thankfully, their focus moves over to the beer pong table, and after a quick shout to the burly barkeep, cups are soon filled up with cheap beer as the two of them take their positions across each other.

knowing very well he's likely going to win...

Despite what she may look like and act like, Sol has played beer pong before. More than a few times, actually, but it’s not like she’s about to tell Uriah about her whole history with the silly drinking game and how she has ended up wasted more than a few times. But that’s just the way beer pong is.

Sol ponders on this for only a couple of seconds – enough time for Uriah to get back to his side of the table. And then, once he’s there, she dismisses the thought, unceremoniously chucking the ball at a cup and barely reacting when it lands inside.

"okay i wasn't ready for that."

he chuckles but picks it up all the same. he fishes for the ball, holding it between his fingers before he tips the cup back. at the same time, he subtly bounces the ball across the table, finding one of her cups.

his cup lowers, revealing a joyful smile.

"i think that's two for you."

Without moving from where she is, Sol watches as the ball bounces across the table and into one of her cups, and at this, she rolls her eyes.

”I can’t believe you’re bouncing them right from the start. You’re such a show off.”

Her tone is as dry as usual, but there’s a slight smirk all the same, and without raising anymore complaints, she reaches for one of her cups, quickly downing its content. Once this is done, the one with the ball is picked up, fishing out and staring across the table at Uriah’s cups.

”You do realize there’s nothing impressive about being good at beer pong, right?”

She says this, and yet she calmly tosses the ball so it bounces once and then lands in one of the cups closest to Uriah.

”Anyone can do that.”

Sol goes on to drink the beer in her cup.

he does try to swipe at her toss only to miss it completely, perhaps distracted by her slight smirk. he groans as the ball falls into one of his cups.

"i actually think beer pong takes a good amount of skill. i can tell you've played a bit before."

sighing, he picks up the two cups and downs them one after the other, which is probably not the best idea.

"i wouldn't try bouncing it again."

it's a friendly warning that's accompanied by a smirk of his own.

he stacks the empty cups together, placing them off to the side before tossing the ball straight into one of her cups in the back row.

This time, her throw almost doesn’t make it; the ball spinning at the rim of one the cups that are nearest to her for a couple seconds before finally falling in.

It’s not as if she’s unaware that she’s stoic, Uriah’s right, but she also doesn’t see why everyone always seems to have a problem with that. Still, she’s been called worse, and if she’s going to be a statue, she’d much rather be a pretty one.

”Miss for me? Who do you think I am?” She almost sounds offended, and she downs this cup faster than the previous ones, then taking a moment to peer at his side of the table and aim her throw.

She makes the ball bounce on purpose, just because his offer did annoy her, and the ball sure finds its way into one of the cups near the edge.

”Ha! Suck it, Uriah!” This time, her words are exclaimed, and a bright grin comes with them.

again, he's distracted when she makes her throw, so he isn't able to swipe the ball in time to stop it from bouncing into his cup.

"fuck! well, looks like i'm dying tonight."

he's being dramatic but there's a chance he just might. he sighs, picking up the two cups before downing the first, pausing for a little, then finishing the second.

stifling a burp, he brings a fist to his chest to pound once, then nods.

"alright i'm good."

he sways a little but still tosses the ball into her cup just fine. no bounce, though, which puts her ahead of him.

Still, she doesn’t mind being called cute, perhaps because it’s not the kind of thing people usually call Sol. She’s too serious for “cute” – too aloof, too stoic, too frigid. It’s the way she has been for as long as she can remember, and she’s all too aware of what people think of it. Not like she cares much for what most people think, but doesn’t everyone like a honest compliment?

She actually laughs at his failed attempt at swiping away the ball, but this fades quickly and all remnants of it are gone by the time he does his throw.

As if she isn’t pretty much drunk already, as made evident by the fact that for a second there, she sounds almost whiny. Is she pouting? It's faint, but it's there for a fleeting moment, and it's unlike her.

And once the moment is over, Sol picks up the cup and drinks from it. But this time, when she makes her throw, the ball just so barely misses.

They probably shouldn’t be doing all this, and Sol knows it. It’s just drinking games, and it seems like harmless fun, but there’s so many risks that can come with this sort of thing. The little voice of her conscience tells her she’s making a mistake, and maybe it’s the beer or maybe it’s the fact that she just wants to have a good time without concerns, but she pushes those thoughts away.

She does hold grudges, but that’s not necessarily true when it comes to why this is part of her reputation. It’s not like Sol would actually be upset over something like beer pong...

The word comes dry and harsh and it cuts like a knife, but she sighs and rolls her eyes, a faint smirk dancing at her lips as she raises the cup. This time, she merely chucks the ball at one of his cups instead of putting effort into throwing it, and that seems to work like a charm.

”Cheers, Uri Uri.” A playfully wicked grin and then she downs her beer indeed.
