On a stormy October morning, you find a letter has been slid underneath your door. The envelope doesn't have a return address, and doesn't bear a postage stamp, seemingly having been hand delivered.[break][break]
On closer inspection, the envelope contains a typewritten letter bearing an unknown seal and a single boarding pass for the S.S. Tidal, dated one week from today. The letter reads as follows: [break][break][break]

RULES
THE MIDNIGHT MASQUERADE is a guessing game in the vein of Guess Who where the goal is to deduce the identity of your fellow players before they deduce yours! [break][break]
I’ll be accepting
12 PARTICIPANTS to start, but if enough interest is shown this limit might be expanded. [break][break]

Upon signing up with your character account, you will
CREATE A MASK ACCOUNT FOR YOUR CHARACTER - be careful not to provide anything in their account info (avatar, name, etc) alluding to the fact that this is your character. All mask accounts must have the word
‘MASK’ included in their @ tag for ease of staff. When the account is created, direct message me (Banished) the link so I can keep track of which one belongs to each character. [break][break]
These guessing games will occur in rooms located within the
OTHER REGIONS BOARD in separate threads that I will create, with one master post for the introduction.[break][break]
For the first game, each room will have
THREE PARTICIPANTS. With each round of posting you may
ask one question of both people in the room. All questions asked must be able to be answered with a simple
‘YES' OR 'NO’. These questions must also be asked to a person directly, meaning you must clearly indicate who the question is being asked to either by gesture or by a verbal statement.[break][break]

For the duration of this event, your character will be privy to information that would otherwise be unknown to them, to create an even playing field. All in-character information is available to be used for your questioning (hair color, eye color, history details, occupation, etc.), while out-of-character or ‘4th wall breaking’ information is considered ‘invalid’ (faction, post count, canon status, etc.).[break][break]
All questions directed to your character must be answered truthfully if the question is valid, meaning it has met the required criteria. If the question is ‘invalid’ then you can take that opportunity to lie. However, if you
LIE IN RESPONSE TO A VALID QUESTION, THEN THE PROCTOR (BANISHED) WILL EXPOSE YOUR LIE AND YOU WILL BE FORCED TO GIVE TWO TRUTHS about your character in the next round instead of asking two questions.[break][break]
You may guess who a character is once per post; after making
3 INCORRECT GUESSES, your character will be escorted out of their rooms and become disqualified. If you are the last standing in your room, you will enter into the next round of rooms. This will continue until there is only one person left, who will at that time be declared the winner of the masquerade.[break][break]

72 HOUR time limit. If you miss this deadline twice, your character will be disqualified.[break][break]
Do not share information with your fellow competitors, even if you are disqualified.
