Okay, something that looked really cute was definitely deadly. He knew better than gushing over something like that Stufful.

…as if he was a gusher, but point aside; the Stufful caught sight of him and then charged right at him. Unsurprised, he just stood there, watching before a sudden blur of something that detonated caught the Stufful in its path.

“…ah. There you are, Alph,” he remarked as the Lucario emerged from the undergrowth, having fired off the Aura Sphere just before the Stufful had attempted to Tackle Lars to the ground.

“Did you find anything?”

The jackal Pokémon shook his head slightly.

“Not this way, huh?”

A nod.

“Alright—”

The Stufful was up again, this time pissed and ready to smack the living daylights out of the Lucario with a Force Palm but a well-timed Counter from the Lucario sent the energy back double—and right into a Safari Ball it went.

Okay, what the hell.

“Is—is this shit trying to mock me?” he said, completely and absolutely unimpressed as he saw a Luvdisc floundering near the shore. While he wasn’t exactly in the mood for it, he knew that there was a Gym out there, somewhere, that welcomed any and all of these… weird… fish to their waters.

And what an interesting way to start with the Luvdisc trying to use Charm on Alpha.

How cute.

The Lucario made a face before turning to look at Lars, who had an equally bizarre look on his face.

“I don’t know, Alph, you take care of that,” were the last words he said before said Luvdisc literally launched itself out of the water with an Aqua Jet a few moments later.

Another well-timed Aura Sphere smacked the Luvdisc in the face, sending it flying—but before it could hit the water and swim to safety, another Safari Ball was thrown.

After the funny little fish had been taken care of, something else came wandering their way—

Well, he already had one of these, the grown-up version, but funnily enough the grown-up version he had was… definitely not the kind that was used for major healing and support.

I mean, why the hell does the Blissey I own have a moveset that’s more… on the offensive side of things?! He thought to himself as the cute Happiny headed his way made this strange little happy noise.

Just as the Lucario was about to blast it away with another Aura Sphere, Lars shook his head.

“Chill, Alph,” he said—before realizing what he’d just blurted out.

‘Haha. I heard that.’

‘Real funny of you.’

He had no idea how this one was going to react, but both human and Lucario were surprised when said Happiny waddled over to the jackal Pokémon’s direction before offering something for the Lucario to take.

“Go on.”

The Lucario blinked, before crouching down and accepting the Present from the Happiny—wait, what? How was that—

“Lu,” the jackal Pokémon said softly, looking up at Lars, who nodded before Alpha stood up once again and rolled a couple of stray Berries towards the little one.

Watching, and waiting, it took over ten minutes before the Happiny had fallen asleep due to being fed—and then Lars poked it with another Safari Ball, watching as it was swallowed into a burst of red light.

And so the last encounter of the day made both Lars and the Lucario look up.

It was like the Eevee had stumbled into a secret meeting with the two of them whispering over something; before the Lucario stood up and was about to take aim with an Aura Sphere, just like last time.

But Lars shook his head, instead gesturing at the Berries that the Lucario had rolled toward the Happiny. Would luck favor them a second time?

The Eevee, thankfully, wasn't here to argue. They were just hungry, that was all.

Lars watched and waited as the Lucario began rolling more of the Oran Berries from earlier in the Eevee's sirection, before Alpha tooka a few for himself and began eating. Just to show that this was alright and there was no harm in doing so.

Therefore, while the Eevee was distractedly eating the Berries, Lars took the chance and used the last Safari Ball he had, watching as the beam of red light attempted to capture the Eevee.
