A Cherrim. Hmm. Vio stood in front of the tree it was hanging from for a bit. Keen-eyed, she had spotted the Pokemon among the fruits somewhat easily. It was not doing much, pretending to not notice itself. But instead of reflexively throwing a Pokeball at it, she rubbed her chin, thinking. After all, this was not her first time on safari. She knew the value of these balls. Being an old pro by now, she knew better than to just catch the first Pokemon she saw for no reason other than it being there. No, she wanted to make those count.

And, really, what use would she have for some fruit? Sure, it could be like that tea room challenge where even the weirdest Pokemon might have the one and only solution to an issue. But A ), that was not going to happen often and B ), even if it did, she probably would punch the one making the pointless challenge in the face. Probably. Likely.

So, no, she was going to leave this one be, for the time being. It probably would still hang out here by the time she returned anyhow. Might as well look for something better, first.

It wasn’t long before she stumbled into another cute Pokemon. This one, too, had some characteristics of something edible. But for one, it was not a fruit and instead related to an animal to begin with. And for the other, well, she knew that this one could evolve into something quite amazing indeed. She already had one, of course, but one could never have enough flying fairy bombers.

The little one seemed to want to cuddle her, too, so she could not exactly say no. Squatting down, Violet gave the little one a hug right away, before pressing a Safari Ball at the little one, intending to catch it.

With a new Togepi in hand, she moved on, towards the meadows. There were quite a few Pokemon around, a whole group of them even, Nidoran of this sort and that. As far as she knew, these Pokemon were special in that their gender differences were pronounced enough to lead to completely different evolutionary lines. Maybe she should get one of them. But which? Right then, she was still hidden in the shadow of a tree. If she went to catch one, the others would probably scatter swiftly, so there was one attempt at best. Well, even if she could get more, her pool of balls was too valuable to just throw all of them at Nidorans.

Thus, she had to pick carefully. Yet, once her eyes fell on a female Nirodan with a slightly different colouration than the others, it became rather easy after all. Maybe it was shallow or something of her, but if she had the choice between any normal one and one that looked very special, that she went for – in this case by throwing a safari ball from her hiding spot, hoping for the best.

Another throw, another success. She had the Nidoran she wanted. Almost Violet had missed and hit another, but somehow, this had worked out. However, the engagement was not yet over, to her surprise. While the Nidoran scattered, that whole commotion had apparently roused the suspicion of a bird. A small Fletchling, if she identified the species correctly. It was nicely red and bright, much like the Pokeball that it was not interestedly pecking at.

It had not really noticed her yet, either, offering her another capture chance on a silver platter, really. Question was, did she want to try? It could fly away easily. But then again, it was a pretty bird. “Screw it,” she mumbled to herself. Then she tossed one of her remaining balls at the Fletchling anyway.

So far, she had a Nidoran, her newest little Lucky Egg in Togepi, and now a Fletchling. One ball left. And that Azurill she found near the River looked really, really nice with that striking green colour. She already had an Azumarill, to be honest, even one gifted to her upon joining Rocket, so she was not going to replace that.

But then again, one could have multiple of the same Pokemon. Worst case scenario, someone probably would pay a few PD just for the amazing colouration, even if she did end up not wanting to keep it. She probably would, though. Heck, she was extremely attached to her Rattata, just because it was special. This would probably end up similarly, really. She could tell already.

So, what the heck. Rushing out towards the riverbend, she readied her last ball and flung it at the other ball-like Pokemon, hoping to hit and catch it with that.
