The young detective lays a devious trap: the PINCURCHIN he's affectionately named CHIMA.

Deep in the wilds of the Safari Zone, she lies in wait. Completely unmoving and silent. Meditating, at times. Just straight up sleeping at others.

Its trainer, on the other hand, sits in the bushes nearby. Watching. Checking his phone. Wondering if he left the stove on at home by accident.

A CHINGLING floats over the Pincurchin and nearly passes it altogether... until catching it from the periphery of its vision. It looks at the strange pokemon with CONFUSION. This prompts Chima to crackle with electricity, however (SPARK).

The mere act sends the fearful Chingling fleeing.

The OSHAWOTT carefully pokes at the Pincurchin with its scallop. It hadn't fallen for the booby trap so easily, primarily due to the fact that it had been searching for truffles before stumbling upon it. Now it wondered whether the thing was even alive... maybe edible?

Just as it opens its mouth and inches forward to take a bite, however, Chima comes alive with an electrifying SPARK. The surprise attack is super effective, and renders the sea otter unconscious without fail. Atlas wakes when he hears it, popping his head out from the bushes and grinning before scrambling to pull out an empty ball.

His first capture of the day! The Chima bait worked!

The CYNDAQUIL, with its keen sense of smell, managed to detect Chima from miles away. Even so, the little creature couldn't help to saunter up to the bait. When it pressed its snout against it, it might has well have pressed a big 'GAME OVER' button!

The two lit up with a crackling SPARK, and this time Atlas was awake and ready. He came out from the bushes with a pep in his step and laughter, tossing an empty ball he'd already prepared in hand.

ROWLET were smarter than most. Their evolutions were notorious hunters of the forest, after all. And it seemed that their growing wits started at a very young age.

After inspecting the laid trap from afar, the little owl perched on the branch nearby wisely decides to ignore it. It flutters away in an almost silent flurry of feathers. It's okay though, Atlas didn't even notice it. He was taking a cat nap in the bushes.

The GROWLITHE seems to think that swooping in quick with its AGILITY to take a sniff was the smartest option. A sniff, however, was a sniff: it took a certain amount of time afterwards, no matter how fast you'd come in. As it turns out, it was just enough time for the Pincurchin to unleash an electrifying SPARK.

PARALYZED and almost rendered completely unconscious, the Growlithe staggers in place for a bit before finally succumbing. Atlas comes out of the bushes right afterward, chucking an empty ball at the pup.

The last pokemon to fall for Chima's trap is a SCATTERBUG. From high above, the Pincurchin appears like a very spiky berry. There were many varieties of the kind. The fact that the bug hadn't seen this one before, however, did not dissuade it from investigating.

So, hooking it mouth onto it, the Scatterbug begins to try and chew. This prompts a SPARK and a small burst of POISON POWDER, however. And, though Chima is, in fact, poisoned, the Scatterbug has been rendered unconscious and paralyzed.

Atlas emerges from the bush, a ball in each hand to capture both.
