Izzy's mouth had scrunched up into an embarrassed frown as she'd made it a note that perhaps silence was a better option at times, despite being someone who'd promised herself to be as truthful as possible, she did have a tinge of light-hearted regret, more-so finding it more fun and easier to continue going along with it.[break][break]

Though such a thing had ended up with the young woman being hit with a question she hadn't quite expected, "Well..." she'd been tempted to turn away from her dogma, taking a moment before sighing, "Sure glances and stuff, but... well, I'm not really a very friendly or nice woman," she'd explained, her own flaws weighing heavily on her. While she's tried her best to be a far better person than she used to be ever since what happened back home, it's barely been a couple months since then. People don't change that easily, and Isolde had always felt her own efforts weren't good enough.[break][break]

It had taken a second for Isolde to notice, her mind occupied by her own recollection of her own perceived failures, "Violet?" she'd turned to look for her, witnessing the sudden kidnapping unfold, somehow she'd been just far away enough to avoid having her own consciousness stolen away by the Sleep Powder. Startled, she'd quickly tried to chase after Violet, her pokémon following closely behind—her Bewear, shovelling to pick up the poké balls that had captured new friends and scooping up the younger pokémon that Isolde had out. The Bewear had even tried to catch Violet's Dreepy, somewhat unsure if it was fine on its own, though her own maternal instinct and her trainer's need for them to be fast had her try regardless.[break][break]

As the Ludicolo stirred, Isolde just hadn't had time to pay too much attention to it, "Maple, can you throw Candy and Honey—at the Ludicolo and Ivysaur? Honey, Strength!" She'd quickly hammered out, chasing after the two, taking a moment before a quick addendum, "Candy, Bounce! Sorry!" the Buneary hearing just in time before the Bewear had tossed a pair of fluffy missiles at the wild pokémon, a pair of feet slamming straight into the stirring Ludicolo as the Buneary had bound right off its face and to her trainer's shoulder. Before the Ludicolo could even hit the floor after having been pushed down from the momentum, a poké ball had come flying at it, regardless of whether she caught it or not, Isolde didn't care so long as it hit, she needed that time without it attacking them badly.[break][break]

The second, pink and fluffy projectile that was Honey had seemed to be rather entertained by the feeling of the wind against its face and fur, having a little more fun with the entire situation, Honey had cried out happily before slamming into the Ivysaur by its flowering bulb, Strength-empowered paw first. Isolde continued chasing after, though had hopped the sudden disturbance was enough to at least loosen the Ivysaur's grip on Violet.

Naturally, one did not just shake up sleep powder, even as a human. Fortunately, Violet’s partners were not affected, and they managed to get something done, for the moment at least. While the human partner fought off the Ludicolo, Dreepy flung itself from the Bewear’s arms already again, darting ahead of the others and into the brush, being an infiltrator true to its name.

Meanwhile, the Rattata also took pursuit. It itched to fight the bigger Pokemon in their path, yes, but its worry for its trainer won out this time. Hence, it instead ran into the brushes as well, foraging through the foliage for a bit until it, well, found living foliage. The two smaller Pokemon swiftly communicated with mere glances. Dreepy used Astonish once more, mostly to get the Ivysaur to be briefly distracted. And while that happened, Rattata sprung into action and started chewing through the vines on Violet, freeing her for the time being.
The two of them then took protective positioning around their trainer, hoping for support from the others, while Vio herself, well, she remained asleep, softly breathing through all of this.

"Violet? Violet, wake up!" Izzy had half-whispered half-shouted, more or less coming out as a distressed hiss—snapping her fingers in front of Violet's face with hopes to rouse her from her endangering slumber. Had such a thing not worked, after a brief pause, relenting at first and with a slight frown at how uncouth it may make Izzy seem, the young woman would have tried to shake her somnolent acquaintance awake, not particularly equipped with any other means to do so, nor able to call on her own pokémon to do much without resorting to violence.[break][break]

Regardless, Isolde felt the need to keep her safe until she'd awoken, turning towards the Ivysaur and glancing around for any dangers, her Buneary and Vulpix staying closer to the two girls, and the Bewear and Stufful helping form a perimeter to avoid any more sneak attacks from occurring, "Let's not cause too much of a scene, not anymore than we already have," she'd said aloud, in a somewhat quiet but determined voice. Though ultimately she'd kept her pokémon still, resorting to any more violence than she needed to seemed unnecessary, even if the Ivysaur had seemed somewhat malevolent.

Noise and shaking would probably have worked, had she fallen asleep willingly, had she simply gotten too tired to go on. However, at the end of the day, this sleep was forced upon her. And she could not just break it like that. Though she did seem to get a bit more uneven of a doze when that occurred, for what it was worth.
Thus, she continued on with her snore, while Rattata butted the Ivysaur into the noggin with its own head. The plant-like dinosaur took that cue to simply run away, leaving a victorious, but still miffed little rat in the process. Dreepy joined it and the two Pokemon started something akin to a little discussion briefly, though for the humans in attendance that came across as them just repeating their names over and over.

Once that was done, the Rattata decided to run away, into the brush, apparently looking for something. In the meantime, Dreepy returned and would face the human. “Dreeep. Dreep dreep dreepy.” Clearly, it at least thought that it was informing the human of their plan here. For whatever that might be worth.

With immediate danger out of the way, Izzy focused her attention on waking Violet up, seeing how she couldn't stir the girl from her sleep, Izzy turned to more drastic—mischievous—measures. "Breezy, could I get some light Powder Snow?" She'd said with an impish glint in her eyes. The snow-coloured Vulpix had happily made its way over to Isolde, her hands cupped and outstretched, the small fox pokémon had simply breathed out, an accumulation of soft snow—delicate enough that some of it had already began to melt against the heat of Izzy's own palms—on Izzy's hands. She'd carefully split them into two groups before turning back to Violet.[break][break]

"Violet, how about a morning surprise?" She'd whispered softly, bringing both her hands to the sides of sleeping beauty's neck, before firmly slapping both her hands together, the impact hopefully dampened by just how soft the snow was—if a bit of gentle shaking wasn't enough to wake her up, Isolde had no choice but to wake her up like this, no choice whatsoever. She'd quietly said—whether she was successful or not,[break][break]

"Sorry about that."

Ah, yes, the one thing that could prematurely end the sleep status….
…damage. Not a lot of it, certainly, but there was that kind of sensation. And with the powder slowly wearing off anyway, it was enough to jerk Violet back to awareness. Well, as much jerking as drowsily blinking and briefly looking at the other in a confused state could be considered.[break][break]

However, that only lasted for a few moments, for she soon transitioned into a gentle smile. “Well, aside from the little cold I have to admit that this is not a bad way waking up.” [break]
And yes, it took her approximately no time to get back into teasing mode, even as she started ordering her thoughts still. Rattata quietly nudged her hand, so she gave it a lookover and scratched its head, only now kind of realizing what had happened. For the most part. The foliage all over her shirt and skirt made it rather apparent, after all. “Don’t be sorry though. I am not….fully clear on what happened, but you looked after me, didn’t you?”

A small 'aw' had echoed in the back of Izzy's mind, somewhat disappointed over the reaction she'd gotten from awaking Violet in such a manner—or rather that there hadn't been much. Not a yelp or a jolt of surprise from having something cold as snow touching something as sensitive as one's neck. Though she'd been relieved despite her lack of amusement, at least Violet had indeed woken up.[break][break]

"Maybe this'll be more than a one time thing," she'd teased back, laughing. Isolde had tried her best to help pick off and dust off any twigs and leaves that had gotten stuck to her acquaintance after the Unovan rodeo show that she'd experienced, in a rather doting fashion. Though with Violet's response to her apology she'd smiled quaintly, cheeks rosy, "Oh please, I didn't do much, just chase after you... though I wonder what ever happened to that Ludicolo... it was a little unceremonious but I was in a bit of a hurry," she'd hoped the Ludicolo wasn't still angry, she wasn't sure about capturing it but, she'd rather avoid dealing with another wild pokémon stampede after the ordeal of chasing and trying to rouse Violet from her slumber.[break][break]

Just one moment to rest and catch her breath...

“Hmm, depends on you, I think~” Naturally, she pounced on this. Vio didn’t exactly want to come across as too easy, but she figured that this was a good way to go about this. That could mean quite a few things, after all. Not just willingness, but also success and innovation. Well, as far as she was concerned. Though she had an inkling that the other would take it that way as well

For now, she got up again and watched the other taking care of…a Ludicolo, apparently? Frankly, Vio had not noticed any such thing. But she had been out of commission for a bit, so it was probably that. Taking this chance, Violet cared for her own Pokemon, momentarily recalling all of them after some petting and instead calling for her Poipole. That one was much more at home for nightly danger than the others, and it would prevent her being hit by something like that again at least.
“But don’t sell yourself short, dear. You may only have chased after me, but you clearly did not know that you didn’t have to do more.” Lots of negations in that one, but for a reason. She wanted Izzy to have a mental double-take, so that she focused on the words a little more. “You cared and you kind of endangered yourself. That is quite something and not nothing. It’s actually quite touching, if you ask me.”

Izzy had smiled once more at the coy remark, as much as she enjoyed teasing back, for now she wanted to be friends, besides, there was a potentially rampant Ludicolo to tend to... and Izzy had turned to where the Ludicolo had been, and seen her poké ball remaining there with no sign of the Carefree Pokémon having broken out. Seeming to stay true to its name, once it had been encapsulated, it seemed to have mellowed out a little. The young woman had picked up the ball, whispering a small apology to the pokémon, "I know you might be a little confused, but don't worry, I'll take care of you properly."[break][break]

Her Bewear had trudged along behind her, plopping a paw on her head and tussling it a little with a cute squeal, the rest of her pokémon trailing closely behind like duckling with their mother duck, "thanks, Maple, I appreciate that." After having collected her newly caught Ludicolo—intending to greet it more properly after this little expedition back at home—Izzy had made her way back to Violet. Hearing out Violet's compliment and contradiction of her own disparagement of her input, Izzy couldn't help but be somewhat embarrassed and chuckle, "I mean... thanks, I appreciate that a lot, but like... I feel it's what anyone should have and would have done, you know?" Isolde had bounced back quickly with a smile. In truth she'd felt this way because she was aware of it all—the young Galarian was always actively trying to be a nicer person, especially ever since she'd made her way to Hoenn.[break][break]

Change was something she wanted in herself, and she'd felt that it wouldn't come without her best efforts in it all, and it was precisely because Violet was being so kind that Izzy couldn't help but scrutinize her own actions more, though she'd realised such a thing too late to retract it.

“You mean, like everyone focused on helping people during that battle, instead of pointlessly fighting one another?” She sighed with these words. It was not even faked in any way. It really had been an embarrassing display for the oh-so-helpful league. Instead of just retreating from the city they were no longer welcome in, they had not just started fights but even brought guns, focusing more on killing Rockets than helping those trapped. She’d had conversations with some of them over that, after all. And they had not exactly been convincing, their bosses only pretending to care about evacuations until they saw a high-value target.

Pathetic people. “No my dear, it isn’t what anyone would have done. Though you are right that anyone should do it. But not everyone can be like you, I guess.” She chuckled, leaving that compliment hanging for a bit, while stretching briefly. Despite having only been forced to sleep for a little while, she had some cramps. “But I think we should get going, in case that Venosaur is still around. I do think I heard something a moment ago from the…..east, I think. It’s not easy to orient yourself in here, isn’t it? Usually, I am really good, but I have not exactly been inside a lot of trees in my life. And the last one I was in got invaded by a swarm of Beedrills and then set on fire!”

"... touché." Isolde had said with a slightly wry smile, it should be the first thing anyone would think to do, yet the fight that broke out so recently proved otherwise. It still worried her to no end how there hadn't been a single person who'd come looking for their missing pokémon after all the signs and posters she'd put up around the city since then. She didn't want to believe people could be so callous yet, the alternative wasn't particularly hopeful either. Best not to think of it.[break][break]

A thought had occurred, on the tip of her tongue some remark about how awful she had used to be, but this wasn't baggage she'd wish to offload onto anyone else, let alone someone who was offering such kind words to her. Izzy eventually sighed, perking up quickly after exhaling.[break][break]

"Probably for the best," Izzy had smiled, though her smile had quickly shifted to a concerned grimace in regards to Violet's previous experiences, "wait, what?"

Heh. Now that got the other’s attention, now didn’t it? Clearly, she savoured the confused she’d sown out with just a quick remark. And, best of all: it was actual true. In fact, she was probably going to play down the events of that day instead of embellishing it. Still, it felt good to do so, as far as she was concerned. “Yes, I was in this one tree museum kind of thing over in Fortree City. Some rapscallions decided that it was a good day to rob the place, I think. And then a swarm of very angry Beedrill showed up, attacking everyone. One thing led to another, someone tried to defend themselves with fire and soon everything was burning. What can a girl do?”

She shrugged, though she most certainly had not at all been calm about all this when it happened, that much was for sure. It was a lot easier to seem somewhat cool in retrospect though, and she never passed up on a chance to impress a cute girl. “But don’t worry, I am making it sound a lot more exciting than it probably was. Even I got out, after all, and I am not exactly the greatest trainer or anything like that.”

A... tree museum? Isolde had a look of confusion, almost drawing upon disgust, before smiling keenly, trying her best not to laugh at the absurdly escalating situation that Violet had to go through, and that all of it started with something gaudy enough that she would have bet someone back home would have funded it for some collection or as some scam.[break][break]

"Sounds like a wild ride, huh?" She'd joyously laughed, a far more carefree girl out here than she was allowed to be back home, a rather precocious young woman who never really had the opportunity to do things her way, and intended to spend her time away from those that knew her to do just that. Irresponsible, but she cared little about that, so long as it was fun and it couldn't bring harm to others, what was the harm in expressing herself?

"Well, comparatively speaking... I could probably tell you who the better trainer is out of the two of us, if that meant much," Isolde chuckled, "so, how'd that whole fire ordeal get dealt with... since a tree museum in a forest sounds like really easy kindling."

Though a brief moment later, Isolde noticed an odd something, she could have sworn she'd spotted a trace of something trailing amongst foliage... but just what was it? Curiosity got the better of her, and the young woman had yelped, sudden tendrils suddenly gripping her by the wrist and trying to yank her into the foliage!
