Born in Shalour City, Kalos. The Benoit Family is old Kalosian nobility, currently running a business dealing with the development of body armor and various equipment, with connections to the League. As a child, he was nonconfrontational, and a coward, much to the chagrin of his father. His natural inclination towards academic pursuits pleased his uncle, the current 'head' of the family. He would try and fail to impress his father constantly, falling short with each attempt.
At the age of 10, went to Kanto to go on his journey. His first Pokemon, a Poochyena, was stolen from him by thieves, prompting him to try to find out where it ended up. Would eventually find that his Poochyena was sold to a cruel trainer, who challenged Thomas to beat him in a one on one battle. After barely winning, the trainer would instead kill the Poochyena with another Pokemon, before leaving Thomas to grieve in the alley, where he was found by a member of the Saffron Dojo.
Thomas would study at the Saffron Dojo, in hopes of becoming stronger. He would remain in Saffron with a family friend, enrolling in school while studying at the Dojo. It would be at this point that the once timid boy started to change, getting into fights with bullies and becoming far more aggressive. Word of this change reached his family in Kalos, much to the shock and dismay of his uncle, while ironically pleasing his father.
After completing his training at 16, he was gifted a Scyther, and would begin to hunt down the people responsible for taking his first Pokemon from him, beginning with the pair of thieves in the Viridian Forest. After tracking them down and beating them both within an inch of their lives, he would move onto the person who bought his Poochyena. During the confrontation, Thomas would nearly kill the man, before being convinced to relent, and allowing the cops to take care of him instead.
Would leave Kanto at this point to travel through Unova, where he would meet Kalameet, then a Deino. Two years into his travels, an encounter involving an Interpol agent would result in an offer to join Interpol. Despite his background, Thomas was able to go through the Academy, eventually graduating and becoming an agent of Interpol himself.
Over the next three years, Thomas' focus would be on dealing with a Pokemon Rights group operating in Unova. Over time, it would be found that they were a corrupt group intent on disarming the Region by convincing the people to release their Pokemon, so they could be the only ones with Pokemon themselves. Over time, it would be revealed that the "leader" of the group was a puppet for one of their advisors. During the final confrontation, the true leader escaped, but the group's plans were thwarted thanks to a combination of the efforts of the League, International Police, and brave trainers.
In the aftermath of the final battle, most of Thomas' Pokemon were seriously injured, forcing them to remain behind in Unova for medical treatment. Only his Scizor and Hydreigon remained healthy enough to go in and out of the check up.
Recently, Thomas has been assigned to the Hoenn Region.
