The little league's stadium broke into a massive, excited cheer as the elementary school baseball game was brought to a sudden halt, an unexpected, impromptu half-time show making the players excitedly scramble for their dug outs as the cameras swiveled towards 4 young challengers, their faces appearing over the kiss cam on a 4-way split.

Doug blinked at himself on the screen, hot dog still in his mouth.

"I, Mr. Referee, shall be act as referee!" Declared the referee in a booming voice as he swung an arm. "Cardamom Bliss !"

Swing!

"Jessie Cunningham!"

Swing!

"Harry Poultergist!"

Swing!

"Captain Sullivan!"

How did this man continue to find him?!

A thought he really need to perhaps explore more thoroughly now that this had happened for the 5 time. Really, he should've suspected it by the third, but he was too nice.

Swallowing down his hot dog whole and drinking his entire can of Dr. Pika in one gulp, the youth swung himself over the first row railing of the stadium and landed onto the sand, patting himself before looking around the baseball field. Two others had stood up and begun approaching the field.

Looking around for the last one, his gaze finally fell on them, a smile splitting his cheeks as he raised a hand and waved as he began approaching the field's first base. They seemed familiar- as if he had seen them before. Definitely not spoken to, however; he was pretty good at remembering people!

The pitcher's mound lighted up with the symbol of a pokeball as the Silph-brand battlefield was erected around the court, a protective barrier raising over them to keep the intensity entirely within the confines of the battle.

Cardamom had also blinked a bit when the camera suddenly swiveled onto him, and the Teddiursa sitting in his lap. Shin let out a little roar, showing off his claws for the camera, before hopping off Cardamom's lap and hurrying down towards the field. Cardamom quickly ran after the scampering little bear, catching up to him just before he was about to hop the fence. He smiled, waving at the rest of the competitors.[break][break]
"Well, I didn't expect my next match to happen like this," he admitted, "but at least Shin's ready for it!" The Teddiursa wriggled out of his trainer's arms even as this was being said, running onto the field and holding up a claw to the sky as if daring everyone else to come at him.

Doug admitted, somewhere between laughing and squeezing the bridge of his nose, glaring at the weird referee man high up in the radio tower near the field.

The man would just not let him be free even one day, it seemed.

Oh well... At least he was helping scratch things off his list.

Doug and the other two challengers grinned as @cardamom showed off little Shin, each enchanted with the little bear's cuteness in their own way, even as they each fished into their belts for their own pokemon

Seeing the chosen arena, Doug decided to throw out his trusty Lurantis onto the battlefield, patting her head as she politely bowed at her many opponents.

One of the other challengers took their turn next, reeling back before throwing out onto the field a Magmar.

"Anyway... It's a pleasure to meet'y'all today! Let's have a clean match, eh?" he said wryly, grinning as he turned his gaze to Cardamom. "'Ey- sorry if it's a bit random, but haven't we seen each other 'fore?"

Despite the large discrepancy in size between him and his two opponents so far, Shin didn't seem cowed by the competition at all, even when the next contestant's Pokeball opened, revealing a Rhyhorn snorting and pawing at the ground. He simply let out a nother growl, crouching as his fur bristled and he prepared to watch the scene and see who to go for first.[break][break]
"Hm?" asked Cardamom. "Oh, well, my family has a food booth set up, and I help out there sometimes. Maybe you saw me while I was working there?" He didn't quite remember if he'd served this guy before, but customers tended to blend together after a while.

"Huh. Maybe!" It didn't feel quite right, but he couldn't say where else he might have met him. "Sorry for the random question. Everyone ready, then?"

He looked over their other two opponents, both of whom nodded, before looking back at Cardamom Bliss with a grin.

"All set? Then-!"

"POKEMON, BATTLE!"

"Damn it- RIGHT! Kimono, test the fields! Nature Power!" Ordered the youth with a sweep of his arm, his Lurantis taking two elegant steps forth while bringing her scythes together.

Cracks spread underneath her despite the lightness of her steps, soil rising and upheaving before she suddenly brought her heel crashing down with a ferocious stomp, causing the sandy grounds of the baseball court to surge violently like a river towards the her opponents.

The sandy waves mostly preocuppied the Rhydon, but errant soil could well hit either of the other two opponents as well.

The Rhydon trainer was swift to order a protect, while the Magmar trainer turned her attention immediately to the one pokemon with an obvious weakness to her own, ordering her pokemon to dodge and counter.

The Lurantis' eyes widened as the Magmar leapt high in the air over the earthy attack and reeled back to blast flames down upon her.

-Lurantis used Nature Power. It became Earth Power!
-Rhydon used protect!
-Magmar used Flamethrower!

Further exploration of that question would have to wait, now that the battle had started. Shin seemed mostly ignored by the rest of the opposition for now, dancing and wobbling a bit over the waves of earth before growling a little at the apparent neglect from his opponents. He was about to go charging in, but Cardamom called out a warning, "Shin! Keep your distance for now!" After all, there was a lot of fire and earth being thrown around there. Nodding, the Teddiursa bent down to grab a rock from the ground, Flinging it at the Magmar whose back was now turned to him.

It didn't have much time to glare, though.

"It's on its knees! GET IT!" Shouted Doug, much to the Magmar's trainer horror as the Rhydon's trainer's own gaze swiveled towards it.

Magmar could immediately feel two leers upon it, sweat rolling off its back as the full attention of the Lurantis and Rhydon fell upon it.

WEAKNESS DETECTED!

The Lurantis, who had barely managed to get away from the flames earlier with a few burns along her legs, angrily swung her arms in broad arcs towards the Magmar, releasing streams of purple, psychic energy towards it while the Rhydon reeled back and raised its forelegs in the air before ramming them down, uprooting the root and sending shockwaves of rocks towards the fire-type.

-Magmar used leer on Shin!
-Lurantis used Psycho Cut on Magmar!
-Rhydon used Stone Edge on Magmar!

EVERYONE, PILE ON MAGMAR!

Shin was quite happy to stand back for now and allow the Rhyhorn and Lurantis to pile onto the Magmar, watching with interest at the techniques they utilized. He even let out a few playful claps and cheers to urge them on, in a strangely Charming way directed at the Rhyhorn in particular. Perhaps the rhino Pokemon would notice its physical strength weakening, perhaps not. Either way, Shin was content to continue staying at the edges and letting the other three handle each other. Or perhaps it would be down to two by now...?

The Magmar was getting dogged on hard, but its trainer wasn't about to let herself get kicked out of the fight that easily!

Her orders were shouted out as the Magmar threw itself out of the rocks' path and into the psychic blades' instead, choosing the lesser of two damages and snarling as they smashed into it.

Then, it reeled back fully, before ROAR'ing at all 3 of its opponents, the booming sound rocking the baseball field as a powerful gale blew through, sending the Lurantis flying into the Silph barrier!

"Ah crud! Try to stick the landin', Kimono!"

The Rhydon, for its part, was forced to plant its feet, grasp the earth with its bare paws, and brace against the wind! But... It found its grip much weaker than usual for some reason! And was quickly made to roll over the floor by the roar!

The Magmar finished its roar panting, but glad to have finally some room to itself...

And then it glared furiously at Shin.

Magmar used roar!
Lurantis and Rhydon were blown away!

Well, Cardamom was not expecting that, but it seemed like quite the clever strategy, actually. He winced, covering his ears as the roar reverberated through the arena. Shin was sent flying even harder than the rest owing to his small size, though the distance meant that he wasn't as disoriented. Landing on all fours, he glared right back at the Magmar, before glancing over his shoulder.[break][break]
Cardamom nodded. "Alright, now get in close!" he called. Immediately, Shin took off like a tiny ursine rocket, his claws extended to their full sharpness as he prepared to Slash at the Magmar's chest with all the power in his small bear body.

The Magmar snarled as the little bear met its heated gaze, gnashing its teeth as its trainer gave her own orders to counter Cardamom Bliss's.

The fire-type burst forth with its arm reeled back, fire gathering around its fist as it met the little bear in the middle of the court, flattening the pitcher's mound as fist and claws met with a hot, booming shockwave.

Doug yelped as his hat was nearly blown off his head, but grinned and turned his gaze to Kimono, gesturing with his neck towards the Rhydon as it picked itself up from the floor.

"Let 'em sort themselves out..." He mouthed to her in an attempt at subtlety, winking. The one guy who had an advantage over his Lurantis fighting somebody else? Perfect! "Solar Blade!"

The Lurantis leapt back to her feet before widening her stance, raising a single scythe towards the sky.

The Rhydon's trainer however, keenly aware of the one pokemon with an advantage over his own immediately took notice... And ordered it use Ice beam!

Magmar used fire punch agains Slash!
Lurantis is charging Solar Blade!
Rhydon used Ice Beam!

Cardamom winced, raising a hand as dust and smoke flew everywhere. As the smoke and flames cleared, though, it became clear that while singed, Shin was not yet down. In fact, he was clinging tightly to the Magmar's hand, his own claws digging in just the slightest. Snarling, he used his new position as leverage to lunge at the Magmar's face, claws stretched towards its eyes-and then he angled downwards, landing hard on its bill and delivering a Feint Attack that would hopefully disorient it. For now, he didn't care what those other two were up to. If the Magmar wanted to oppose him so bad, he'd give it all he'd got!

The Magmar attempted to dodge the eye gouging in alarm, and ended up howling as it was smacked across the bill instead, stumbling back before collapsing onto its ass, arms flailing wildly in poor defense.

Kimono shifted her stance barely as the beam of ice came, the cool ray glancing off her hip and leaving it covered in frost while she clicked bit down and her tongue in pain.

But the Rhydon would have no time for a second shot- the golden shine coming from the Lurantis' scythe was blinding.

"Here it goes- Solar blade!" Ordered the youth as the Lurantis shouted and swung down her arm, a long blade of light sweeping downwards to crash unto the Rhydon, blasting it all the way back into the barrier wall, were it slumped down, unmoving.

"RHYDON IS DOWN AND OUT! ONE POKEMON DOWN!"

Magmar used struggle!
Lurantis used Solar Blade!
Rhydon fainted!

"Yeah, you've got this!" cheered Cardamom. "Finish 'em!" He was hopping up and down a little, caught up in the excitement, especially when the announcer mentioned the Rhyhorn being down. That was one less Rock-type for Shin to have to handle! Shin nodded, raising his claws once more for a point-blank two-pawed Slash to properly take out his foe and rival. This Magmar was his new rival, he'd just decided that.
