Technically, trying on another dress still means she would have to step away, and since she also doesn’t like that thought, Lia stays right where she is – looking at him.

It makes her chuckle, reaching up for his cheek, and it’s both gently and faintly that she caresses it, still staying close.

Will anything even be open by the time they’re done? That’s a good point, and she should probably stop stalling and go get changed so they don’t take even longer.

It’s not easy to just step away, and when she finally does, it’s with a sigh – even if a chuckle follows soon after it.

The invitation isn’t voiced just yet, but it’s there nevertheless, a smile being given before she steps back into the fitting room.

Lia’s life has been much different from his, and in a way, it could even be said that she never even experienced hardship until recently. But, she understands, or at least she tries to understand, and that’s why she tells herself not to push: to let him go about things at a pace he’s comfortable with.

Is she even patient enough for all that?

She tells herself not to dwell on it, a sigh leaving her before stepping outside of the fitting room with a smile. This time, the dress she’s wearing is teal – the last of the ones he chose for her.

She doesn't show it off in public, at least, but of course she won't mention this.

Whatever the store’s staff may think when watching them is of no consequence to Lia. She should care, and she probably would under different circumstances, but it’s hard to focus on anything else when Lance is right here next to her – kissing her cheek and saying things like these.

But, she does care about the thought of eating dinner together, and eating in general, even if she doesn’t want this to end.

How many hours has it been since her last meal?

Which, really, is probably the main reason for the glares.
