Apparently, this time it was just the wilds. At least she had not heard anything about a specific locale as she was let into the woods. That was fine by Vio. Despite appearances, she did have some outdoorsy crops, after all, and did not mind trekking through some wilderness, especially when it was worthwhile. Being accompanied by her Gardevoir probably made them look a bit out of place between the barren trees, whose leaves had long since taken to covering the ground.

But then again, she had no one to impress. Especially not the Pokemon. Though the first one she met did impress her. That chubby body with the long horn on top, little legs and arms protruding where they ought – she’d always recognize Larvitars. And thus, she decided to want one herself. Nodding to Gardevoir the Psychic Fairy went to work, Hypnotizing the passing Pokemon until it fell asleep. That was when she followed it up with a Pokeball, hoping to catch this one without needing to eat its dreams.

Violet would most certainly cherish this one. Gardevoir nodded to itself, a job well done, picked up the ball and delivered it to Vio, all in complete silence. The psychic type did not even rustle the leaves, seemingly gliding over them as she moved along.

Having gracefully accepted it, Vio had then continued on her little treck through the woods. There were four balls again and she’d used one, so she had three more shots, three more potential Pokemon. It wasn’t exactly a feast of captures to gorge herself on, but the quality was top-notch, as far as she was concerned. Especially when she heard something rustle nearby. Stopping, she gestured Gardevoir to do the same. And before too long, a sleepy Pokemon rose from the pile of leaves. Or rather, part of the leaves rose, for it was a Bulbasaur. Vio snapped her fingers and Gardevoir went to work again, using Hypnosis again to put it right back under, so Vio could try to capture this one as well.

What could she say? Even with limited balls, it was hard to say no to something small and cute like this.

Green certainly was the colour of the day, now wasn’t it? Violet just watched a green wheel or something float by, ostensibly a Pokemon. Yet, even though she waved and even threw a stone at it – which just bounced off with a clinking sound – that Pokemon just did not react to her at all and left. Which was bad because Gardevoir could not hypnotize something that wasn’t looking. Fairly straightforward for sure, but nonetheless a bit disappointing.

Oh well, what could a girl do? “Let’s just go and look for something else. We will just catch whatever comes next,” she explained to her Pokemon with a shrug, then she moved on. Not like she could have done much more in this encounter, even if she’d wanted to.

After the flight of the weird steel type, nothing happened for quite a bit, with the two of them continuing to walk along, far off the beaten path. It was getting kind of boring, really, so she decided to stop and sighed. Taking a deep breath, she decided to briefly wait, accept the world around her and let it in.

Only to then feel something odd. A rumbling in the distance. No, wait, it wasn’t? Whirling around she tried to locate the noise properly to no avail. Confused, she kept on turning – until something suddenly burst from the ground, knocking her off-balance from the surprise rather than an attack or even physical contact. It was just the sheer suddenness of the mole Pokemon appearing. And all she could do was toss a ball in surprise towards it, while Gardevoir reacted more collectedly and once more tried to hypnotize the assailant right away.

A ghost! There were still ghosts here? Honestly, she had not expected that. After all, Halloween was over and most of the ones she had seen so far had been ground or green. Yet, there she was, a Pumpkaboo with an amazing colouring. Yes, yes she wanted that one for sure. “Make sure you hypnotize this one quickly,” Vio thus ordered her Gardevoir, which went to work immediately.

And giddy as she was about this, the Rocket readied her ball right away. There was only one left and technically, she could still encounter more Pokemon. But that didn’t matter. As long as she got this, she would be happy. Hence, Violet threw it with all her might once the Pumpkaboo started swaying sleepily, hoping that this would be enough to keep it in.
