This time, Alexei decided to give Meteor Falls a break.[break][break]

He was pretty sure that the people who frequently trained there were tired of seeing his face haunting the area—so he’d made up his mind to search for dragons in another area entirely.[break][break]

He wondered idly if it was a good idea to start building up his team as his alter-ego—rather, his drag queen persona, ‘Irina’, since at the moment ‘she’ only has six Pokémon and she really, seriously needed a leg-up in terms of power.[break][break]

And I’m pretty sure my actual sister would love the Fairy-type, he thought idly as he looked out over the expanse of Route 115, wondering what was waiting for him in the tall grass.[break][break]

While it was a welcome change from the dull, dreary caves he so frequented while looking for a Noibat, he knew that he had to fluff up his ‘resume’ of Pokémon if he was going to successfully pull off being a drag queen and run around the place as ‘Irina’.[break][break]

Now the question was, would he be able to find what he was looking for? He squinted and checked to make sure he had enough Pokéballs to go around.

It was the loud jingling and clinking that made him look up.[break][break]

…what the hell was that supposed to be?[break][break]

He then checked his PokéGear, wondering if it had any information on the weird-looking, approaching… what the hell? You can’t be serious? This is a Pokémon? He thought, blinking in disbelief at the information on Klefki that was displayed on the screen in front of him.[break][break]

“Seriously, what kind of…” he muttered softly in disbelief, unable to accept the notion that a bunch of jingling, clinking keys had actually managed to gain sentience and was now literally shimmying its entire body—which was made of keys, where was the lie there—before moving off in another direction.[break][break]

Probably to pick up a few lost keys, but who knew?[break][break]

Either way, he let out a snort before heading deeper into the route.

Okay, first it was a bunch of sentient keys, now it was—well, that drew him to raise his eyebrows up and look at it in silent wonder.[break][break]

He guessed that Lucas would already have one of these, so…[break][break]

He observed the Lileep, seemingly ingrained into the dirt as it tried to suck up the nutrients in a small field around it, trying to survive without being so close to the water.[break][break]

How was it going to last for long?[break][break]

He knew that the route was notoriously dry, even after rain came passing through it seemingly evaporated too quickly, too soon.[break][break]

“Sorry,” he said softly, turning around and leaving the weird-looking barnacle plant to continue draining the area dry of its nutrients.

Okay, while he wasn’t expecting to run into a dud this week that last… that mustachioed Golem caught his attention. Wait a second, a Golem with a moustache?[break][break]

Since when did they have moustaches?![break][break]

Blinking just to make sure he didn’t miss the memo, he then pointed his PokéGear at it, waiting for some information to come up on it—and he almost did a double-take.[break][break]

What, Alola forme? He thought idly, wondering if what he saw was a mistake. Well, it wasn’t, so he let out a sigh before a sudden Rock Blast came cartwheeling his way—forcing him to dive the fuck out of the way before he got mowed down by the projectile.[break][break]

“Wow, rude,” he grumbled as he landed unceremoniously on the dirt, randomly groping around in his pocket and then tossing out a Pokéball at random. It took a while for him to realize who he’d picked, but maybe it was a good thing all along?[break][break]

“Shuyin, blast a Hydro Pump in its face! But be careful! You’re not yet—“ he began before said weird-looking Golem rushed forward with a Thunder Punch![break][break]

“…Electric-type attacks,” he added with a groan, watching as his Mudkip then rolled the fuck out of the way, the Electric-type attack hitting thin air before it suddenly unloaded aforementioned Hydro Pump attack in the face of the little… well, in this case gigantic shit of a Golem.[break][break]

It wasn’t until the Golem let out a roaring noise did he remember that this little Water-type could actually potentially defend himself—as long as it wasn’t taken too many times! A sudden retaliatory Discharge of energy flared out from moustache Golem in response, before he reared back and called out, “Protect yourself!”[break][break]

The little Mudkip then literally curled into the tightest of balls, activating Protect the moment the powerful peal of electricity rained down around it—but thankfully it wasn’t affected.[break][break]

Once the worst had passed he then unfurled again and blasted the Golem with a second Hydro Pump, catching it right in the face before it could continue firing off the Rock Blast attack.[break][break]

Another Hydro Pump brought it down to its knees, which was enough for him to chuck an empty Pokéball at it.
