Jack had recently overheard a conversation of complaints from the local farmers of Littleroot Town that Beheeyem were abducting the livestock right from their barns, so of course he was interested. He wasn’t necessarily helping out of the good of his heart, instead he saw this as the opportunity to test a prototype Pokétch technology he’d recently developed. Seeing as the solution was open to interpretation, he’d decided to take his Pokétch Launcher out for a field trial.

“Are you ready?” He’d ask the Rotom floating around them, receiving a small nod before disappearing into his personal Pokétch. “Alright, setting the application now.” Scooping up the small device, he attached the launcher onto the device and let the Rotom sort out the protocols. A pokeball was already loaded in the device, currently in miniature form until the act of launching caused the capsule to expand. “Let's snipe some Beheeyem.”

✦ REALITY IS STRANGER THAN FICTION

Having to travel around means that Lyssa encounters various people and listens to many stories from them - Either good stories or a concern that is currently happening. The most recent story that she listened to is the story of a local farmer of Littleroot town that she met by accident and hit it off at the local restaurant. A certain pokemon claims to be accused of abducting the farmer's pokemon - When Lyssa hears about the pokemon, she starts to think that the accusation might not be far off. Since that farmer is kind enough to treat her to a grand feast in that restaurant yesterday - Lyssa is planning to repay the debt and solve this problem.

Lyssa is not much of a hunter, she practically has zero experience in tracking or hunting a single pokemon. The pokemon that she meets more often is like a game of chance where she doesn't know what kind of wild pokemon she is going to meet. Lyssa already learns which area bears what kind of pokemon in general but trying to hunt Beeheyem specifically is another matter. Therefore, Lyssa currently just grazing the perimeter alongside Khione hoping for her ability to sniff the Beeheyem out. Instead Beeheyem, Lyssa noticed a man with some kind of launcher on a device.

"Here for the Beeheyem too?" Lyssa approaches the man raising a question. To her right now, he looks suspicious but doing anything to him under suspicion is bad. Therefore, she decides to play around with the surface of the water by throwing some questions to find out his goal to be here. "Interesting device you got there, what does it do?"

    “Yeah, I’m going to capture a few of them.” Jack turned towards the stranger who arrived on the scene, not surprised to see another person interested in the Beheeyem swarm. “Proprietary technology, I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you.” A small grin tugged at the corners of his mouth, obviously not being serious.

    “I’m prototype testing a new application for the Pokétch. The device uses the IR sensor in the watch to calibrate the shot, then this launcher device automatically shoots an empty Pokeball at the target.” There were a dozen people on the board of directors that would have screamed knowing he was revealing their upcoming technology, but Jack wasn’t concerned with things such as that.

    “The capsule starts small and expands for capture when it leaves the barrel, allowing the device to be compact.” Jack waved his hand dismissively. “The details aren’t important. Here, watch.” Raising his forearm towards a distant Beheeyem, he’d line the shot up with his eye before issuing a command. “Jeronimo, let's take the shot.” The Rotom obliged, adjusting the trajectory and displaying the new information on the display of the Pokétch.

    CLUNK! The Pokeball was fired with deft precision, clapping into the large head of the Beheeyem and beginning the capture process. “Still have to work out a program that does what my Rotom is doing, but the mechanics are all there.”

The man explains what he is doing currently - While she manages to understand that he doesn't bear any ill will to be here, she doesn't fully comprehend the novelty of the new technology that he claimed. He displays how the mechanism works by capturing a Beeheyem and like she expected from listening to the mechanism - Lyssa wasn't impressed. "That is a nice device" Lyssa throws out empty praise. The empty praise was not meant to be an insult but a way for her to alluding her way to the critique that she wants to convey. "However, if I may ask, what makes this device so special compared to the old-fashioned catching a pokemon by throwing it?" Lyssa poses a question that made her curious as she can't think of anything that beats the old fashion way other than eliminating the effort of the throwing act.

While her attention is directed to Jack and his device, Khione suddenly barks calling for her master's attention that there is a wild Beeheyem appear once again. Lyssa grabs a Pokeball in her pocket and lets it expand as she takes it out, with a swift moment - She throws the Pokeball from his behind. The similar mechanism of capturing from the Pokeball that Jack shows earlier happens, displaying that the Pokeball that he uses is not any different from the commercial Pokeball.

“Depends on the person, really.” A small shrug lifted his shoulders, loading another capsule into the device while he spoke. “Children, the disabled and the elderly aren’t able to toss Pokéballs with the same strength and accuracy as the able-bodied.” What he didn’t mention was that he originally designed the device because he was too lazy to capture Pokémon the traditional way, only to realize later the more important applications of the technology.

“So, no real advantage over normal throwing. Wouldn’t want to injure the Pokémon by shooting any faster, y’know?” League rules also discouraged such things from existing, and he didn’t particularly want to break the law so soon after moving to the region. “Oh, I’m Jack by the way.”

There is a reason why Lyssa is not a researcher as she didn't have a similar insight with what Jack shows by answering her questions. Lyssa nods start to get convinced that the device may not just be justifying laziness but it is more than that. Lyssa was going to point out the strength of shooting but he answers it first as if it has been voiced out as a concern before as to her knowledge regarding the law - there is a limit for this kind of device for it to get categorized as a lethal weapon which means needed to have heavy regulations to them. Despite her throwing her family behind - The knowledge over laws that she learns from her family retain within herself. Making her a capable lawyer on the top of a dancer and an acrobat.

"I am Eylyssa Kay, but you can call me Lyssa." Lyssa introduces herself. "Let me be honest here, I thought you were the one that is responsible for all of the kidnapping instead of Beeheyem but from the looks of it, you may not be the one," Lyssa confess with her thought toward the man earlier. She knows about the report that the animal around her got abducted by Beeheyem but Lyssa always tries to be open mind and not put a verdict on someone before she witnesses anything. Right now, she can tell that the rumor is true as she saw a Beeheyem attempt to abduct an animal from afar - "Khione, NIGHT SLASH" Lyssa mutters. The blade on Khione's side shines and with a single swipe, a dark blade attacks the Beeheyem and made her fails on abducting the animal. The pokemon runs in panic and she runs directly toward Jack out of panic.
