Things were beginning to show promise.

A second time he was allowed to go looking for wild pokemon in the routes nearest Rustboro? He would take that. Eventually the area would bore him, but for now it was teeming with pokemon worth meeting. Anything beat staying cooped up at home. "Let's go, Rikki!"

"Look, a bambi." Aedan and his Zangoose chance upon a Sawsbuck in its winter coat. He always wondered what winter was like, but had never gotten to experience it outside of a freak flurry or two. It couldn't have been comfortable wearing all that fur in Hoenn's tropical clime.

Poor guy. "Rikki, let's battle 'em."

Itching for a fight, Aedan took this chance: After trading a series of blows and maneuvering around the Sawsbuck's linear attack patterns, Zangoose came out on top after dealing a telling blow with a hack-and-slash X-SCISSOR.

That was Aedan's mistake. Taking the pokemon into his hands had been perturbing enough for it, but when he tried to polish its surface to reflect an image? It bashed against him before flying away from him, never to be seen again. Awwww...

His parents won't want a stinky weasel in the house, so just like the old story goes... Pop goes the weasel. After a brief altercation with his Zangoose, Rikki, Aedan chases off the rapscallion before realizing how late it's gotten.
