A rare yet still incredibly faint smile tugs at the lips of the woman as she reaches to pet the Ninetales that walks by her side, a few Will-o-wisps having been summoned by the fox to float around them for both warmth and light.

Sunlight fades, and holding onto a few shopping bags, Sol makes her way home, a Fennekin following closely while looking at the Ninetales as if she were the most amazing thing in the world.

The small Fennekin, young and curious, stops to play with a fallen apricorn; sniffing and slapping it around as if it were a strange toy. Sol, who would usually use an opportunity like this to train her pokémon on proper recalls, simply watches for a moment, her hand digging into the soft fur of the Ninetales.

Overhead, a Castform floats by, but she does not notice it.
[break][break]
”Hey.” Short and to the point, the word catches the Fennekin’s attention, its large ears twitching as it turns to look at Sol. ”Come.”
[break][break]
It stares, unsure of what to do, what finally draws it close being not its trainer’s words but a gentle yelp on the Ninetales.

Who would ever expect an Electivire to appear in the middle of the city?

The Ninetales suddenly tenses up, alert and watching as a THUNDER PUNCH hits a nearby lamp post, bending it by sheer blunt force. The Fennekin shifts closer to the larger fox, terrified, and Sol frowns just so slightly as she considers what to do.

Catch it so it won’t be a nuisance to other citizens? Seems about right.

”Greip.”

With a swing of the Ninetales’ tails, the Will-O-Wisps that had surrounded them shoot out towards the Electivire, a FIRE BLAST following them closely. Perhaps inspired by its fellow vulpine pokémon and wanting to mmic her, the Fennekin sends its own EMBER, and when the Electivire is downed, Sol can’t help but chuckle lightly.

”Good job… Both of you.”

The Fennekin wags its tails, welcoming the praise, and Sol smiles faintly, because while it may be small, it’s learning…
