"The old lady at the souvenir shop in Rustboro City told me it's the most breathtaking place! Here it says the waterfalls were created after a meteor crashed into the mountain, changing the landscape forever", in excitement Eden held up the brochure he got. His bag was heavy from unnecessary shopping he had done in the past city. Though he couldn't help it, the old lady was so persuasive talking about the magical healing water and the holy keychains.

The trainer lifted his head: "See up there! That must be the entrance! Come on!" with the speed of a Flygon, Eden started to run towards the cave up the rocky path.

"Lies and fairy tales!" E groaned, reluctantly taking the brochure, but the speed in which he took it said otherwise. A picture perfect view, was it really that nice? "Ok, maybe it isn't so bad."

Was it really hit by a meteor though? Wouldn't that have wiped out a larger part of the area? E did his best to hurry after Eden, making sure Burmy was securely attached first. "Don't run off too far! We didn't exactly stick to the tourist route!"

"It will be fine! We are almo...Ahhh", underestimating the solidity of the ground below his feet, Eden's foot crashed through the ledge the trainer had jumped on. With a big slush, the stone broke off, sending the pokemon trainer flying.

Was this gonna be the end of Eden's journey...

"Wow, luck at that, Garchomp! My first catch of the day", a deep voice echoed through the air pulling Eden back up by his wrist. Someone had caught him last minute before his deadly fall. Lifted to his feet still shaken by the fall. Eden looked upon an overly attractive Pokemon trainer with dark hair and ice-blue eyes accompanied by the biggest Garchomp, he had ever seen. "And what a catch indeed", with a meowth's grin the trainer put his hand gently under Eden's head, pulling his face up. With a deep look into Eden's hazel eyes, the trainer said: "You okay, cutie?"

Lost for words, Eden blushed, nodding his head. What had just happened?

Burmy was securely fastened around E like a backpack, it's strange coils surpisingly long and sturdy. As the trainer ran to catch up, he heard a terrible sound of crumbling stone. It was hard to make out, but that was definitely the sound of Eden screaming for a second under the roar of the waterfall. "Shit!" E shouted before running up, worried ever so slightly.

"Are you o- WHA?"

Standing awkwardly some way away, E watched as a trainer effortlessly lifted Eden back onto solid ground before affectionately(?) lifting his chin up to 'check if he was okay'. Grimacing, E couldn't help but cringe and pull a strange face at the scene that unfolded in front of him. Thank god he was still near the bottom of the trail, this was a conversation he didn't want to be a part of.

Burmy even crept up his back, making a strange sound that only matched E's face. /blockquote]

"That was a close one. You could have gotten hurt there. Well, glad you aren't. I am Dante! A pleasure", with a smile that could melt butter instantly, the trainer grabbed Eden's hand before gently kissing it. What in the name of Arceus was going on? Did this guy just save his life and flirt with him? Surely not; he probably was just being nice.

"Th...Thank you so much. For ...not letting me crash. I am Eden", the trainer said, gently pulling back his hand. "Garchamp", flashing its teeth, the large dragon pokemon turned its head towards the approaching E, almost like it wanted to bark at him. "Nice to meet you Eden", sending a judgy look over to the other trainer wandering up the trail slowly, Dante yelled: "And this must be your pokemon companion. A fine Metapod you have! HAHAHA!" Celebrating his trainer's joke, Garchamp laughed along. Eden didn't get it...

E didn't want to, but he knew he had to make his way up there sooner or later. If he lingered back here watching, it would make him look weird. Look awkward. That just wouldn't do, he had to show he was also... Cool? Outgoing? Agh, he didn't know the word, and he was already walking up.

Shit. He forgot to stop moping. Why was he trudging?!

Unfortunately, E had already been spotted. Trudging up the trail with his arms hanging low like a slakoth, and face emotionally tired like a Gloom. Already, he was bombarded by a blinding flash of white teeth and an obnoxiously dumb comment about his pokemon.

Sadly, E was a gullible dunce who didn't understand the joke. Did this person not know what a burmy was? The trainer looked equally as confused, raising an eyebrow and slowly pointing to it, "Uh, that's a burmy... Originally from the same region as... Your pokemon?"

"Oh look Garchamp! It speaks! Haha!", not letting go of his bad joke, Dante's laugh echoed through the air. It was as infatuating as everything about the young dragon-type trainer. Without noticing, Eden started to smile...not because of the bad joke though it could seem that way...but because of how unbothered E seemed about the whole thing.

"Dante! This is my friend E and his pokemon partner burmy!", Eden extended his hand, introducing the newcomers. "E, this is Dante! He just ...well saved me from falling", Eden said, a bit embarrassed. "Friend...so not boyf... I see", Dante whispered to himself, his Meowth grin returning. "Nice to meet ya boy! Do you match all your pokemon to your hair colour, little bug type trainer?", another sprung at E. Dante surely was a comedian. "What brings you both up the mountain? Are you also fancying a bath in the waterfall?", putting his arm around Eden's shoulder, Dante trapped Eden's gaze in his icy eyes.

This is so awkward, E was shuffling on the spot. Did this person just totally ignore what he said, maybe he dodged it somehow. It wasn't a question, but surely he was aware this was not a metapod. E couldn't stop thinking about it. Yeah they're bugs, but they look so different.

"Yes, I am aware he saved you from falling. I was 40 feet away, I saw it all." E pointed to the bottom of the trail, which was in clear sight to where they were now. Did Eden think E was blind? Stupid? Hm, maybe E should be more careful with how he acted around people. Thoughts were ground to a halt when the dragon trainer, Dante spoke, his words as abrasive as the lairy clothing he wore.

E's hair was green? He never thought of it as such, perhaps it looked as such in a certain lighting. "Uh, no. If it's green you're talking about, they're entirely different shades. Mine is dark, almost black. Burmy is much more vibrant, like a tree. It's leaves are literally from trees." E paused to think, tapping his chin. Matching his hair with his pokemon? That does sound sort of fun.

"I think we wanted to catch pokemon. If I wanted to bathe, I'd do so in an actual bath tub. Not in the outdoors. What if a pokemon grabs you and drags you away?" E pointed further up the trail, "You might even get hit by another meteor."

"Sounds like someone is scared of water! Or Pokemon... I actually caught Garchamp while diving", Dante was not only flexing his muscle now. What was going on? Eden sensed a strange antagonism between the bug and dragon-type trainer. "Can you really swim in the waterfall? It does sound kind of fun", Eden enquired. He hadn't swum in a while but loved the sensation when he was younger. One of his first memories was diving into the lake by his old house with his dad's Hydreigon.

"But yeah, E and I came to look for some pokemon. We have heard there are some rare ones that only live at the meteor falls", although Dante was awfully close to Eden, his attention shifted to Garchamp. If he remembered correctly, his dad had one, too. A bit of sadness filled Eden's eyes as the pokemon starred back at him. "Garchamp", lowering his head, it sniffed Eden's hair.

"Oh, seems like Garchamp likes you! Since it didn't bite off your head. Haha", Dante jumped in, joining his Garchamp in getting closer to Eden. "Are you really a Dragon-Type trainer?", Eden asked as memories of the past rushed through his mind... flying with his dad's Dragonite ... wrestling Charizard... playing catch with Dragapult.

"Yes, sort of! I love Dragon Types. Besides this little baby.. I have a Fraxure and a Druddigon. You want to see them", Dante said with a smirky look on his face.

"Yes, sort of! I love Dragon Types. Besides this little baby.. I have a Fraxure and a Druddigon. You want to see them?"

"No." E replied curtly, grabbing his things and heading on. This was a waste of time, he didn't want to sit here looking at all the cool pokemon he could have had. No, it was dull and boring. At first it was somewhat inspiring, but when the trainer acts like that, it literally felt like someone was dragging rocks across his face.

Thank god this could be over with quickly.

Eden could stay and listen to all the flashy stories, but E wanted to actually make this worthwhile. What's the point in hiking all this way just to listen to some glorified dragon tamer go on and on about how cool he is.

No thank you!

"My dad used to be Dragon-Type trainer", without releasing the words had left Eden's lips. Usually, Eden wouldn't be all chatty about his past but the sight of Garchamp dragged his thoughts into the past. "Was? Did he quiet?", Dante asked padding his pokemon.

"Ehm ... Yeah he stopped", sadness coloured Eden's face. It wasn't hideable - picking up on Eden's mood Dante grabbed his hand. "But you seem to like Dragon Types. Let me show you how cool they are! HEY, YOU! METAPOD-HEAD! Let's battle!", steam puffed out of Garchamps nose in excitement.

E heard a few things as he wandered ahead, a few things about dragon type dads or something. Maybe he'll ask about it later, or hear more about it as the journey goes on. Unfortunately, getting away wouldn't so easy. Stopping abruptly, he would look behind him with the most confused look, glaring at Dante as if he was the biggest idiot in the world.

"Uh, for real?!" E would laugh if he wasn't so shocked, "Did you not just hear what I said?"

E sighed, rubbing his temples before taking a step down and holding out his fingers as he began a list of points.

"One. I just said we're here to catch pokemon. I can't do that if I don't have pokemon, I'm not walking all the way down again to a pokemon centre just to come back up. Two. I'm not entering a fight I'll lose, sorry burmy."

The pokemon chirped sadly, but rustled its leaves and got cosy again. "Three, no. I- I can't remember three."

"Come on! Don't be such an Abra! If Garchamp scares you ... I get it. I will use my baby Fraxure. Listen, I make it more interesting - if you win, I will show you the best place in this waterfall to catch pokemon. Does that sound good", Dante open his arm as if he was inviting E to win.

"But if you lose... well! I will go on a date with your mate. How does that sound", the dragon type trainer said shamelessly winking at Eden.

"A...a...a Da..da...date?", Eden was at lost for words holding up a finger pointing at himself. What the Arceus was going on?
