He stood in front of Elijah's door once more.[break][break]

He hadn't visited Elijah in quite sometime, after Soleil's passing he spent most of his time in the tree of life. [break][break]

Two knocks. "Yo. Elijah." he said being much more casual compared to last time he had dropped in on him like this. He had spent time with elijah here and there, letting himself be more comfortable but knocking was still a common courtesy.

lucky that elijah was home. groggy and drunk with interrupted sleep, sounds of his stumbling can be heard. the clamor of a rolling empty pot. a tossed cuss word. and finally, the lock.

several locks click as he opens the door, his victreebel's vines sprawling around his body as if to wrestle him back in.

"oh. it's you." he snorts, eyes heavy with their circles. "what is it this time, deer boy?"

a victreebel vine snatches the bag from bryan's wiggling hand. the lithe limb disappears out of frame. the whhhhhooosh of a wooden drawer opening and closing can be heard, crowned with a clunk.

"gifts do.

like a troll receding into the shadows after receiving his toll, elijah opens the door from behind its frame. vines recede as the victreebel waits.

"thanks." elijah says. "i'll bring delina out. i call him cressly now, by the way."

the apothecary says lazily, searching for his pokeballs.

"he's by the window."

Liligant rushed out from behind Bryan, her new form that was a mystery to anyone who saw it being a stark contrast to the fluffy princess as she was much more light, delicate, and most of all more quick on her feet. [break][break]

She rushed over to Elijah and shook his hand up and down again as she was happy to see him again, she could tell he cared a lot for his grass types based on the plants in his domain. [break][break]

Bryan lugs himself in slowly.[break][break]

"How's business been?" he says pulling out a grinder from his pocket, the same one Elijah saw last time but more scratched up and used as compared to the shiny new one he saw last time. Whether by age like the people in this very room, he laughed when he heard that Elijah changed Floette's name again "Still constantly changing it's name?" he asked.

He looked over towards the window that Elijah had pointed to, spotting the floette a small smile came across his face but for some reason he stood in place, almost as if he was afraid to approach her.

"business has been just okay." elijah straightens his lips flat. closes the door after the lilligant rushes in.

he raises a brow at its form, wondering where its leaves have gone.

"yeap. think about it." elijah rolls his arm in its joint, stretching like an old man at early morning tai chi. "say this flower's immortal or some shit like that. it's gonna outlive us all. might as well have it get used to changing names with every new owner."

his victreebel brushes its vines and leaves at the hisuian lilligant's legs, finding no dress. just lithe lines.

He raises an eyebrow at Elijah, it was a rather grim way to look at things but he wasn't wrong technically. "True I suppose." he says looking over at the Floette by the window. "Hey lil bud." he says approaching the Floette by the window, using his finger to rub the top of her head. [break][break]

As Elijah mentioned immortality, Bryan realized something. "Guess that makes two of us huh?" he says casually speaking to the Floette as now they were more similar than even before. He still pitied the fact she was stuck in the submarine but at least she wouldn't need to suffer anymore as long as he was around. "What do you think she calls herself?" he says trying to fill silent humming of the lights in the lab. [break][break]

Liligant energetically curtsied with her legs at the victrebeel, eager to meet more of Elijah's pokemon. Where as she was more cautious before, it seemed like that nervousness was gone with the wind as the fighting typing influenced her personality a bit more. She did however tilt her head at the pokemon, wondering what it wanted.

elijah mumbles, but he's already chewing on another stem of thought. the cud settles against his molars and palate in unnerving textures.

"what do you mean by saying 'that makes the two of us'?" he stares at bryan- much like the victreebel staring back at the other pokemon.

Bryan falls silent, realizing he said too much as the only thing to break the silence was a long exacerbated breath. [break][break]

"Like I said, that makes two of us. I'm just guessing but if this thing has as much infinity energy that I do.." he says pushing against his knees with the palm of his hands to stand up before turning to look at Elijah. [break][break]

"Then we're both immortal. I cant die." he says as he points to his forehead "Sniper bullet went right through here, lost sight for a few seconds before the wound closed up since it was a small bullet" To prove his point even further, Bryan took off his shirt to show Elijah his torso. It was once full of scars but ever since MATIAS SILPH set him on fire, it grew back, perfectly smooth and blemish free. "That E4 Silph bastard lit me up like a bonfire too, clothes burnt to a crisp and after a day of rest I was fine." he said putting his tank top and overshirt back on. [break][break]

"If you wanna test it, be my guest. I still feel pain though so don't get too fucking creative." he says as Liligant giggles at the victreebel and immediately invades it's personal space and tries to peer into it's mouth jug.

if elijah's eyes could grow as wide as a deerling's they would- but their alarmed colour is restricted by his stern brow. he's immortal? he stares at bryan as if witnessing him for the first time.

despite bryan's proclamations of miracles, there is little awe in elijah's face. he's surprisingly wooden. petrified, even. and yet, a fire begins to burn, threatening to break through the bark from the inside out.

"i'll pass." elijah says of testing. he flattens his lips and allows silence to settle in spite of their playful pokemon nearby. "how do you feel being a bastardization of nature? of natural law?"

"No. I'm not." he says as Elijah's words come off as critical to him. "I've been ready for this for a long time. I've sought it out the entire time" As he stops petting the floette to start preparing the substance he had brought with him. He prepared it a lot faster this time around as he grounded it up and wrapped it up in the paper he had brought with him. [break][break]

"I've become something more than human now elijah gardner ." he continues as he ties the end of the blunt tightly and tries to find his lighter but fails to find it in his pocket [break][break]

He mimic's the motion of a lighter with his thumb as his finger lights up and he presses it to the end of the blunt to light it. "Besides. I have a new goal now." as he presses his warm thumb and ignites the bud. "I want to give Xerneas enough strength to bless priam conrad as well. I only care about him, everything else I can survive without. " he states as he inhales deeply and release a small plume of smoke, turning the blunt around and extending it to Elijah.

despite the unfuriating bravado bryan rides upon, elijah accepts the smoky offering. a quick inhale calms the nerves. settles the mind.

but does little to ease elijah's beliefs from their stubborn stone.

"im not much older than you." he says, casting smoke from his molars. passing the item back, elijah shakes his head, "but you're naive as fuck. you've become something more than human now? you hearing yourself, bud?"

his victreebel cowers away from the hisuian lilligant. shifts away from what it deems unnatural and unfitting of this world.

elijah does not have the same luxury of retreat.
