Too many hours in a day and not even sunscreen to last that long. Hell, she'd even tied her hair up and wore a cap. Even then, the sun spares no one under its gaze, roasting her alive faster than she can even afford to say any god's name in vain.

Paired with the soothing chorus of incoming winds and brushing waves, she's vaguely reminded of her time in Sootopolis - A time that she probably won't be getting back anytime soon, if she has to chance a guess. Regardless, now isn't the time to listen to her heart but her head, her gaze briefly flickering to the other before focusing back on the road ahead.

Ollie has never been wrong when it comes to being a premonition of disaster but for this once, she prays that this won't be the case. by the time he looks back, she's already moving ahead, and for mere moments, he's left behind.

he quickly catches up, however — how could he not when she calls him that?

no idea what it means, though.

a pokeball pops open, calling out his porygon2 who floats beside him. it beeps in a confusing manner.

It takes seconds for his words to register, and just a fraction of that time for the reactions to be clear. Ollie slows to a walk, occasionally glancing back to her before continuing his trek through the brushes. Eventually, they do stumble across the aforementioned corpse, mangled and riddled with bite marks from head to toe.

She spares it a minute of her attention, then turns away with a sigh. With her mind less focused on rushing to rescue, Zahra finds the opportunity to scan her surroundings, picking up on the unnatural twisting of branches and scratch marks etched deep into wood. Blood is scattered all about the flora and dirt has evidently been kicked up in a struggle.

Though her words are directed to Lance, her gaze is clearly directed towards Ollie with the way he gingerly teethers around the dead. He's no stranger to the cruelty of nature, but that doesn't make him any more immune to the gruesomeness of it all.

and sure enough, they find a corpse. he gives little reaction to it besides the narrowing of his eyes as he starts examining it, noticing the wounds and the clear signs of a struggle.

"maybe."

a zoroark pack makes sense but they aren't usually this aggressive.

kneeling besides the corpse, he takes a moment to carefully examine it before making his assessment.

"we can bury it. seems nothing out of the ordinary."

with a sigh, he stands back up, not bothering to say a prayer.

"here? or somewhere a bit nicer?"

at her question, he shakes his head, taking off into a walk towards the flower field.
