Heavy shoes kicked against the ground as Ross ran up the side of the mountain in his training attire as the morning rays of the sun started to cut above the tree line and pelt against the side of the mountain. Today was another regular day for the man, up early in the morning and doing his daily run. The only difference was the locale, his home town of Lavaridge was just a few more miles up ahead with his hotel a little more into the center of the town. Every other month or so he would return home to spend a small vacation weekend just soaking in the local hot springs. They help soothe his sore muscles from all the beatings he took from his job.

The added work he put himself through doing his usual workout routine probably didn't help them all that well however, as he was pushing his body to its limits each time. One might even question the point of going away for some R&R. Truth of the matter was Ross was just that dedicated to keeping his body up to snuff, and he wasn't the only one either. From behind him the earth shook as a large hulking purple lizard was chasing after him in its own pace of jogging up the mountain. Despite its slowness and weight the Nidoking didn't seem all that tired compared to Ross, sure it was sweating a bit more but it looked as if it was enjoying itself.

It was actually kind of nice to have a running partner on these sort of exercises the man thought to himself. He had never considered that they didn't need to be other humans as well.

A splash of water on his face was a nice welcome to the heat that came off from the air around him. The sun was more out into the middle of they sky and added by belting him down with hot rays of sunshine. He was getting hungry, especially watching Khan trying to reach for some berries that hung from a tree that was just a few centimeters taller than the Nidoking (if you can even believe that) even as it stood on the tip of its toes. Its fingers were just scratching the surface when something flew out of the tree's branches and snatched the berry out of Khan's grasp. The Nidoking did not take this very well, apparent by the hail of Poison Sting it shot into the tree's branches.

SUddenly a shadow fell from it and it was greeted by the poison pokemon's potent Mega Horn and swatted to the ground near Ross. The large man just stood there with his eyes a bit wide at the scene that played out. The masked bird pokemon snarled at Khan and was preparing to strike, its focus solely on the Nidoking that it didn't notice the pokeball gently lobbed at its head before it was too late.
