The Growlithe was still watching with starry eyes, the much-larger Arcanine was definitely holding his own! It was a sight to see, really.

Back out in the middle of the arena, the Braviary let out a screech of surprise, which became a yowl of pain—before the attempt at dragging the other down to the ground was realized.

They said that whatever went up had to come down, right? But what if—

Another valiant screeching noise came from the blue-plumed avian, before both of his bulky claws them reached out; an attempt to grab at the Arcanine’s fur and drag it up into the skies with him in a Sky Drop attack!

Time to fly.

”Damn, he can still fly with all that weight? Impressive!” Vic whistles, genuinely surprised, and as he does, he watches the way his Arcanine firmly holds on to the Braviary even as they go up. A single question fills his mind: how to turn this around?

What could they possibly do so Nougat has the advantage even in this situation?

Maybe a move that ensures he lands the first hit…

A way to break the fall…

”Nougat!” Vic calls out to his pokémon the moment the Braviary begins its descent. ”Keep holding on and use Extreme Speed!”

Of course the Arcanine does as told, and still biting firmly upon the Braviary’s wings, it speeds up their fall – making sure the other pokémon can’t escape this.

It also means Nougat will take the damage from the Sky Attack, but it sure is better than free-falling, and he’s no stranger to some recoil.

Never mind if his wing was starting to hurt because the canine was hanging onto him like a tenacious le—

Another screech because the Sky Drop involved a second part of said Braviary suddenly plummeting downwards and crashing towards the ground—well, whatever he’d picked up would end up crashing on the ground but the Braviary would pull out of the dangerous banking drop.

However, though, the Arcanine had plans.

The Growlithe that was over on Vic’s side of the arena was now barking—of course Max was cheering Kyouya on—but the smaller canine couldn’t help but watch as the Arcanine took things into his own ~~hands~~ paws and actually went along with the Braviary’s risky dive.

From the other side of the arena, Alexei cackled.

“Of course he can! The Braviary line can carry really heavy shit, not just people on their backs!” he called from where he stood, leaning on the cane and heard the avian screeching as the Arcanine was bringing them both crashing to the dirt!

A dust cloud kicked up upon impact, and the shockwave almost knocked him off his feet, but he held on. Another loud screeching broke through the dust cloud, but…

The Braviary was on the ground! He wasn’t going to give up—hell, no!

At such close range, an Aerial Ace was unleashed.

What a stubborn avian.

Enhanced by his use of AGILITY earlier, Nougat’s EXTREME SPEED sure is something to see, so much so that his younger counterpart starts barking excitedly. It makes Vic chuckle, his gaze fixed on the falling pair as they approach the ground.

”Ha! True!”

And CRASH!

A cloud of dust rises, blocking their vision, but within it, the Arcanine stands despite the damage taken from the fall.

To no one’s surprise, both pokémon taking part in this battle seem to be incredibly stubborn, because when the Braviary decides to attack at close range, Nougat counters in exactly the same way…

By using CLOSE COMBAT on his opponent.

“Nougat’s pretty stubborn too, huh,” he chuckled as both Pokémon continued to tussle on the ground—the Braviary attempting to get into the air but constantly getting smashed by the Arcanine’s attack kept him grounded.

Another loud screeching noise echoed out as the blue-plumed avian was getting pummeled, before suddenly throwing a ground-based Rock Slide.

The thing here was that the Bravairy was already battered, yet absolutely refused to give up…

“Kyouya! What the hell!” he exclaimed, watching as the stubborn avian continued to fight on despite the odds being stacked against her.

Braviary used Rock Slide!

Nougat is generally a very loving and sweet pokémon, but battles are something he has been trained to do since he was a small Growlithe. They’re something he cares for, something he enjoys, and thus when it comes to battling, he will always be one to put up a fight...

Even when having to face attacks he’s weak to, such as a ROCK SLIDE.
[break][break]
The rocks hurt, and they hurt a lot, but the Arcanine still stands his ground, and he does so by summoning flames that soon surround it.

Vic sighs at the sight, and still, there’s a bright smile upon his face.
[break][break]
”Guess we’re doing this, huh? Alright then… Nougat, Flare Blitz!”
[break][break]
Coated in fire, the Arcanine charges towards the Braviary with every ounce of strength he has left for one final attack.

All that matters is bringing down their opponent before the inevitable recoil.
