The Lurantis attempted to counter, arms weaving about in a Mantis Kung Fu like manner to try and parry aside the blow-

But she got bonked from the back anyway and stumbled forward onto her face, springing up and away with her hands going to her nose a moment later.

She wiggled it in pain while panting for a moment before glaring at the little bear.

Her foot rose before it crashed down onto the soil beneath them, turning the sandy pits to a slushing river and sending it flowing at the bear, creating slushy terrain for it to struggle in the process!

Well, that strike had hit, but it hadn't been the game-ender they were hoping for. Not to mention the unstable ground making it pretty hard for Shin to keep his balance at all. He tried to charge towards his opponent again, but even with the short distance between them the roiling earth made that nigh-impossible. Stumbling and growling, he refused to give up just yet, reaching down to grab another rock and Fling it once more.

And in response, the Lurantis raised her arm in the air, generating a massive blade of light with surprising speed.

"Uh. That seems... excessive." Doug said blankly at his pokemon, to which she responded by swinging it down unto the stone the little bear had thrown, effectively pulverizing it before pointing the light blade at it.

Your move, she practically screamed at him.

Doug threw a glance Cardamom Bliss's way, eyes wide and mouth flat.

Shin braced himself to dive to the side away from the blade, then paused when his opponent simply used it to destroy a rock. Was he being taunted? The little bear let out a growl at that, baring his claws. The earth had stopped churning a bit by now, and though the ground was still uneven he started hopping over the ground a little, his claws starting to glow as he tried to reach his opponent in time to deliver his signature Slash. He'd been given a chance not to go down like a chump, and he was taking it!

It had truly been more the Lurantis ill-conceived attempt at sparing the bear an unnecessarily painful experience-

But it seemed as though the Bear did not appreciate it.

As the Teddiursa came for him, the blade of light ignited once again, the swordsmon shouting as he came far too close for confort.

She swung at him with her blade as his own claws raked across her chest painfully, an injury to both body and ego for her arrogance!

Shin let out a growl of triumph as his blow managed to actually injure his opponent, right before the bright gleaming blade came swinging down and knocked him out cold. As soon as the victory was called, Cardamom quickly hurried into the arena to scoop him up, gently checking the bear over for any serious injuries. "Silly little bear," he murmured fondly. "We could have surrendered, you know? But you'd never take that as an option." Despite the slight scolding tone to his voice, he seemed mostly amused by the whole situation.

The Lurantis fell on her butt as her tiny opponent passed out, holding her chest daintly while huffing and puffing, heart beating fast.

"You okay?" Asked Doug as he jogged up to her, squatting down to check on her injury before humming. "Ya'll be fine... Let's get'cha to the Center."

He returned her to the pokeball before turning to face the rest of the trainers, exchanging handshakes with them before turning to the Cardamom Bliss, having saved the best for last.

"Oi, ya two were really impressive, thank you for the awesome battle!" He said as he jogged up to the youth, holding out his hand with a grin. "Hope ya don't mind, but I'll be following yer battles in the tourney looking forward!"
