Well, Pyukumuku had managed to hold on for as long as it needed. The Avalugg had managed to hurt it enough to wheeze and deflate, now also requiring a recall, but not before giving out one final helping hand to her ally.

This was better, but still dangerous. After all, that Avalugg had stacked up its defenses. Sure, Ponyta had the advantage still, but she had taken quite a bit of damage as well, both from the Weavile and from her own recoil.
“Play it safe,” Eve thus ordered, causing Ponyta to send another Flame Wheel at the opponent from afar, not wanting to get in too close for the time being. It was faster, so it felt like it could evade the retaliation. Battles of attrition were always won on the last few moves, after all.
