Well, that man certainly knew how to make an entrance there. It wasn’t something that Eve would do – her own style was more muted and understated, so even though she could have ridden in on a Pokemon, she would not have done so – but she had to admire the guts to try. And he almost, almost pulled it off.

Only he didn’t, because of the getup, and she had to briefly chuckle into her hand regardless. Yes, she was wearing the same kind of stuff. But she didn’t try to won it like he did. Which ended up working out more in this case. Well, in her opinion at least. And what else would matter?
“Good day to you good….” She started, but that man did not believe in introductions, apparently. Yes, they both had Pokemon out, which were now moving into the arena, but she had not expected to be attacked out of the gate like this.

That did cause her to pout and Swablu to flinch, being unable to retaliate for the time being. Though the little one did start to glare at the Dartrix, clearly irked and readying itself so this would not happen again. At least not right away. “Or we can just attack each other like Galarians, I guess. Sucker Punch it right back,” she ordered her Ghastly, which took over for Swablu briefly in the rotation battle and immediately hit the Dartrix in the noggins’, trying to pay it back two-fold right away.

Was he for real? They had perfectly safe trainer boxes like this, where they could give orders, recall Pokemon and all those things without truly experiencing any issues. But since he had to be out there ontop of his Pokemon, he almost fell off. In fact, her eyes widened more in surprise that the people organizing this would even remotely allow this, rather than him getting into trouble.

That was not exactly, well, surprising. She sighed as Gastly took the confusion. But he was rotated out anyway for her own Chandelure, so it had time to get that out of its system. In fact, she was kind of banking on that herself. “Will-O-Wisp,” she ordered it and the ghost sent a burning light at its opposite – so that it could continue burning while it was rotated out. Then, she turned to the trainer. “You do not have a lot of control over your Pokemon, now do you?”

So, he seemed to not take his Metagross into consideration, hm? That did make sense, since he would have to get off of it then. Though she did wonder what that would mean for the battle going forward. Certainly, it would have to come in at some point. At least as long as she did not lose all her Pokemon beforehand.

Fortunately, Chandelure was able to take the Sucker Punch for now. And with a bit of a furious gleam, it unleashed an Inferno right at the Dartrix before it was rotated out, once more being replaced with Swablu, which had somewhat recovered by now, ready to better deal with whatever would come at it next.

It was happening now. Eve was more preoccupied with watching him finally being forced onto the ground. Honestly, she’d been both worried and intrigued, all but forgetting about the battle briefly. Fortunately though, he did manage to land somewhat – even using the suit he so didn’t like at all. Eve wasn’t sure if she could do that, if needed. But that didn’t need be tested anyway.

Unfortunately, he Swablu was now facing a Metagross, trying to grasp it with Psychic. That was enough to snap her back into the battle. “Quick, do the thing,” she calls out to Swablu, referencing their original game plan.
And so, Swablu, despite being held by the psychic….started to sing. Because if a Pokemon fell asleep while flying, it would lose. At least Evette believed so.

Darn, it didn’t fall to the ground. Some Sky Battle this was. Ah, well, one asleep, one still burning, that meant only one of the three was currently without a status condition. And since Swablu was rotating out now for a recovered Ghastly, that one decided to pay the Chandelure back for what happened before.

Before she had flames thrown upon it, the Ghastly instead Sucker Punched the Chandelure – or it tried to at least. Either way, it was definitely going to feel rather smug about this maneuvre. Payback was and had always been something incredibly important to this little ghost for some reason.
Probably had something to do with how it had become a ghost in the first place.

Well, that was some damage at least. Ghastly was burning now, but that was somewhat fine. She would have to deal with that. However, if she predicted this directly, then the next rotation would lead to the Dartrix coming out. And since she was now switching to Chandelure, well, that bird was already burning. Time to add more fire to the mix then.

“Inferno,” she simply said, decidedly trying to sound cool in the process. That was its hardest hitting attack, after all. And after spreading many status effects, she figured that now was the time to go and try and finish off one of the enemies.
