he's not sure what he was expecting besides that but it still feels the same: awkward and uncomfortable, as if there's still too much that's unsaid between them, at least from her end.

but what if he doesn't like what she has to say?

after a moment of standing on his own, he sighs, then follows after, holding what remains of the can of charja-cola in his hand as he catches up to her.

it's a silent walk, and this time, he minds it.

occasional sips break the quiet between them but he eventually runs out of his delicious soda, but thankfully, it doesn't take them that long to arrive back at the base.

and now comes the mission debrief.

A deep breath, and for now, she pushes it all aside.

It’s something Sol learned to do long ago: no matter what may be going on in her life, no matter how many worries and struggles, none of it should affect her work. It matters to her. It’s perhaps one of the only things that truly matters...

And so, the debrief goes without an issue.

Nothing out of the ordinary. Nothing to report.

For both her sake and Uri’s, she skips over the part where he didn’t wake her for her patrol.

And, once it’s all done, she can’t help but sigh when stepping out – she's exhausted.

Sol’s aware that Uri hasn’t slept, just like she’s aware that his apartment is all the way back at Slateport. Despite how annoyed she had been at him before the debriefing, these two things make her feel guilty for missing her turn to patrol, since if she hadn’t, he would have at least been able to get some rest...

Sol doesn’t really think much of it, because as much as she appreciates her privacy and doesn’t often invite people over to her home, this is not because she dislikes it.

It’s a house and nothing more, there’s nothing special about it. It would be better than him having to pay for a shitty motel, and probably also more comfortable as well.
