It'd been a comfortable amount of time since Sotsona had landed on this island region known as Hoenn. His original goal of going to Kanto had been foiled thanks to his abyssmal luck, however one of his partners had helped him stowaway onto a ship which wrecked here.

Nothing much he could do about that..

He decided to get an early start on the day though to check out what this region had to offer for pokemon. While he wouldn't call his newly acquired friends lazy by any standard, it just felt their goals didn't quite line up, among other things - such as feeling like a third wheel. The young man sighed.

"Can't be too hard finding pokemon right? I mean, you just kinda meander through the wilds until.."

The Morpeko on his shoulder looked at him and gave a shrug. I guess I couldn't expect too much from you he thought. Neither were from here so neither knew what grand differences - if any - this region would have from Unova.

You know, besides the lack of giant buildings.

Sotsona shrugged and tightened the backpack around his shoulder before he ventured away from the building he was staying at and further into the outskirts of town.

A cancelled class brought with it joy and unexpected freetime, and for someone like Ceri, it meant a chance to go do some of the things she had been delaying because of how busy her schedule usually was thanks to school and her job at the lab.

Catching more pokémon, and not any pokémon, at that. Grimer and Muk. Poison types that happened to make places like the outskirts of Hoenn’s metropolis their preferred habitat.

”You know what to look for, Pyr.” Ceri smiled at the Salazzle that walked by her side, a graceful creature that only paused and stood on two legs when seeing a stranger approach. A trainer? He sure looked like it. Apparently, they weren’t the only ones who had decided to go pokémon hunting on such a day…

Another human being shouldn't have been such a surprise.. But then again Sotsona wasn't that used to interacting with people from another country all that much. Perhaps there may have been "regional" differences that made him stand out, such as expectations and maybe wording here or there. That and it was pretty early out today so he assumed most others would be chilling indoors.

Such a thought was probably one of those "regional differences".

Sotsona began before a Delibird suddenly ran by, holding out a CD-looking item towards him before again doing the same to the girl. This distraction - while a welcomed one - was just long enough to distract the boy so that two wild pokemon could show up.

"WHoa, careful!"

He wasn't the most outspoken individual or the friendliest, but when it came to sudden "dangers" then he was all about trying to take the brunt of the force from everyone else. LIke he was some sort of hero or something trying to protect people. So when it was that a Venonat and a Houndoom appeared Sotsona immediately threw himself between the girl and the two wild pokemon. The last thing he wanted was for something bad to happen to a stranger due to his notorious bad luck just because he happened to be around.

"Let's go Winona! Take'em down so we can get home safely - Quick Attack!"

The Morpeko on his shoulder gave a stern nod before it cried out, leaping up into the air and landing on the floor for only a split second. That was all she needed in order to initiate her attack - her body now a blur as it ran forward in order to ram straight into the Houndoom.
