When she gets her first glance of her alarm clock, it's approximately 11 in the morning. The sun tries its best to sneak through the folds of her curtains, but it can't quite reach her when she's safely tucked away in her little alcove. So she yawns and stretches but doesn't make an effort to leave her bed. After all, it's pretty much a sin to be up anywhere before high noon has passed.

Swiping her phone off her desk, she immediately ignores all work messages and considers whether to block LANCE VOLLANS for a day. Perhaps she should... Arceus knows that man has a penchant for dropping in at the worst of times, even on her appointed vacation dates.

Before she can even roll her eyes and place her phone back onto her desk, she catches a small glimpse of the message sent by 'Certified Dumbass :^)'. A text telling her to wake up seems all too common, but one tagged with the promise of it being non-work related? Even if she's one to turn down invitations for activities in the morning, she'd be lying if she said her interest wasn't piqued in the slightest.

For once, her replies aren't decorated with any sense of sarcasm - Or well, she tries her best not to be snarky in any way. Her morning routine is by no means completed within a minute, but she tries her best to speed things up. From combing her hair to picking a nice and warm outfit to wear, she puts in just a little more effort than she usually does getting ready for work (but it's still not a lot, to be honest). By the end of it, she's exiting her house and locking the door with a quiet 'brr' escaping her lips.

"Never thought I'd wake up to the sight of you, котёнок~" Though she taps the toes of her boots against the ground, her keys still remain in her hands instead of being tucked into her pockets. "This being non-work related wasn't a lie, right?"

"not a lie. there's a winter festival in town. thought i'd take you."

But she figures she might just give him a cheeky grin for now as she tucks her key away and sways down the snow-dusted lane. If she hadn't known any better, the invitation he handed to her could have been considered him asking her out on a date.

A winter festival is a rare seasonal thing that really shouldn't be missed, always providing her a warming taste of home even when she hasn't been back in years. This was simply a friendly get-together of sorts, a kind thought on his part and she knew that for sure...

"Lan-" Her voice cracks and she quickly turns away, quietly clearing her throat before idly tucking loose strands of hair behind her ears. "Don't you have others you should be spending time with, котёнок?"

"oh. those things were on the agenda today, but seeing how you've already done them, we can just spend today in the festival."

speaking of, they soon come to the entrance — it's a long street that's been sectioned off just for the festival. festive decorations line both sides, coloring the usual grey with vibrant red, green, and white. various stalls have been set up to sell goods, food, and drinks. he tugs her towards the latter.

"Not the biggest fan of it, but that's probably because of the alcohol people like to sneak in... But none of that. You can't just bring me out to a winter festival and not go ice skating! That's one of the best things to do! Are you out of your mind?"

Scuffing her heel against the ground, Zahra lets her glance slip over the festive grounds and the array of vivid colours. Though it's nowhere as grand as the parties that her family used to hold, there's a quaint sense of comfort that radiants from the cheer that floods the streets and works its way into everyone's heart.

And it's quick to capture her heart too.

"We can probably... wander around for a bit first though..." She murmurs, gently breathing in the atmosphere as the cold kisses and nips at her skin. "But promise me that we get to go ice skating later?"

his own heart closes off, refusing to reminisce.

"i promise. oh, shit — let's go get matching hats."

before she can protest, he's already veering off to one of the stalls to pick out an adorable munchlax beanie for her.
