Before the Metagross could throw another attack, the platform spun again—

And brought his Chandelure back to the forefront—the pissy, angry Chandelure whose flames burned so bright before meeting the incoming Moonblast with its own Flamethrower attack.

Who knew if it was going to connect as the platform spun again—

Metagross is rotated out for the :ANGERY: Chandelure that throws a Flamethrower at the Swablu, meeting the Moonblast in the process!

Not so good, really. Swablu was hurt quite a bit – and Chandelure was a fire type, so it took lessened damage from the Moonblast to boot. The little guy tried valiantly to stay in the air, but Eve could see that it was having quite some difficulty with that. Given that there was that super Metagross on the field, too, she decided to recall it just moments before it could faint from the damage.

Instead, Ghastly returned with a vengeance, once again rotating in and immediately Sucker Punching the Chandelure. That was decidedly becoming a thing here. And she was not quite sure why.

After the pissy Chandelure was able to get its revenge—instead of the Metagross walking into the attack, it was the Dartrix that had received the wrath of the Sucker Punch attack.

And now even the Dartrix was mad!

…what was it with Lars’s Pokémon getting mad, anyway?

“Lionel! Don’t lose your cool—” he called to the dual-type before attempting to smack the Gastly with its own Sucker Punch attack.

Chandelure is rotated out! Dartrix walks right into the Sucker Punch attack before returning the exact same attack at the Gastly (also used Sucker Punch)!

These Pokemon definitely had some anger management issues. Ghastly, too, but she had an excuse, she was a ghost. Well, so were some of his, but his team seemed to completely consist of those. And now this battle was devolving into Dartrix and Ghastly Sucker Punching one another until one of them keeled over.

So far, Ghastly was holding on, but how long could she? Really, Eve was close to recalling her but stopped herself, figuring that Ghastly simply wanted to defeat at least one of them before going out. That was something she could respect. “I think all cool was lost long ago in this battle.”

Lars chuckled at the young woman’s statement.

“Clearly. The only one who hasn’t lost his shit yet is Ro over there,” he said as he pointed to the mega-evolved Metagross, who waited for the platform to rotate—and then the platform moved before the Chandelure let loose with a Shadow Ball attack on the Gastly!

“They have issues… Lionel especially. Lucius over here isn’t that violent, he’s just petty.”

Dartrix is rotated out! Chandelure is rotated in and lets loose with a Shadow Ball attack!

Eve arched a brow at that statement. Given that this Metagross had grown into an odd, overgrown version of itself seemingly at random, she would not exactly say that it had completely kept its cool or anything like that. But she didn’t say that out loud. “I guess Ghastly is having a little tantrum, too,” she replied, seeing that one try yet again to headbutt another ghost in submission. However, that was much easier said and done.

And when it caught a Shadow Ball right as it tried to Sucker Punch the newcomer, well, that simply was it. Ghastly, despite its efforts, fainted and had to be recalled. “But it does seem like the team with issues won here today.”
