It's rare that she leaves her humble abode in the peaceful town that is Oldale. Most times, journeys can be attributed to the fact that she has to make deliveries to other cities but this time, it seems to be more of a secret trip to get away from the gloom that floods her home. No message to Laurence Anderson to let him know where she's going, only a bare bones notice pasted on the door that the shop will be closed for a few days.

"He doesn't need to have tabs on us at every single point of day." She huffs, idly kicking the air as the ocean breeze blows past the tidal walls. "I'm not a kid anymore..."

Over her shoulders, Ren drapes himself as a faded scarf, swaying in the wind as the chorus of Wingulls intertwine with the crashing waves. As per usual, he offers no input on the issue, seeing no reason to insert himself into a familial dispute. The duo really should be old enough to talk things out, but communication tends to break down when one refuses to yield.

Alas, there seems to be no moving the one that fears loss.

Devlin Darcy Delaney strolled through Dewford town, it was a nice town next to the oceon and she knew trainers sometimes came here to get away for a few days. It would be the perfect place to set up a trap and steel some unexpecting trainers pokemon. She wondered what pokemon she could steal today and whether if she would get to keep the pokemon or if her higher ups would demand she gave it to them for training to be used how they see fit.

Up ahead Ghost her Gliscor was scouring the area for a lone trainer they could attack. Strolling at her side was Diablo her Unbreon the very first pokemon she had ever stolen. They had been an Eevee at the time and disobediant but the pokemon learned with time to obey her new trainer if she didn't want trouble though Devlyn was sure she didn't enjoy it. Just than Ghost flew back towards her waving it's arm to let her know he had spotted someone. Devlin smiled and gave a quick nod of her head to let him know she had seen and to lead the way. It wasn't long before she spotted a lone girl with no one else around. She appeared to be the same age as her. That could be troublesome but it could also lead to a huge payout. As she grew closer she noticed there was something draped aroung her shoulders. She smiled and approached the girl. "Hello there I'm D.D. and these are my pokemon." She wasn't going to give away her name to her because she could tell the police officers and that could be trouble.

Reaching into her pocket she grabbed another poke'ball and tossed it in the air letting out a Drowzee. "No hand over your pokemon there if you don't want any trouble." She hoped the girl would try to fight back so she could soundly defeat her and teach her a lesson to never mess with Team Rocket. If the girl paid any attention at all she would see the armband on her right arm with the large red letter R on it giving away the fact that she was a member of Team Rocket. "Oh and if you try to call for help I'll have Ogre here knock you out with Hypnosis before you have the chance to finish your first word."

Though it isn't strange to be approached by a stranger out of the blue, what's most strange is how she's faced with a strangely threatening introduction. What about the smile? Or the pokemon she called out? Were they not here to be friends? And why was she brandishing an armband with a big R on it?

There are so many questions but simply not enough answers to satisfy.

What she does understand is that she might be getting mugged and Ren is quick to catch onto the notion too, hissing softly as he tenses up.

"I uhm... is that a new way of asking to battle?" Her voice is meek, her head canting as her eyes watch the other for signs of sincerity. Perhaps, she's gotten rusty at reading people. Or perhaps, she's never been good at it to begin with... either way, she reckons that D.D might just be a little shy and socially awkward. That would explain her thorny attitude, right?

"Ren's my best friend, so I don't think I'd give him to you...?"

Regardless, Lumia's already settling for a backup plan, her fingers clutching tight around her phone in her pocket. Within seconds, a message is sent, her location delivered right to Laurence Anderson phone without any hints as to why.

"Is there an alternative? I could help you look for wild pokemon?"

Devlin could tell the girl was confused and that made her happy, she could tell her pokemon understood her better than it's trainer. She couldn't wait to make that pokemon her own. When the girl did answer she laughed, "I wasn't asking for a battle you idiot I was demanding you give me your pokemon. But if it's a battle you want than it's a battle you'll get and once it's over I'll take your Dragapault as my own. You won't have any choice once I've defeated you."

Diablo stepped forward her tail lashing ready to fight. Devlin saw this and smiled, Dragapault were dragon and ghost types and though she had no pokemon that was strong against dragon types Diablo was strong against ghost types so this could work out for her. "Diablo use Dark Pulse I don't care if you hit the girl as well as the Dragapault."

Diablo felt bad for the girl but she wasn't about to disobey a direct order. She quickly did as her trainer told her and used Dark Pulse aiming for both the girl and the Dragapault hoping the pokemon would let the move hit them in order to protect their trainer.

That's not how a battle works, nor does her demands make any sense. Confusion is visibly scrawled all over her features, but she's learnt how to go with the flow when it comes to meeting the expectations of whimsical guests.

Ren recognises a difference between being unable to avoid an attack and taking it head-on, his body moving to dodge the attack as his tail tugs Lumia out of harm's way. And in turn, he unleashes a Dragon's Breath, scorching the motley gang without any care for which of them gets hit.

"You're not taking him." Strong words, but perhaps her actions don't quite reflect her fighting spirit. The reality of a threat is sinking in and she's realising that being alone isn't the brightest of ideas she can have. So a quick hop to her feet and two steps back allow her to break into a sprint, the soles of her boots scraping against the ground with no intention of stopping.

Anything that allows her to escape this odd confrontation.
