[attr="class","bryanbody"] Bryan had put on a light amount of sunscreen on his face and body before this mission, this time they were going to be poaching some pokemon in the water of sootopolis so he had to make sure that while he was out in the sun he didn't burn. [break][break]

He stood on the beach waiting for Priam to show up as he was going to be helping him again, they had been spending a lot of time together lately which was great in bryan's opinion. he tossed out a pokeball releasing his lanturn to play in the water while the two waited.

priam comes in to the rendezvous point with his samurott on tow, all with the necessary equipment. a farmer's tan was too obvious with him going shirtless that it was painful.

goggles and a snorkel was worn around his head, pushing his hair back a bit. he wears shorts with a flame decal, as what one would expect priam would choose out of other choices, while wearing a string bag. his hand holds a fishing rod, as well as a pail, while his free hand waves at bryan.

"hey!" priam calls as he nears bryan. "we're going fishing, right? i like fishing!"

if there's one thing that carried over from his hometown, it's the hobby of sitting by a body of water, doing nothing for hours but wait for fish to bite the line.

[attr="class","bryanbody"] "Yeah. We're fishing!" he said as he grinned and waved at Priam, it wasn't a total lie. They were just mass fishing.

This did bring a bit of nostalgia to Bryan's mind. When he was bumming all around Hoenn he used to sometimes fish for food. Hell it's how he got good at cooking proteins. "You wanna catch anything to eat for lunch or do you have snacks?" He already had a boat rented out and there was a grill on there if they chose to make this a little venture for the two of them.

"huh? are you underestimating me?" priam raises a brow with a smirk bringing up the playfulness levels by a few notches. "i can handle not eating until the end!"

that, and h really expected that he'd be eating a happy meal by the end of the day. the limited edition toy was really cool and would probably look nice with the horde of other toys in his bedside drawer.

"how long do you even plan on fishing anyways? we going until sundown? oh, i had a good spot by the lighthouse too! rarely fish here in sootopolis though since it's so isolated, but the broken lighthouse looked cool."

priam's talking under the idea of this being a casual fishing trip with just their feet hanging by the pier while they cast their lines near the shore. the thought of bryan having money to rent a boat still hasn't crossed his mind.

Renting a boat was a stretch. He was simply "borrowing." it. Some habits died really hard and him spending that much money was difficult, He'd rather spend it on rent. But he still wanted to have some special time with Priam soooo he improvised. [break][break]

"The lighthouse huh? Sure, we could check it out too since that sounds pretty cool to see." he said as he remembered reading how the tower was attacked by Rayquaza during some sort of aqua initiative fight. Why hadn't they fixed it yet? Were they running out of funds? Regardless, if priam wanted it then Priam would get it today. "Whatever you want! This is us getting to relax and hang out day. We've been doing a lot of work lately." he told him.

"pog?"

he'll take any chances of being spoiled given his lack of previous experiences of it. he won't let bryan take his word back too since fishing is, like, one of his few passions in life-- if it can be even counted as that.

priam runs up to the boat, his samurott following suit with an equivalent pace to keep up with its trainer. it teeters lightly with the water-type's weight, which causes priam to stagger.

his things were then littered on the boat's floors before he instructs his samurott to jump off to the water. the rocket turns to bryan, grinning as he motions an invitation.

"you know how to drive a boat?" he asked. "i've driven one once before, so i guess you could call me an expert!"

it was during the three-day war with the megalopolans. it was also open waters where he just charged in straight to the enemy. they also had no idea, nor recollection, of what he was doing the entire time.

"Is that so?" he said laughing a bit as Priam was super eager to go fishing. He had no idea that he liked it this much. [break][break]

"Alright then she's all yours, captain conrad." he teases as he hands Priam the key. "Cause I got no fucking idea! I was gonna use my pokemon to tug it a long! Or just wing it really." he giggled as Bryan had no fucking idea how to drive a car let alone a boat. Why was it necessary in a world where people could be somewhere in an instant with the right move? Lanturn swam up to the samurott, flashing it's light at it to try and get it to play with her as she was starting to grow bored.

the samurott mainly ignores the lanturn because priam has already drained the youth of all of his main pokemon with his seemingly boundless energy. there's no playtime for the two for now.

"alright then."

he takes over the boat, trying to remember what he did during the three-day war. hands nervously travel to where they're supposed to be, and in a few seconds, the engine starts to rumble.

"there we go!" he exclaims excitedly. the boat then slowly inches forward. "oh pog, we're moving!"

before long, the boat goes from the slowest speed possible to zooming. it starts to move fast enough to cause priam's hair to whip in the wind that their pokemon gets left behind.

surprised, but not really, the samurott groans and follows after.

Bryan applauds as Priam manages to get the boat going. However the look of pride quickly turned into one of horror as the boat began to speed up and didn't stop accelerating. "PRIAM WAIT, SLOW DOWN." He shouted trying to scream over the amount of wind bombarding their ears. [break][break]

Lanturn rushes behind the samurott trying to see if it could help out with the situation somehow. "TOO FAST. TOO FAST." he said trying to pull himself over to the steering wheel and pushed up the accelerator to slow the boat down.

priam was about to put the brakes on upon bryan's request, only to be met with bryan's own attempt to slow down the boat. it surprises priam, causing him to get the boat to a full stop.

the whiplash of the event gets him to hit his chest hard on the controls before he gets thrown back at the backseat. he hacks and cough before it turns to wheezing, and then laughter.

"that's the best you can go? i've driven faster on land!"

granted, he was drunk and that he almost crashed the car on multiple occasions and would've had his license revoked if he had a non-student one, but the point still stands.

"let's see how you do it then!"

Bryan tried to gather himself as he was extremely dizzy from the drastic change in momentum that they both just went through. He would have slammed his head into the console if he hadn't been ready for it, but it did little when he got hit in the chest and knocked the air out of him. [break][break]

he laid on the floor of the boat as he tried to catch his breath. "You're right, it's my turn. You're not driving this shit again." he said huffing and puffing between words. He didn't say it with a tone that would convey anger, one that just displayed concern over his and Priam's safety. "At least we can fish here." he said looking around and seeing how peaceful it was as they made it pretty far out thanks to how quickly they were going.

priam looked offended, crossing his arms and huffing.

"you're just jelly that you can't go that fast," he argues with a smug tone. that was enough to feed his ego and let him drop the subject. "but that's okay. everyone's not as great as i am," he says as a parting shot.

he looks around for his equipment and finds his fishing rod surviving the wild ride after being lodged at the corner of the boat. his pail was gone though. probably now part of the garbage littering the waters of sootopolis.

an arm raises the pole when he finds it before he dramatically swings it and casts the line to the water. "we're fishing then!"

priam then takes a seat and is somehow surprisingly still and quiet afterwards.
