of course petalburg had been run over by bug pokemon. lei wasn't surprised, even if he hated the idea of chasing the pokemon out of an apartment. guilt about it, or something like that. and, to a lesser extent, the fact that he wanted to be cozy by a fire. inside, with his dog pokemon and a cup of cocoa...yeah.

"Gummi!" Vicki had been at a little bonfire, all cozy, when her Wurmple had wandered off!

Apparently it was a bug-type fiesta and she wanted to get in on it! The only problem was that there were a whole lot of Wurmple and that was making it really hard to see where hers had went!

"Gummiiiiii! Guuuuummi!" She yelped, wading through a small cluster of Wurmple as she tried to find her pokemon. Some help suuuure would be nice...

as lei made his way through the swarm of bug pokemon, a bit akwardly, he hears someone calling a name. their pokemon, maybe?

trying to avoid hurting any of them- he still felt bad, even if they were swarming, he tried to make his way over to the girl. even if the ground was obscure due to all the squirming, wriggling bodies. this was harder than he had thought....

It looked like all the bug pokemon were having a feast on the papers and wood in this place... the apartment would probably need a really good cleaning after all this was done.

"Gummi! Where did you go?" Vicki called out again, pouting and frustrated.

It was about that time she spotted @lei.

"Hey! Have you seen a Wurmple?" Which was a silly question, since she had about three crawling over her feet at any given time.

Vicki briefly wondered if a Will-O-Wisp would draw out Gummi like a signal fire... but then dismissed it. She didn't even have any pokemon who knew that move.

"Oh! You have? Where?" Vicki's face lit up, hope flaring that her precious Gummi wasn't lost... too bad for poor @lei she still hadn't been clear enough on what she meant.

as he says it, lei is almost saying his prayers that the girl realizes what he means. from the way her face lit up, though, he wasn't going to be that fortunate.

"everywhere?" at least he knew to sound apologetic about it. maybe, if he could figure out why the wurmple were here, he could help. and then he sees it; a discarded pile of berries. of course that was it.

"Every.... huh?" Vicki was confused before she finally put two and two together, glancing around. Her eyes got as big as a full moon when she realized.

"Ohmygosh! No, I don't mean... Aw, sorry! I mean my Wurmple! Her name is Gummi and she wandered off and now I can't find her!"

"oh!" realization, if it could even be called that, clicked at the girl's words as he struggles over to the berry pile. he'll just have to figure out what to do with them without getting attacked.

About that time, a Wurmple would drop from the ceiling and flop on Vicki's head. This one has the distinct feature of being a bright purple instead of the normal red.

"Gummi!" She calls out in glee, happy her pokemon is back in her arms.

"Well... you know, I think they're just hungry! I bet if we moved the food, they would probably leave?" That made the best sense to her, after all.

Either way, she was going to do her best to help out! And bully @lei into it, too!
