well, shit. Guess who's back for more hell-ass insanity?!

Sure, he’d promised himself he’d stay out and away from the fucking Safari Zone after that debacle with finding one of Morgiana’s kind.

…but then that resolution was shattered the moment he spotted a Swoobat among the list of Pokémon that had moved in for the next few weeks! Also low-key on the list that caught his eye was a Lilligant, precious little queen that it was (and one of his favorite Grass-types from his home region).

He wasn’t expecting to see a pink-colored Eevee among the crowd, and since there had yet to be word of an Eeveelution that was of his preferred typing, he’d have to settle for getting one of the eight that existed that weren’t airborne…

Sighing, he then dug through his wallet and rolled over the money before getting four Safari Balls in exchange. Quickly pocketing them and then going through the security check a few moments later, he was allowed entry into the Safari once again.

Hopefully this isn’t going to take as long as it did the last time… he thought with his brows furrowed together in concern, before spotting a promising looking undergrowth and heading in that direction. He was hoping he hadn’t heard things, what he thought was the sound of fluttering wings…

It didn’t take too long before the sound of fluttering caught his attention. Turning his head around sharply, he tried to follow the source of the noise—hoping that he’d be able to pin it down and catch it before it got away.[break][break]

As he saw the shadow alight on a tree, he knew that he had to shoot it down—but not risk burning the entire area in the process. It was at this point he internally cursed himself—why the hell did he bring only two Pokémon this time around?![break][break]

Well, I was going for efficiency… guess I underestimated myself, he thought idly as he saw the culprit—and knew what it was by sight![break][break]

His eyes widened at the sight of the Swoobat, he then reached for a Pokéball and sent out its occupant as fast as possible. “Agni, don’t let it get away,” he addressed the Magmortar—who then promptly took aim and proceeded to drop a Thunderbolt right on the tree where the Swoobat had perched.[break][break]

Letting out a shriek of pain, the Swoobat let out a blast of Air Cutter, hoping to drive the Magmortar back, but a second Thunderbolt made sure that the attack was cut off in mid-air before it could even reach where he was. As the figure toppled, he then chuckled softly at Agni’s direction before tossing the first of four Safari Balls at the familiar Unovan bat, hoping it would come along with him as it was sucked into the beam of red light…

Apparently, getting to the point actually worked, as the Swoobat came along without much issue.[break][break]

I mean, after two Thunderbolt attacks? That was a bit too much… he thought idly as he approached and picked up the occupied Safari Ball. No sooner had he done this did he hear another trilling noise coming from not too far ahead… and his curiosity got the better of him.[break][break]

“Agni, go check that out,” he said in the Magmortar’s direction as he then looked at the Safari Ball that had the passed-out Swoobat and hoped that the Unovan bat wouldn’t hold it too much against him when it regained its senses once they were out of the Safari Zone.[break][break]

It didn’t take too long for him to hear the sounds of scuffling and shrieking—did his Magmortar take it too far again?[break][break]

“Agni, Agni! Calm down, no need to be so needlessly violent on the—“ he began as he burst out of the undergrowth in time to see that the Magmortar had released a Smog and had caught the Lilligant unaware before blasting it with a Flamethrower attack.[break][break]

In its defense the Lilligant tried to slap the Magmortar with a Petal Dance, but the Fire-type attacks proved to be too much for the Grass-type to take. “Shit, Agni, no need to overkill it,” he said with a sigh as he quickly popped a second Safari Ball to full size and dropped it atop the Burned, and presumably Poisoned, Lilligant’s head…

Thankfully this one also went along without too much issue, and the Magmortar was looking pretty pleased with himself at this point.[break][break]

“Gee, Agni, do you not have any chill—“ he began, before smacking a palm to his forehead when he realized what typing the Magmortar had. “Right, stupid question, forget I said anything,” he added a few moments later as he rolled his eyes behind said palm, the better for the Fire-type not to see it.[break][break]

It didn’t take too long, once again, for the Magmortar to hear something scraping not too far away and he quickly bolted off, leaving Alexei to pick up the second Safari Ball that now had a precious little queen inside of it, albeit he was also sure that this one would hold a grudge against Agni when she recovered.[break][break]

Shit, I have to make Agni calm down… he thought as he quickly followed the sounds of another battle not too far away. Wondering if his companion had spotted something of interest, he came to the clearing in time to see a Thunderbolt being dropped down on…[break][break]

…on the single ugliest Water-type that existed in his home region.[break][break]

Look, Alexei might be from Unova, but seriously, there were some Pokémon he was silently judging Arceus for creating—and one of them happened to be this one.[break][break]

“Don’t overdo it. Let’s keep moving,” he addressed the Fire-type, both leaving the toasted Alomomola behind flopping on the muddy dirt.

Not too far away from where the Alomomola had been dusted—well, just fainted, of course—there was another presence that literally flung itself right into the oncoming path![break][break]

“Whoa!” he yelped as the large pink…ball threw itself into oncoming traffic… only for both Magmortar and Alexei to look at each other with this united look of sheer exasperation.[break][break]

“What the hell?” was what he said next, before the Magmortar shrugged and just deadpanned at the Slurpuff that was now wiggling its butt in their faces. “Agni, it’s a waste of time…”[break][break]

A low rumbling noise came from the Fire-type before the Slurpuff charged forward with a Draining Kiss attempt, only to be nuked right in the face with a powerful Flamethrower attack from one of the Magmortar’s cannon-arms.[break][break]

“Shit, Agni… are you flying off the rails at this point?” he asked as the Slurpuff let out a wail before scampering away. Getting a shrug in return, he could only sigh.[break][break]

“Alright, let’s keep looking.”

After the little…unsettling encounter with the Slurpuff that actually had the balls to wiggle its ass in their faces, Alexei and his Magmortar continued their journey through the Safari Zone searching for two more things.[break][break]

Okay, that’s four out of six… so I only need to find the last two, and when I get those last two, I’m down and out of here! He thought, holding up both his hands and doing a quick count as he ticked off a mental checklist. Both Unova Pokémon, check. Not the Alomomola, and definitely not that walking dessert nightmare, so that leaves us with just… he continued to ponder in the back of his head.[break][break]

Eventually, the Magmortar would hear something, and without even thinking, aimed its cannon-like arm at the shaking bush and immediately dropped a Thunderbolt at whatever was hiding just out of their sight. A loud squealing noise came from the direction of where the Electric-type attack had landed, and Alexei could only sigh out of exasperation.[break][break]

“Alright, Agni. You started it. Go finish it,” he said, massaging his forehead with one of his bare hands as the Fire-type charged ahead, releasing a pleased huff as it then launched a Confuse Ray attack right into the face of a Sylveon, who squealed and had its Moonblast attack suddenly hit itself instead.[break][break]

Looking over to where his companion stood, all he could do was wave his hand which signaled that the Magmortar was free to do whatever, and right then and there shot it point-blank in the face with another Flamethrower attack, sending it backwards before it slammed into a tree. Huffing, the Fire-type approached and caught it in a Feint Attack just as it was about to flee, before blasting it over to where he’d finally join the Magmortar with another Flamethrower.[break][break]

Thoroughly singed from head to foot, Alexei could only wince as he dropped the third Safari Ball atop the passed-out Sylveon. What the hell was up with his Magmortar, anyway?

Thankfully the pink Eeveelution went down without a fight and was now inside the third Safari Ball he had. He was now down to one, but the question was: would he be able to find it? The other Grass-type that haunted this place? Turning to face Agni, who let out an indignant snort in return, he could only sigh.[break][break]

“Aren’t you getting tired?” he asked the Fire-type, to which he got a non-committal grunt in answer. “Are you sure?” he persisted, hoping that he didn’t have to switch out with his problematic Charmeleon, Ravana—who was still sleeping within his Pokéball.[break][break]

Of course, he was still blissfully unaware that his Charmeleon was a female, so…[break][break]

Another fluttering of wings caught their attention—and as one both Magmortar and Alexei traced the source of where the sound was coming from. It didn’t take too long before another Swoobat emerged—but then, wait, there was something…[break][break]

“Are you kidding me?!” he blurted out, the moment he realized what was up with this one: it was a shiny Swoobat.[break][break]

But he already had one of his own, so…[break][break]

“Go on, shoo,” he said to the shiny dual-type’s direction, hoping it would take the hint and clear out before the Magmortar went trigger happy on its ass and decided to shoot it out of the air with either a Thunderbolt or a Flamethrower attack, just to drive it away.

Alexei knew that Agni was itching for some action—and how was he to deny it?[break][break]

But the thing here was that he’d already single-handedly brought down three different Pokémon, and one of them happened to be a Fairy-type too, so…[break][break]

He was a bit hesitant on recalling the Magmortar—especially after it had been doing so well, too. It was about a few seconds before the Fire-type suddenly shot a Flamethrower seemingly aimed at Alexei did he realize that his companion may have gone bonkers in the head, because…[break][break]

“What the actual fuck are you doing, Agni?!” he blurted out, having to dive out of the way as the flames came his way, certainly about to roast him to a fine crisp. However, it wasn’t the case as it had served to incinerate some…seeds? What?[break][break]

“…oh,” he continued after a few embarrassed moments, sighing as he saw that the Magmortar had spotted something else that he’d very nearly missed. “Go on, take care of it…whatever it is,” he said a few moments later, pulling himself up into a sitting position so that he could dust off the grit and shit that stuck to his jacket and jeans.[break][break]

Letting out a huffing noise of utter manic glee, the Magmortar then rushed forward, aiming its cannon arm at the unknown opponent and sending an immediate blast of Flamethrower right at whatever was chucking seeds around. At the same time, this let Alexei finish mopping himself up so he stood up before heading to where his Magmortar was finishing up with another Grass-type…[break][break]

…and it was the last one he was looking for! Shame it wasn’t a female, but what else was there?[break][break]

“Alright, Agni, you’ve gotten all that rage outta your system? Good,” he said, exasperated sigh escaping his lips as he tossed the last Safari Ball at the almost-Burned to a crisp Roserade, watching as the red beam of light sucked it in…
