The entire tree drips with honey.

Standing at the center of a grass clearing in the PETALBURG WOODS, it is unclear how the tree managed to get itself drenched into such copious amounts of the viscous, golden substance. There were no signs of a Combee hive anywhere nearby. Nor any buckets to show the signs of human involvement.

Regardless, the dripping tree had attracted quite a lot of attention from the wildlife. So much so that, over the past week or so, many hikers and travelers along the route nearby had filed complaints to the League over unwanted encounters and attacks. The Pokémon had been crazed, they'd often said, and unrelenting.

Cade Atreides stands before this bizarre anomaly now. His BANETTE, in the meantime, sinks into the shadow of the tree and swims its way up its trunk until reaching the top. It pokes its head out of the leaves, grinning down at its trainer until setting its eyes upon a newcomer on the scene. The one-eyed blonde, too, turns to look.

"... You must be on the same mission as I."

He flatly remarks.

They were quite the pair, the two blondes: standing in a clearing in the woods staring down a tree that seemed unnaturally covered in honey. Cap frowned. He'd heard of some people trying to attract Pokemon with this sort of stunt, but they never seemed to catch anything worth it. Just more random Bug-types. But this couldn't be a natural phenomenon, surely. Cap sighed, lacing his fingers behind his head and relaxing onto one foot. In all fairness, he didn't know enough about trees or Pokemon biology to know either way. What he did know about was the way the seedy underbelly of this region worked, and boy did this seem to be a really conspicuous way to accomplish anything.[break][break]

He tilted his head when the other spoke. Cap grinned. "Must be. Otherwise, this is a hell of a coincidence." Ra sat just to the side of Cap's foot, his little body pressed up against his trainer's ankle, staring at the tree. There was something akin to a mix of temptation and fear in his little Pikachu eyes. The honey smelled delightful, but what other things would that smell entice? Cap stuck out a hand to his companion in greeting. "Name's Cap."

The one-eyed man nods. "Cade." He responds, finding it slightly funny (buried somewhere deep within that serious personality of his) that their names were almost as alike as their locks of blonde hair. Regardless, it isn't long before he returns his attention to the assignment at hand.

"Who do you suppose has done this? ... Overachieving whelps?" The man asks, his resonant tones laced with a distinct Spanish accent. He looks up just in time to see a glob of honey drip down from one of the tree's branches, splattering across several more on its way down before reaching the sticky ground below.

Meanwhile, PABLITO the Banette sinks back into the shadows and travels swiftly down the length of the tree. It reemerges out from the Pikachu's black silhouette afterwards, poking its ear from behind before swiftly sinking back in again with a teasing chuckle.
