She had been called to investigate some strange flower beds that appeared all over the region, specifically one close to petalburg city, just on the outskirts of town. She found a bed of them with a pink hue to them. [break][break]

beautiful yet strange, a crystal grew out from the middle that when touched released a small flash of light. They seemed harmless enough so Melody let out her wishiwashi in a nearby pond to explore the ones that also seemed to be living underwater as well. "What the fuck are these things.." she said as wishiwash began to rub itself all over the flower. "Wishi be careful!"

because the last thing he needs to add to his already long list of wrongdoings is being inadvertently responsible for killing melody's fish. he won't be able to live that down.

She turned around to the sudden voice behind her. Her ponytail swaying dramatically, she smiled realizing who it was. "Oh! Hey cian!" [break][break]

She said offering the hug he was clearly expecting. "It HAS been a while huh?" she said as wishiwashi peaked it's head out of the water before returning back to rubbing himself all over the nearby flower. "Any idea what the hell these things are? it seems like wishiwashi is having fun with that one in the water." she says crossing her arms and staring at the weirdo Pokémon. [break][break]

"You're here for the same reason?" she asked.

after their brief hug, he shifts his attention to the swimming wishiwashi who's busy rubbing itself against a flower. it looks fun, in all honesty.

"i think they're called crystablooms."

he shrugs before bending down to rest on a knee.

"i'm about as clueless on this as you so i'm not sure why they called me. probably because i'm close by."

reaching into the water, he brushes the back of his finger against one of the flowers.

"they feel smooth! try it."

She raised an eyebrow at first that was filled with skepticism. She however caved in and obliged to his request and put her hand in the water and touched the crystal for herself. [break][break]

"It does feel kinda good. it's like..soft yet rough? I don't really know how to describe it. But maybe it's cause it's scratching him?" she said as she looked back over at wishiwashi who was going absolutely feral on this thing. "I had no idea he liked scratches so much." [break][break]

"I wonder what happens if.." she says trying to uproot one of the flowers for her own safekeeping. She plucked it out of the water and seemingly. Nothing happened? "Huh. It feels weird that it didn't blow up or something. First the time distortions and now this.." she says squinting at the flower still shining in her palm. "Hehe, should I keep it? it is really pretty, would make for a good night light in my fish tank and wishi seems to like it."

if it had legs, he's sure it'd be on land rubbing up against their legs right now. weirdo.

cian almost flinches when she plucks one out of the water. huh. as nothing happens, he decides it safe to pluck another one out as well.

"pretty strange. maybe it's not from this universe."

he holds the flower in his palms before turning to look at her, smiling.

"you should! it's really pretty."

and gently, he reaches up to tuck his flower behind her ear.

"it suits you."

Her face turns the same color as her hair as she blushes at the fact he placed the flower behind her ear. Her arm instinctively was raised to punch him as it was her typical response to stress, but remembering the incident with Remiel Calcifet she was prepared this time and used her other hand to catch it. [break][break]

"T-Thank you Cian! T-that's very sweet of you." she said as she was clearly flustered by the gesture. Unbeknownst to them both though, wishiwashi had seen the entire thing and got entirely jealous. He was right, wishi was just like a cat. So much so that he leapt out of the water and sprayed him down with a soak attack. [break][break]

"Wishi! What the fuck?!" she said turning over to chastize him "You DONT DO THAT!" she added. "I'm so sorry Cian, are you ok? He's never done that before I don't know what's gotten into him..." she said as she scratched the back of her head and tried to figure out what they could do to solve this little problem.

melody could've punched him and he would've been okay with it. thankfully, it doesn't come to that, which he's actually glad about because the last thing he needs is more punches in his life.

he does, however, get SOAKED.

"i'm good! it's okay. i've been through worse."

chuckling, he brings a hand up to wipe water off his face. he turns back to the lake in front of them, then back to her.

"seeing how i'm already wet, wanna go for a swim?"

She laughed at how easily he was ok with the fact that wishiwashi had sprayed him thoroughly. [break][break]

Swimming huh? "Hmmmm.." she said thinking about it for a moment before suddenly plunging into the water and resurfacing a few moments later. She laughed as she had scared her wishiwashi who was now bumping into her stomach for pay back, but thanks to the fact that his schooling couldn't activate it was just playful bumps. "Cmon Cian! the water's great! what are you waiting for?!" she asked as she was desperate to have some fun and relax. This was her most peaceful mission in a while.

he quickly shrugs off his wet shirt before slipping into the water as well, joining her in the beautiful lake within petalburg woods.

he makes sure to stay clear of her wishiwashi, afraid of what it might do to him underneath the murky waters...
