MARCH UPDATE

Aedan and his cross country team were doing one of their last autumn season jogs around Rustboro. The air felt brisk as it filled his lungs during their second lap around the city perimeter, along the edge of Route 116. As they were traversing familiar terrain, they passed a pile of leaves along the path. Most of them thought nothing of it, but as Aedan grew closer, they began to stir before a wild pokemon jumped out at them.

Thank goodness they were allowed to bring pokeballs. Aedan reflexively reaches for one of his, releasing Wilbur into the autumn environs with a gleeful huff.

"Wow, yer kinda creepy!" Aedan was thankful to have Wilbur by his side. Although the pokemon wasn't demonstrating any extreme aggression, he wasn't going to turn down an opportunity for practice. Besides, whatever this thing was, it looked particularly unsettling.

"Sick 'em, boy!" Wilbur hastily runs down the Claydol, rime-coated tusks raising upwards to rake its tender underbelly as it levitated overhead. Though it was hardly enough to drop the entity, it did well enough to send it off. Though he was eager to hunt it down, Aedan couldn't detour from his cross country team too much, forced to watch it flee.

"Good job, Wilbur," he says, patting its hump back.

"Awwh!" The next wild pokemon they encountered was much less hostile, and even if it had, he doubted it would be of much harm to any of his classmates. The silly Spinda could barely keep its footing, tangled feet carrying it aimlessly through their midst. Many of them stop to pet the creature, while the instructor doubles back.

While they're distracted by the Spinda, Aedan notices a wisp floating harmlessly near the tall grass. When he locks his gaze upon it, the light flits away, disappearing from view. With Wilbur at his side, he feels safe investigating...

"C'mon, let's go see what that was," he mutters.

The unown origin of the wisp eluded him, leading him by the nose into the tall grass before vanishing. In its wake he found himself toe-to-toe with a Teddiursa, which raised its thumb meekly to its muzzle and began suckling on the honey gathered there.

Seeing as it posed little threat, and that interacting with it further would only provoke a wild Ursaring if nearby, he decided to turn tail and gave up on his little chase before his coach could figure out he'd gone and run off.
