just don't do it again.

a nod, along with an "okay," is all he says before looking away.

it's not a great feeling, honestly, but it doesn't linger for too long.

"we have two choices, i think."

he turns, walking back over to his magical backpack before pulling out a few military rations. he moves to sit beside her, showing the packs to her.

they don't taste the best, as they both know, but it's better than nothing.

"chili with beans or shredded beaf in barbecue sauce?"

Sol has never been the type of person to feel self-conscious, but as Uri goes over to sit beside her, she finds that she does. It’s silly, considering they’ve definitely woken together in a far worse state before, but this is different…

She knows she probably looks tired, and that her hair must be a mess, and although it is faint, shades of pink colour her cheeks at the thought of this.

Turning her attention to the rations is better than looking at him.

they've definitely woken together in a far worse state, which is why the thought doesn't even occur to him. he looks disheveled and tired, as evident by the bags under his eyes, but he sounds almost the same as usual, if not slightly less energetic.

"not really. they're both pretty shit, to be honest. which is why i brought the secret ingredient."

he grins as he reaches into his backpack, this time pulling out a bottle of ketchup. the squeeze kind and not the glass bottle kind.

"it makes it that much better, trust me."

and so, he offers her both packs, allowing her the choice.

A hand runs through crimson locks, being painfully aware of every single knot. She almost feels glad her hair was tied up when going to sleep, but also not, because there’s probably an annoying amount of frizz now and it must look awful.

Sol has always cared a lot about her appearance, even if this career of hers constantly puts her in positions where that’s a luxury she definitely cannot afford.

Thankfully, Uri distracts her from all these thoughts with a bottle of ketchup…

Despite how annoyed she had just been, she can’t help but smirk, taking the pack of shredded beef.

he rips the pack open before squeezing a hefty amount of ketchup in. taking the spoon, he stirs it, mixing it up real good.

they may be joking about it but that's actually something uri really wants to do: cook for a living. he's never told anyone this, however, mostly because it's just a dream.

The memories come back as Sol sets up her own food, and while she doesn’t particularly regret anything of what happened back then, she does feel a bit guilty for not noticing just how excited Uri had sounded about cooking. He sounds excited now too, even if it’s just adding ketchup to his food…
