the beach to the north of rustboro on route one-one-five is most often overlooked. when people think of rustboro, they think of a bustling city deeply ingrained in hoenn's culture and history. they rarely think of the beach it has.[break][break]

locals like cian take advatange of this fact. it's why the beach today is as quiet as it is, making it the perfect spot for a day out with his girlfriend.[break][break]

Hung onto her shoulder was an oversized beach bag holding only the essentials to any fun day in the sand: a deflated beach ball, frisbee, more sunscreen, and extra towels. They were basically set for life.

The innocent question came with the solid thud of her beach bag hitting the ground. Turning around, her delicate fingers went to work, combing back her amber hair to the side and revealing the yellow and white stripped bikini top she was wearing beneath the blanket of red. "Thanks." She turned back around and gave a quick peck on the cheek before snatching back the sunscreen from his hands. Giving it a soft shake and squeeze, Penelope rubbed the dab of white paste between the tips of her fingers before leaning forward to dab it back onto Cian's cheeks and nose.

"Missed a few spots," She cooed, lovingly, rubbing the small spots of sunscreen across his cheeks. Once satisfied, she'd smile and nod to herself before slipping back down onto the set blanket. With a sigh, she stretched her arms above her head until she heard that all-too-satisfying pop.

Slowly, she'd turn back to Cian. "I'm glad we were finally able to get out here," She smiled. There were far too many times work had gotten in her way. It would've done so again if she hadn't put a hard stop to it this time around. "Work has been...a lot."

It was crazy how you could casually do that in hoenn -- just randomly run into a wanted criminal known for committing mass terrorism. It made her wonder if coming back was such a good idea sometimes.

"That while I can understand where they're coming from," she began as she lifted her head off from his shoulder. Her right head stretched out to her right, and with one pull, she fished out a container of grapes from her bag.

The container opened up with a satisfying pop, and her index and thumb, Penelope plucked off the largest purple grape she could find and raised it up to Cian's face, mentally offering the first pickings to him. If he were to accept, she'd smile and plop it into his mouth.

It was something of an odd habit she was developing. Crafting up the best first bite possible, only to offer it away to Cian. His cute reactions were simply too addicting to resist.

"He agreed, though. Well, actually, he said 'I don't agree with our methods either', but I guess thats basically agreeing." She mimicked a more cartoony version of THEO BECKETT's voice. It sounded more like Mr. Burns than anything, but alas, Penny never held a talent in voice acting.

If only he knew the way THEO BECKETT's words still carved a dent in her thoughts every now and then, reminding both of the opportunity lost and the potential that could've sprung from it. It was better this way, she tried to reason with herself, but there was only so much she could do to dissuade the facts that were flung at her face.

5% less readership than last week, on a continuous downward trend. All while HNN keeps falling upward. it was frustrating, and the fact she had to decline an opportunity to turn the scales only added to the stress.
