here he is, a thorn in her side. always an obstacle in her path, the stick that makes her trip face first into the mud. [break][break]

doesn't he know how much trouble he causes her? how she loathes how her heart aches in his presence. it's because of him her heart hurts, and it's because of him she's hesitating in the middle of a job. it's because of him. it's because it's him it's always because of him. [break][break]

there's distress reflected in hr gaze as she eyes him, quietly. her hand trembles and shakes against the carapace, and the scolipede lets out a soft grunt. her chest raises as she lets in a soft heave, and the back of her shoes taps against the bottom side of the megapede. "it shouldn't" her eyes narrow. it's become so difficult looking him in the eye. [break][break]

"but you've always made it so difficult.." her voice lowers, trailing off as she pats the scolipede. without another word, the centipede dashes off with the trainer hanging onto its body, with thanks to the built up speed provided by its ability.

He waited for a response that he knew would never come.[break][break]

By no means had he been close enough to ascertain the mannerisms of hers for certain (loathe as he was to admit, his physical sight hadn’t been quite as keen as other sorts— and especially at such a distance), but all in all, he hadn’t quite needed to see such things. The look upon her face had been more than enough for conclusions to be drawn, and at the sight of her backing up against her last companion (a sight for sore and pained eyes, he wouldn’t dare to admit) had been done nothing more than seal the deal, for the most part.[break][break]

He knew what would happen. He knew because he knew her, and whether or not she preferred to recognize as such, he had been well aware of how she would react because it was him. Even as she spoke her part, and even as she sought refuge within the companionship of the megapede by her side, he remained as he was. Unmoving. Unyielding. Hues of viridian existed solely to gaze upon her within those next moments; the sight of them almost burning as he kept his attention upon her then, and even as she made her leave.[break][break]

He stared after her for a while longer.[break]
He eyed the ground before him before observing the area around him again.[break][break]

...Run like you did before, I suppose. It won’t change much.
