Well, that had been a fairly good showing. Cardamom hadn't placed in the tournament, but his family had definitely made quite a name for themselves. But now that the tournament was over, it was time to start packing up. They'd taped up a sign informing people that they would be selling off their last treats, and not preparing any more. Cardamom himself was packing up the portable stove, Bam helping by holding the box open. However, her ears suddenly perked up, and she let out a cheerful yip. Cardamom put the stove down, lifting his head to see a familiar face.[break][break]
"Oh hi there, Raki, Gwyar!" he called. "Did you come to visit with Bam?"

The large man held up an arm in greeting as he approached the restaurant, Raki curled up and craddled in his arm.

"Yes. I pray we are not too late to buy some lunch as well, however!" The man said with a smile as he gently lowered himself to the floor, allowing Raki to carefully climb off his elbow. Rather conspicuous bandaging, as well as a whole cast, enwrapped the puppy's shoulder and arm as he more or less stumbled his way towards Bam, looking even more depressed than when they first met, almost tripping on his feet and face planting.

The man's smile faltered slightly at the sight, before he sighed.

"Well... I was also hoping meeting Bam would help Raki's spirits." He admitted, crossing his arms over his chest as his brow furrowed ever so slightly. "Let's just say battle results did not get any better after our meeting"

As in, he had gotten his shoulder fractured quite literally in his very next battle, getting the wind knocked off his sails.

"Aw, no," muttered Cardamom. He clamped down the affectionate fussing that was about to come out of his mouth next, figuring that it probably wouldn't help with the Riolu's already-injured ego. Meanwhile, Bam went scampering forwards, paws held out with a worried expression as she gently took Raki's paw in her own, being careful not to jostle the broken arm. She let out a few worried yips. Who had done this? How long was that cast going to be on?[break][break]
Cardamom looked down, ruffling through the bags of treats their stall still had for sale. "Hey, you think a treat would cheer him up?" he asked Gwyar softly while the two Riolu were talking. "No charge."

"I'm sure he would appreciate it-" He said, before chuckling. "But I insist in paying."

He wasn't about to take freebies from Cardamom's hard labor.

Raki didn't really want to talk about his loss, simply muttering indecipherable growls at the memory. Stupid, stupid, stupid... so many mistakes he had made then, that he could only see clearly now.

His gaze fell to his arm as the question came, his maw pursing to pout as he replied. It would be at least two weeks before he was able to take off the cast. At least a month before he was allowed to spar, let alone fight.

Of course, Raki didn't know this wasn't because his injuries couldn't be healed quickly through other means such as pokemon; but rather, because Gwyar wanted him to learn from this. And the lesson wouldn't stick if as quickly as the injury came, it was gone.

Raki's gaze fell, sad that he couldn't spar with Bam, or play tag, or hide-and-seek... He couldn't do much with his arm as it was... other than the meditate thing Gwyar had taught him, which was boooring.

"But enough about us- did you enjoy your time in the tournament?"

Bam let out a sympathetic yip, patting his unbroken arm some more. She'd visit him so he wouldn't be bored! Or at least video chat if it turned out their trainers lived too far away from each other! It was a good thing she didn't know Gwyar's inner thoughts either, or she'd be yapping a piece of her mind at the man.[break][break]
Cardamom nodded, picking up the few bags left as Gwyar offered to pay nonetheless. That did raise the man's favor in the boy's eyes a bit, at least. "Sorry, we're out of pure sweet-flavored treats," he added. "But we've still got some mixes left and all the other flavors are available too. What's his favorite?" Of course sweets were the first to sell out, but he thought his family did quite well at blending all the other flavors into delicious snacks too.[break][break]
He grinned a little at the question. "Oh, it was great!" he exclaimed. "I got to try out a whole bunch of different types of fights too! I think Shin-that's my Teddiursa-is pretty close to evolving as well. I think he's just holding back for whatever moment is most dramatic."

Raki didn't perk up at the promises, simply slumping even harder. He had gotten his butt kicked and now was even taking Bam's time...

He was so pathetic...

"... He's not really picky."

Gwyar looked between the puppies and Cardamom before pulling out his wallet to fetch the bills quickly, seemingly urging the youth to get the food with equal urgency.

Depression would not help Raki's natural recovery at all.

"He's more of a quantity eater. Whatever you have left, it'll more than do, I'm sure."

Everything smelled delicious, that was usually a good sign, far as food was concerned.

Even Raki seemeed momentarily distracted from his moping when the topic of food finally caught his ear- and the smell his nose. His droopy gaze slowly peered up at the trainer duo, hunger and curiosity managing to momentarily break through his sadness.

Bam frowned harder at seeing her friend still upset. When he perked up at the mention of food, she seemed quite relieved about that, waving at her trainer to hurry it up. Cardamom grinned.[break][break]
"Well, if quantity's what you're asking for, how can I refuse?" he asked, picking up several bags of treats and dumping them all into a larger container. "They're colored by flavor," he added as he leaned forward to pass the cup over, pointing at a helpful sign on the front of the booth. "And that's three bags, so..." He named a price, which was also printed on the same sign.

Gwyar smiled, grasping the cup before raising it in the air throwing a look at Raki, waving it towards the puppy.

"I'll let you eat as many as you want Raki- but no more moping, alright? You are upsetting Bam." The knight said as he knelt and set the container on the floor between the two puppies. "And remember to share, alright?"

Raki nodded reluctantly, looking from the blonde man to the container, then to Bam, before he attempted the arduous task of opening everything with one hand.

Gwyar gave Bam a look, gesturing with his eyes at the Raki and the box before standing back to his full height, his hand slipping under his jacket to fetch his wallet.

"How much was it again? Ah, right!" He said, fetching the dosh without complaint.

Meanwhile, Raki, ever stubborn, had begun trying to nibble his way through the plastic.

Ah, Cardamom had snapped a lid on top by instinct. He hadn't meant to draw attention to Raki's current difficulties, after all. The boy frowned slightly, not sure how to defuse this without embarrassing the Riolu more. Bam's ears twitched as well, her paw reaching forward ever so slightly. She only intended to support the cup a bit so that it was easier for Raki to open, though, not take it away from him completely.
