ah! she saw it. Jia turned on the spot, following his finger to look across the screen. she seemed to bounce on the spot. "thanks soooo much!" the young woman says in reply, looking back at him. she beams, a wide toothy smile. it didn't even falter when she realized he was so... mopey! "are you okay?" she questions, tilting her head to the side comedically. 

he had coffee - why did he seem sad? Jia didn't really drink coffee; she liked seasonal lattes and fruity drinks over anything else. everything sugar and probably not so good for her. but moderation was key! "I mean, it's totally not my business" Jia adds quickly, grinning sheepishly "b-but sometimes it helps to have even a stranger listen."

she shook her hands in front of her, declining politely the snack offered. Jia rarely snacked on food outside of meals and she wasn't that hungry. just quite thirsty. "oh, you sound like you work so hard!" she burst, clenching her fists together with an 'rrr!' grumble "modeling is definitely hard. sometimes even I feel exhausted when I'm off set." as an idol, she was privy to wearing the best clothing for photos and jigs. it wasn't just singing and dancing. she had a 'brand' to represent.

her eyes slipped to his drink as he takes a sip. "well, if you're not working you should be enjoying yourself" but it was far from an order or suggestion because she went on "so I'll go" she flashes him a warm grin "last thing you want is to entertain someone on your day off!" and she had only asked for directions anyway. she may approach others boldly at times, but she didn't want to bother anyone for sure. "thank you for pointing me to the right place."

and the idol even turns. she waits, though, for his words to excuse her.

"oh, I see" she says brightly, surprised when the man accompanied her to the crosswalk "a lot of what I do is the same. gotta keep in shape and watch your intake!" it wasn't that hard, but cravings did hit sometimes. Jia had to make sure she was also a positive role model for her viewers; they had come to expect this from her. when she told them she was 'fighting the good fight' the pouring of Likes were better than the Dislikes.

"well, right now I'm on hiatus from that world" she adds at his question "I was an idol. still am, I guess" she shrugs "but I enrolled and passed the test to be an Officer Cadet. I'm fighting for Hoenn's good future" she grins, void of smugness. just casual naivety.  Jia didn't know how bad the region was yet. she would learn. eventually. but would her smile fade? "a real Gym Leader is mentoring me! I'm so excited to meet him."

Jia is easily distracted as they pass the street, and go into the café. all the bright store fronts make her 'heart eyes'; she can't wait to shop here when she had time. she pauses only only to look at a pink sports jacket in a display before realizing Casey has opened the door for her. with a startled gasp, she races to meet him and quickly thanks the young man as she ducks inside.

the smell of coffee hits her, along with baked goods. the two approach the counter, and Jia feels her mouth water. parched as she was, the baked goods smell delicious. then she realized the model was going to pay for her drink. she glances at him, frowning softly before realizing... it'd do no good to make a scene and ask him not to. "a-ah... one pecha berry refresher, please!"

she pauses before turning to Casey properly. "Alexei, um, last name... ivanov" she replies "he's Fortree's Gym Leader, if I recall properly!" being related to gym leaders was fascinating... Casey seemed to be super cool.
