Since we're doing a thread with them, I figure I might as well post here. These two could be good friends, with her helping cheer Thomas up during their initial meeting. Seeing as he's a more sociable person when drinking, he'd be more willing to talk to her in the current state he's in. After that, he could probably be a sort of big brother figure to her, helping her figure out the world she's been sheltered from for so long.

i like it! i'd love a big brother figure for rhian, and she'd definitely be happy to help if they keep running into each other (or maybe more immediately depending on how their current thread goes!) despite not being able to relate to the loss of a pokémon, she did lose her mom as a child and technically her dad only recently, so i imagine she could have very few mature moments when talking about grieving.

rhian's the sweetest and landon could really do with having someone like her around. they're both pretty introverted, but they could always meet while landon's on the job. he likes listening a hell of a lot more than talking, so if rhian wants to ramble about any of the experiments she's working on or anything, he's there to lend an ear. they can reminisce about kanto and look out for each other, maybe with rhian trying to teach him to be a bit more sure of himself. idk i just want these two to be friends ok.

yes to all of the above!! rhian has this thing where she'll fervently believe in her friends and their capabilities, but not enough in herself, so i can definitely see her trying to give landon pep talks and cheering him up and sometimes probably motivating him to make bad decisions. like going on dangerous missions with her. i'm totes looking forward to these two being friends!

you know how sometimes you're in a group of friends who are all in the same career or business and they start talking in their profession's lingo, accidentally making you feel left out? i imagine that may happen a bit, but at least rhian will always come around to try and bring him into the conversation. i won't speak for leo's attitude, but i think leo could have been the one who used to know landon from kanto, and also the one who introduces him to rhian, and they could all have a very wholesome friendship.

they could have known each other a while ago still tbh. i'd imagine since he's one of the nicer kids he sort of ended up doing a lot of jobs the adults needed help with since he isn't good at saying no. maybe he got stuck babysitting rhian when she was in kanto (but rhian would have been an adorable kid so landon wouldn't have minded too much) and ends up seeing her as a younger sister figure, that sort of thing.

maybe they lost touch once rhian got older and stopped needing someone to watch her. neither would have probably had the idea to keep in contact, since they wouldn't have realised the last time they saw each other would be the last. landon just stopped getting asked to come around.

idk how long rhian's known leo for but maybe they meet again through him?? how long landon's known leo for ofc depends on if he's acc from vermilion (he better be @@leonardo smh) but yes we can see what pat says and these three can hopefully end up a cute circle of friends with landon as the occupational and actual third-wheel. much awkwardness from him ensues. he loves them both really though.

I like the idea of Leo and Landon knowing each other from Kanto. As a kid Leo used to be a lot less serious than he is right now. Them losing contact after Leo suddenly moves to Hoenn and then meeting a completely different Leo personality-wise would probably come as a shock to Landon.

Leo would be that kid that always finds a way to bend the rules for fun so I guess he might have made a bit of a reputation for himself back then. He was ultimately a good kid though. We can have their families know each other, maybe they used to invite each other to parties and reunions so they had plenty of time to play together. We could also just have them cross paths a few times because of Leo's daredevil personality. I'd be good with either option.
