attacked as well, sending a double whammy toward the duo.

Hatred snarled, looking to Musta. Musta looked back, giving a reassuring nod. This fight was rough, and they were both feeling their share of pain, but they'd get through it together.

The two gathered together and switched targets. Hatred would stomp the ground, water pooling under the cracks he created. The water mixed with the sand, making a filthy mixture that he would launch at the Grapploct to hopefully stop it in its tracks (Muddy Water). Meanwhile Musta aimed himself toward Golisopod, opening his mouth wide as fire spurred between his jaws. He would roar toward the warrior insect, sending a massive blast of flame its way. A Fire Blast, if you would.

There was a panic in the bug as it saw the FIRE BLAST coming at it, in the end it had to make an EMERGENCY EXIT back to his pokeball. Giving up the match in the end. Not like it would've survived the Fire Blast in the first place, but the cowardice was still disgraceful. Though if it was afraid now it will know fear for letting him down. [break][break]

The Grapploct had come to learn loyalty in this tournament though. It braces for the muddy water, it's legs are weak and it's shaking shows how tired it is. It would try for one final SEISMIC TOSS on his new opponent. See how far it would get him.

Grapploct was on its last legs, and Hatred knew exactly how to finish him off. He let out a low growl, signaling Musta to be ready. Having just ejected their other opponent, Musta was indeed able to gather his focus and transfer it to the Grapploct.

Hatred roared as he charged forth, running straight into the Grapploct's attack. The mid-sized octopus had incredible strength, Hatred felt himself being lifted and thrown like a doll. The power of fighting types would never cease to amaze him. He was tossed only a short distance due to his weight, but the force was enough to send shockwaves of agony throughout his body. Hopefully the pain was worth it, as his sacrifice was just a distraction so that Musta could finish the fight.

Musta charged behind Hatred, preparing an attack to hit the Grapploct with while it was busy throwing the heavy Tyranitar. As Hatred was thrown, Musta dived in to deliver a Dragon Rush slam.

In the end there was no saving it. He couldn't go up against both pokemon, nor could he go up against the DRAGON RUSH that came. As he's hit the Grapploct goes down. Pryde makes sure to note to reward them for their efforts. 'Lloyd' returns the octopus and gives the other a smile, "Good work, I expected nothing else."
