With the frozen ground rumbling beneath him, he looked around wildly. A shrieking noise was the warning before he barely managed to scramble out of the way and a massive Steelix revealed itself, roaring.

“Whoa. What the hell!” he hissed as the Steelix let out a ripping Screech that shook the cavern. Stuffing his fingers into his ears, he wondered what had awoken the gigantic behemoth.

…suspiciously there was no snarking deity in the back of his mind, for now.

Taking the hint before his particular cavern caved in on him, Lars beat a hasty retreat down another passageway, putting as much distance between himself and the Steelix as possible.

Who knew what the fuck else it was capable of.

The next thing he encountered reminded him of something—about a certain Pokémon he’d caught a long time ago.

However, unlike Koude, this Abomasnow wasn’t as psychotic or a child-eater unlike the one he currently had in his possession.

There was—also a reason why he didn’t use Koude that often.

What if the Abomasnow went on another rampage?

He sighed, before diverting away from the path of the incoming Abomasnow.

The shadow that darted by was swift.

Lars barely caught sight of it before another roaring shook the cave.

“Oh, come on! Don’t tell me—” he groaned as he looked around, trying to pinpoint where the attacker was. This was going to be—

And there it was, off to one side, the very same Glalie that tried to eat him before on that fateful trek into the deepest underbelly of Shoal Cave, back again to finish the job.

“Really?” was all he drawled, unamused. The deity wasn’t around, so…

It was time to engage in Mortal Kombat; once and for all.

While the two were circling each other, the shadow of that very same Glaceon was watching from behind a rock.

Who knew if the Glalie was a cannibalistic monster, driven mad? Was it just like Koude?

“No more terror,” he hissed as he approached, conjuring up as many small shards of ice he could muster between his hands and sending them flying. “No more terrorizing all the other Pokémon in this cave!”

The Glaceon watched in silent awe from its hiding spot—how could a human of all things do that?! Conjure up ice like it was nothing?!

As the Glalie had been repelled away—eventually Lars knew the asshat would return—he turned around to feel something bumping against his leg softly.

“Hm? Wha—” he trailed off, before seeing that there was something trying to call his attention. His mind very nearly flipped over because it was one of the last few Ice-types he needed!

“Were you being chased by that Glalie?” he asked, waiting for the deity to interpret should the Glaceon speak up. Instead, the Ice-type nodded.

“Wait, are you scared of me? Or—no wait, you can’t be, you’re the one who approached me—” he trailed off, embarrassed as he crouched down and then concentrated, watching the air crystallize into ice before offering a ‘frost flower’ to the Glaceon.

“Not much, but… here.”
