”I was glad to~,” had been his choice of initial response, paired with nothing short of a continued smile of both genuine nature and amusement, all the same. Azure hues lingered upon her for a small while longer as her own gaze drifted down, and after some, minor means of a pondering pause, he hummed soft and quirked his lip softly, all while tilting his head. ”Really~. …The talk we had was nice~.”[break][break]

He glanced over towards their two companions before eying those that passed by (subtly and quietly relieved that the former seemed momentarily oblivious, though not without multiple yelps and cries of challenge directed towards the little blue dragon, in the meantime), shrugging. ”...Honestly? Awkward start aside, I was kinda hoping you’d remember about the number I gave you.” His head turned towards her, once more, and he gave a soft chuckle. ”Wouldn’t have pressed on it, obviously, but again- I had a good time~.”[break][break][break]

though she remembers the night clearly, there's still a fair amount of reservation she holds towards what she's.. so colourfully said. words are easy to say when you're so under the influence, and regretting the choice of words makes it all the more bitter when recalling the night. even when a man insists that it's okay, and even shows it in the form of giving her some form of contact, there's still the lingering anxiety that hangs around her head. doubt is a companion who is all too familiar. "so you say.." a pinkish hue stretches across her cheeks, and she finds herself with green eyes to the ground. for some reason, it's a bit difficult to look at him. she can't tell him that she didn't want to call him, but she didn't want to tell him that she forgot. and arceus knows that she doesn't want to tell him that she'd be too embarrassed to be able to find the words. Shooting a shot in general was always something that was some sort of risk with a potential reward, but to always expect the aforementioned award would lead to some degree of innate entitlement if expected too often. Thus, as he watched the two drakes interact afar (thankfully oblivious, by the look of it, of the distant Pokemon that exited the scene, as well as those that promptly replaced them), he gave an absentminded hum that had only been paired by an attentive ear. Although his gaze hadn’t quite been upon her as she spoke her response, the response, altogether, had been received and considered loud and clear.[break][break]

Whereas some would feel disgruntled, he merely shrugged while broadening his smile slightly. Softly.[break][break]

”Don’t worry about it. Happens~,” had been his choice of reply, and as the words left his lips, he turned his head faintly. Azure blues settled upon the woman from the very fringe of their visions; a subtle, yet still polite look sparking within either of them. ”...Probably had more things to worry about the next morning anyways, right~?” He chuckled, raising a hand to gently tap against the side of his head a couple of times. ”Hope the hangover wasn’t too bad if you had one, at least.”[break][break][break]

He hummed, taking her words into consideration through little more than a few moments’ worth of silence. Before long, however, he shrugged and found his own words, saying, ”I’m kinda obligated to, honestly~.” A soft chuckle escaped his lips as he glanced towards his little beast in the distance (just as he seemed to be flying off the rocker again, delivering a quick Crunch in retaliation to what he could only imagine was interpreted intimidation at the sight of the pendulum constantly swinging at him) before sighing in soft amusement and exasperation, alike. ”Got a little kid waiting for me back home~. …I’d just be a damn bad father if I didn’t find my way back to him…”[break][break][break]

"mmm.." she hums in response, taking a glance to her own little dragon, who let out a FLAMETHROWER at the duo blades. it scathes the steel pokemon, and daphne immediately pulls out a pokeball to throw at it. less with the intention to take advantage of its weakened state, but only to prevent the bagon from burning it again. If anything, he shrugged and shook his head with what could’ve dared to be considered a touch of bashfulness. The corners of his lips tugged upwards faintly more as he watched his little dragon continuously riot and rage about (although not without making an awe filled uproar at the sight of the blades be scorched), crossing his arms lightly and comfortably over his chest.[break][break]

”...That’s what I’d like to think, yeah~.” A chuckle left his lips as he pondered it a while longer, though eventually shifted his attention towards the selfsame woman that offered him her compliments so easily. ”Could always do better, though. …Buuut I appreciate it either way, so…thanks~.”[break][break][break]
