The gym’s not too busy right now. Where other places would have a lunch time rush, his place is slow. For Andres, however, he’s just starting his own workout to warm up for his next appointment….which….wasn’t for another three hours. So, he wasn’t exactly warming up…yet. At least not anything other than the muscles in his mouth as he chatted away with coworkers and other people that ambled through. Before he can really give off a spiel, a girl he hadn’t seen around before made her way in, waving him off and heading out to the machines. [break][break]

Andres isn’t one to push too hard on his help. Like anyone else, Andres was a fan of putting minimum effort when possible, into his work. Here he could get away with it. Teaching kids battle tactics? Not so much. This doesn’t last long, as he made his rounds around the floor. His eyes can’t help but move towards the pinkette sitting on a machine…backwards. He doesn’t want to be rude, but when Melody began to do something, he was pretty sure would lead to an injury he began to move over. [break][break]

“Olle, bonita, if you’re having trouble…there’s some directions on the side of that machine.” He said as he slowed down by her machine. He didn’t want to outright tell her what to do but…he’d rather not have to call someone if one of their patrons hurt themselves. “Feel free to ask me for help, ok?” he added with a wink.

His concern quickly morphed into a grin as the woman spoke up and didn’t sound all to upset at him. Good. He was really trying not to be the condescending gym bro. It hadn’t felt good when he’d first started, and he wanted to make sure he never acted that way towards others. “But of course, Querida.” He returned. He doesn’t flinch, going along with it but when he’s about to leave he stopped once more. [break][break]

“Oh-! Well, your whole body? Or just endurance?? Or like…muscle mass? We gotta get a little bit more specific.” He replied as he leaned on the machine she’d been using. “If you’re just trying to start out, maybe a base level leg and arm work out. Like pushups, squats, leg press, dumbbell lifts.” He tried to mime some of them as they came to him, reaching for simple things she could use without much equipment. “If you don’t have equipment at home, probably good to learn some body weight exercises too.” He added, though he didn’t think this was too helpful. She’d been kinda vague after all. “Like said, specifics. Is there something you’re training for specifically?”

Andres tapped his chin as he thought it over once more. “Stamina huh…?” He wasn’t a dancer per se, but he assumed dancer stamina was basically the same as a runner’s right. Especially if the intensity was kicking up due to upcoming performances. “Sure, but that’s a lot less weight training.” He said already mentally tossing aside the previous exercises. “Of course! That’s the only reason I said anything. We want everyone to be as safe and healthy as possible here.” He explained. [break][break]

“Usually I charge people, but I can’t leave a lady in need~” he said before perking up at Melody continued to explain her situation. “Heh Churra, no need to be embarrassed. Everyone starts their fitness journeys somewhere.” He said before smirking down at the pinkette, stretching his arms in front of the girl to show off. “Yeah, I work here as a trainer. What gave it away? My winning charisma maybe?” He was half joking, and half flirting. Unless….? “I usually work with client in the afternoons. Morning are more expensive, but I can accommodate a few days if you’re willing to pay.” There’s a pause as he glanced at the counter. “OH right! You’re a new member, right? You should have a free session with any of us.” He then went back to smirking at the woman. “You could take me out for a test drive, see what works.” Andres added.

Andres nodded along as the pinkette explained. “Right then. Well, if you like me, we can discuss a training schedule and a payment plan for you after. We even offer a bit of meal prep and nutrition advice.” He gave the woman a thumbs up, before gesturing at one of the front desk employees. Andres made a writing gesture with his hand that generally meant something along the lines of ‘set up my paperwork please’. [break][break]

Because of course, no one ever left his sessions disappointed. “Name’s Andres~ Andres Buenaventura.” He said, offering his hand for a shake and offering a wink to the trainer. He then checked his watch for the time and set a timer for himself to track their session. “We’ll go for about 30-45 minutes for now. But the real session will be an hour, maybe an hour and a half if you’d prefer something a little longer and less frequent during the week.” He explained as he led her over to a mirrored corner and gesturing at the weights and different bars on the floor. “I’m not a dancer, so I can’t advise much but I know you’ll need cardio and some full body exercises. We can start with squatting and maybe move on into light weightlifting. If you’re up for it.” He said as he turned to the side and began to squat slowly as a demonstration for the budding pop star.

“Ok, Miss Melody~” he replied trying to memorize her name. “Uhh l healthy-er foods. You know pasta, chicken, thick, leafy veggies. It’d make it easier for you stick to eating healthy instead of eating out.” He explained. Although, he still tended to eat out a lot but he had an excuse. He couldn’t just take people out and offer them a cold meal. No, no, no. They had to go out somewhere good. He had to make an impression. [break][break]

“Ah, well I’m glad you’re impressed so far.” He said with a laugh. He hadn’t meant to laugh, but watching Melody try to squat lie ka duck only to fall backwards was pretty funny. Like a toddler learning how to walk but banging into a glass door. “I think maybe your feet were too close together. Try standing with them a bit further out and squat slowly.” He said. “Straighten your back but try not to arch backwards either.” He added as he began to squat down again while watching her move. “I thought you danced? Where’s your balance, Melody~?” he added, teasing her already.

Andres gave her a small nod. “Right Mi-...Melody then.” He said trying to break out of the habit. He always tended to add a little politeness when it came to his clients. As Melody attempted once more, Andres followed her lead, turning so she could see his side in the mirror and better follow his form. “Mira, just like that.” He said encouraging her to try a couple more times. “Once you get this down in really good, proper form, we can add a PVC pipe to practice the deadlift.”

“OH?? You’re a ballerina?!” Andres exclaimed in surprise. That had not been what he’d imagined when she said a performer. “Oh, would it be bad for you to have a big butt then??” he asked pausing mid squat to look over at her butt. “Is it...a problem now, like, I guess its big...I…I’ll have to do a bit of research into ballet dancers. The squatting and weightlifting will tone and also, kind of, make your butt bigger. Tighter. I don’t want to train you for something that might impede your dancing.” He said. Perhaps he’s nix the ass exercises and stick with cardio and arms weight lifting. Its at this moment, mid squat, that Andres shifted as he watched a coworker pass by. He moved to ask a question before flailing a moment and falling back on his ass. He let out a quick hiss in pain before turning back to Melody. “That’s what I get for breaking form, hah?” He got back up on his feet before turning to the pinkette once more. “So, how often did you think of meeting up for training?” he asked since she’d more or less confirmed she wanted to hire him.

She may have been new to the scene, and maybe she had some money to her name, but at least she wasn’t too uptight about her personal trainers. Some people really didn’t like little jokes made at their expense or their form. He looked around for one of the lighter kettlebells. They could do some squats and then add a little weight to it in a bit. [break][break]

“Uhh…I can do 4 times a week I think. Most of my clients are 1-2 times a week.” He said as he smiled at Melody in the mirror. “But, let me double check my schedule before you pay haha. I also need to know if you’ll be coming here all the time or if you would rather, I do house visits. That alters the price a little bit.” Rarely did people do house visits due to the price and well, most of his customers were coming to see him immediately after work on their way home. Not everybody had a good indoor gym. Hell, even Andres wasn’t that lucky. [break][break]

“Oh, graduating university? Congrats then~!” he said offering the pinkette a thumbs up as he went to retrieve the kettlebells. “What did you study?” He'd been out of uni for a while, but he always got nostalgic when graduation season came around.
