Normally, he would never make the trip so far inland, however… for some reason he was back with looking for Slowpokes again.

Considering that he only had like, one, and he needed three more—so who knew how long he was going to be out here? Well, then!

He then rolled his shoulders and began his search.

It didn’t take too long for a shrieking noise up above to alert him that he wasn’t alone out here, and so he pulled out a Pokéball at random and threw it skyward.

It was always a one in six chance he’d call the wrong Pokémon, but thankfully the shape that emerged from it took to the skies—

It was his Altaria, Nami.

“Go handle that,” he said, as he continued walking down on the ground.

The only thing he remembered hearing was a loud Uproar coming from whatever was up there (a Fearow) but she was faster—taking careful aim, tanking the attack in stride like a lady should.

A few moments later a frigid beam of arctic energy emerged from her maw, the Ice Beam attack freezing fast on the Fearow’s wings and causing it to shriek and fly away from where the cloud Pokémon had appeared.

The next thing that he would encounter made him stop and do a double-take right as his Pokégear suddenly began to chirp really loudly—

A few quick movements made him silence the thing, before the Altaria came sweeping in with a burst of Dragon Pulse, just as the Slow—the Slowking fired off a blob of energy, its retaliatory Confusion attack.

“Nami, don’t go too far,” he warned the Altaria, who hummed before the Slowking got smart and decided to hit the cloud Pokémon with Disable just as she was about to attack once again.

“What—what the hell?” he blinked, before realizing what had happened.

Right then and there the Altaria retaliated with a burst of lunar energy in the form of a Moonblast, which was more than enough to knock the Slowking off its feet and be caught in the red beam of an empty Pokéball he’d thrown before the Slowking could hit the ground.
